Chereads / Project:Zerø / Chapter 6 - Phantom's Shadow

Chapter 6 - Phantom's Shadow

Skills and abilities are sometimes interchanged by many players.

Abilities, as said, is a thing you are able to do.

For example, chopping, running, stabbing, slashing, etc.

In Zypher's case, it is blacksmithing.

Another Ability he obtained is the ability to access the Codex Library, which is pretty much explained.

While Skills, as said, are the derived enlightenment of one person on the said Ability.

For example, Moon Slash, Dragon Fist, Crouching Tiger Palm and many more.

Skills are derived from Abilities, and more Abilities can be made from Skills.

In Zypher's case, the Skills Northern Vulcan Style and Dwarven Style are the Skills he got.

And today, he has to earn another Skill, which is the Weak Point.

In actuality, this is only the first step in his new life.

In his past life, there were players who always sees through his Illusionist Class.

The players eyes were a bit peculiar, as some of them obtained them as a blessing, or a unique trait to them.

His class is not OP in the first place, but illusions are illusions, and someone seejng through it is a very bad matchup.

But now, he has to obtain one of the "eyes" that can se his disguises: Delva's Eyes.

In the Lore of Project: Zero, Delva was one of the Heroes hailed by the Empire.

She was one of the Seven Enigma, the ones who killed the Ninth Disciple. But then, the Seven Enigma's died after battling the Eighth.

This shows that even the NPCs are helpless against the Dark League.

And in the new update in his past life, another Disciple will replace the killed ones.

This shows how big and difficult the story of Project: Zerø is.

But then, people can't quit because of the small hints and leads that were being found out everyday.

This just makes everyone hungrier to see the true ending of the said game.

Even Zypher was curious about it.

Going back, he knows that appraisal is not that OP, for he can only see the general idea of the said item, person or skill.

But Delva's Eyes are different.

Delva's eyes are blessed by the Goddess of Life, and are able to see the intricateness of things.

Another use of Delva's Eyes is the "Weakness Exposure".

When the Lore explained it, it is like following a set of slashes or stabs, or any moves that can deal big damage to the enemy.

It is like a cheat skill that can give him a chance to always land a critical hit, if only he is of Combat Class.

Speaking of his class, a change appeared in his Status Window.

[Class: ???]

Whatever it is, he knows that it will be a non-combat class.

Also, it is not the Illusionist Class he had last time.

Because to unlock the said class, he has to be level 10, and proficient in Transfiguration Magic.

With him not being able to level up, he can't have the class or even meet the class-up requirements.

"Ugh, my head hurts from all of these things."

Basically, he is not the one who stole the Codex, but he is suffering from the curses that were towards the true thieves.

"In any case, Delva's Eyes takes priority."

And what does he need to get it?

Yes, the skill: Weak Point.

It is a cheap copy of the Skill of Delva's Eyes, and the abilities are subpar.

But, this is the beginning of the said Ability.

It was said that the Goddess of Life blessed the Ability when she saw Delva using it to destroy the forces of evil.

But, not all needs the blessing of the Goddess.

In his past life, the user of Delva's Eyes, used things to forge a replica.

One of it is the target of Zypher for making the Blood Kunai.

Blood Bat Cave.

Also known as the Tutorial Cave.

In here, enemies only has 5 max stats value, in short, any player can kill the enemies.

The only problem is that the enemies are flying, and projectiles are the way to kill them.

The main enemies in this cave are Blood Bats, and with a rare appearance of the Hidden Monster- Shadow Bat.

But, to a regressor, a Hidden Monster is not hidden at all.

The Blood Bat Cave has three parts: the Blood Mountain, Blood Forest and Blood Camp.

Blood Camp is the place where the Final Boss, Lesser Vampire, is located.

There are also two mini Bosses- Reaper Bat and Missile Bat.

The Final Boss will not appear unless the two mini Bosses are killed.

The maximum stat value of the final boss is only 10, which makes it easy to clear.

But, clearing it does not give any profits, so small guilds decided to just mine the Blood Mountain.

The game also has it's own Resource Regenaration System, where it only takes three days for it to have the same number of resources.

But then, it won't satsify the greedy nature of humans.

For minerals, ingredients and other things can be exchanged for other items.

For example, 1,000 Blood Ores can give a player one gram of Fae Dust, a dust needed for potion creation.

In two years time, when the wars starts, the lowest value of Fae Dust will be 1,000,000 Blood Ores.

Of course, Zypher will take advantage of it, perks of a regressor.

Nevertheless, Zypher needs something right now that will help him in getting the Weak Point Skill.

Zypher, being a level 1 player, walked towards the dungeon of Legar.

There are no guards here, for no one has ever died in fighting the Blood Bats.

When he entered the dungeon, he rushed towards the Blood Camp.

At this moment, the Lesser Vampire has still not spawned, as the two mini bosses are still alive.

Zypher then walked towards the center of the camp, where the Blood Altar is located.

Before the Lesser Vampire comes, the Blood Camp is connected to the Shadow Bat Camp.

The players do not know of this because the Blood Camp is at the end of the map.

Following the psychological trap that the end of the map means clearing the dungeon, players only focused on the Blood Mountain and Blood Forest.

But, for a regressor like Zypher, these stereotypes don't work on him.

Plus, the brain that comes out of the box is the mind.

In truth, the Shadow and Blood Baths are nemesis, but the Blood Bats occulied two thirds of the land, pushing the Shadow Bats.

And with the awakening of the Lesser Vampire, the Shadow Bats will go into hiding or go extinct.

And with conflict comes opportunity.

The Blood Kunai emits mists of blood, and can poison the others.

But for Shadow Bats, they are like food, and the more they eat, the more they grow stronger.

And that's why Blood Kunais will do the work.

What happens when Blood Mist is smelled by the Shadow Bats, and a power on par with the Lesser Vampire appear?

Abby, the sweeper inside the ore store, that is managed by Madam Rory, is in a mission to find out the background of Zypher.

Inside the week of spying, she found that his life was a bore, for blacksmithing is all he do.

But then, it all changed in the past week. After smithing a few blades of crude iron.

Crude iron is a brittle mineral, and forging it is hard. One wrong tap, and all the forged ore will crumble.

The forging is done through light taps, until the crude iron is forged.

After that, the blade is submerged into the molten blood ore for five minutes.

And in the end, the Wynn Tear is needed for a finishing touch.

In this manner, Zypher created a consumable weapon, which can't have a rating, so his sub class quest cannot be completed.

In a short while, there were 30 blades in the table in front of Zypher.

These thirty blades has different shapes, sizes, but all in all, exudes dangerous aura.

Zypher then carefully pulled a vest out of a closet, and carefully inserted each and every blade into it.

When all was said and done, Zypher decided to go to Blood Bat Cave.

Although it can be said that he is late in the game progression, all the preparations are already complete.

And so, what happens inside the dungeon is a matter of skill and experience.

Abby then decided to halt, and let Zypher do his thing, but also came inside the said dungeon.

She joined another team, and was closely watching Zypher when suddenly, he vanished into thin air, and Abby cannot see where he did go.

As a matter of fact, it happened so fast that no one knows where he is.

A few minutes into the dungeon, a sudden change happened.

Reaper Bat, who is known to many, the boss of the Blood Mountain, suddenly erupted in anger.

Bosses stays in the final parts of their dungeon, but a sudden change like this makes the players stop what they are doing.

[SUDDEN MISSION!]

[A player has triggered a hidden scenario, choose sides and take the Linked Quest:]

[Blood Monarch]

[Shadow Kaiser]

[Humanity]

A notification pop-up appeared in front of the players as they were working on the cave.

When Abby saw it, a confused look was drawn in her face.

'That guy..'

In the middle of the Blood Bat Cave.

A tall, dark entity is floating in the middle of the Blood Altar.

In the vicinity of it are about twenty Shadow Bats that laid sprawling on the ground.

Their bodies are lodged with a reddish blade, and are clearly dying. The bats screeched and screeched, but nobody can help them.

The floating shadow tried to pull out the blades, but it explodes when he pulls it, giving the bats a coup de grace.

In anger, the floating shadow materialized, and a name appeared atop its head.

[Phantom's Shadow]

This was, the hidden boss of the dungeon.

It is as big as a person, plus the red glow on it, meaning that the boss is enraged.

A few minutes later, a huge bat appeared in the vicinity. A Blood Bat woman that has spikes on her back.

The Missile Bat appeared.

But the Shadow Phantom is not giving its enemies anymore time to get ready as it attacked Missile Bat.

Shocked by the progression of the scenario, Missile Bat hurriedly released the spikes in its back. Those spikes hurled and rotated in a fast manner.

The spikes arrived fast, as its gyro power shuttled through the air. The body of the Phantom become like hedgehog, but due to its Enraged state, the damage is low, and the Phantom decided to ignore the damages.

It then pulled a shadow and formed a spear, and hurled it at the flying Missile Bat.

Seeing this, Missile Bat turned by flapping its massive wings. With the sudden maneuver, Missile then sent another barrage to Phantom.

Phantom became more enraged as he saw what Missile did, but the sudden barrage made him jump back. He looked at Missile, while his eyes proclaiming that he won't forgive the bat for the thing it made.

Phantom then spread his shadow behind him, and there appeared small blades, smaller than the projectiles of Missile, and spinned like crazy. Phantom sent it out, and followed arch courses for it travels on air resistance.

Now, Missile was also dealt some damages, but the she dodged the other ones. Her missiles also found their target, but Phantom won't let her do what she wants. He then hides into shadows, making it harder for Missile to hit her.

The barrage of the two went on and on, while the cicada behind them watches as the health of the two continued to be whittled down.

Who would've known that his past life experience and with the help of his items boosting his stats, he can kill the Shadow Bats by using only one blade.

Now, there are only eight blades left, and Missile fell down from the sky.

After that, a notification appeared in front of him.

Seeing this, he is now leagues ahead of the other guilds in the 7th Apostle Episode.
