Chapter 3 - Chpater 2: Sam War

It that time Princess Sun Hee-Yoo and Princess Jia Yon-Si witnessed an eagle flying in the sky and dropping a scroll with its beak. Princess Sun Hee-Yoo caught the scroll and they both left to go somewhere. Later on, they arrived at the palace courtroom where they announced the arrival of the scroll and revealed its contents to the gathered ministers and officials.

"What's the matter?" asked Minister of Justice Yun Bok-Ho, noticing the tense atmosphere in the room.

Princess Dae Yong-Ji stood up and respectfully greeted the minister. Minister Yun Bok-Ho returned their greetings before turning to Princess Sun Hee-Yoo and asking, "What happened?"

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo's expression was grave as she replied, "Eagle came."

The room fell silent, everyone freezing in fear except for Princess Jang-Mi Gi, who sported a small, sinister smile. Defence Minister In Tak-Soo broke the silence, asking, "What does the scroll say?"

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo cleared her throat and read the message aloud. "The Kingdom of Cheongug and The Kingdom of Jiog will be having Sam War from King Min Seong-Ha."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji looked worried as she muttered, "This is not good." The weight of the news hung heavily in the air, and the fate of the kingdoms was uncertain.

Health Minister Woo Keun-Won queried "What's the cause of this sudden Sam War ".

Princess Jang-Mi Gi asked Princess Sun Hee-Yoo "What is Sam War Sister ".

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo looked at Princess Dae Yong-Ji face. Dae Yong-Ji said "Tell her ".

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo blinked her eyes and she said "Sam War it means three different family ".

Princess Jia Yon-Si said "It is the first time this Sam War is happening ".

Commerce Minister said Tai Hee-Jung said "First is indirect warfare that we'll attack each without knowing like canon and it will be held for 4 days ".

Finance Minister Chin Hae-Moo said "It's quite dangerous and anyone can be dead ".

Education Minister Dong Yul-Ho said "Second is face-to-face combat it will be happening like normal war as we do sword fight and it will be held for 3 days ".

Princess Dae Yong-Ji said "Last the very hard one Sea battle ".

Princess Jang-Mi Gi asked "Where it will be happening ".

Princess Dae Yong-Ji said "Do you the white temple behind there's a river ".

Princess Jang-Mi Gi said "Yes ".

Princess Dae Yong-Ji said "The river water was coming from the Sea of Jihye and it belongs to two Kingdoms ".

Princess Jia Yon-Si added, "This sea battle will take place only when it's raining."

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo explained the reason behind it, "It's because they believe that it will be harder to win in such conditions."

Defence Minister In Tak-Soo interjected, "It will last only for one day."

Princess Jang-Mi Gi, still curious, asked, "But why this Sam War?"

Justice Minister Yun Bok-Ho answered, "When there's a big matter that both kingdoms want, and we can't decide which kingdom will have it, our ancestors created Sam War as a way to resolve the conflict."

Princess Jang-Mi Gi persisted, "What happens now?"

At that moment, King Micheon and Commander Han Lee-Soo entered the court room. Princess Jia Yon-Si asked her father, "Dad, didn't you go hunting?"

King Micheon replied, "No, I came to discuss about the Sam War."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji asked the king, "What's the reason for this Sam War, Your Majesty?"

The King replied, "Ask Commander Han Lee-Soo. He was the one who informed me."

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo asked the commander, "Please tell us what happened."

Commander Han Lee-Soo began his tale, "Princess, last night, King Min Seong-Ha and Justice Minister's son, Han Da-Lim, were drinking together."

"Da-Lim," King Min Seong-Ha said.

Han Da-Lim replied, trembling, "Yes, King?"

King Min Seong-Ha stood on the hill, surveying the rolling countryside below. He turned to Han Da-Lim and spoke, "You know one thing." Han Da-Lim looked at the King, curious. "What is it, Your Majesty?" he asked.

"The White Temple belongs to us only, not to the Jiog Kingdom," replied King Min Seong-Ha.

"But how can that be? It's located between our two kingdoms, it belongs to both of us," Han Da-Lim said, perplexed.

"I know, but our margin is bigger than theirs. The Jiog Kingdom is useless, we should rightfully own the White Temple," declared the King.

Han Da-Lim nodded in agreement, not noticing the Jiog Kingdom spy, Yun Mak-Bon, who had been listening in on their conversation.

Later that day, while King Dong Hyeon-Su of the Jiog Kingdom was out hunting, Yun Mak-Bon reported what he had heard to the King. "Tonight, they are our hunt," declared King Dong Hyeon-Su.

He marched to the Cheongug Kingdom's camp and confronted King Min Seong-Ha, calling him a "bastard."

Enraged, King Min Seong-Ha retorted that the White Temple indeed belonged to their kingdom, not the Jiog Kingdom.

But King Dong Hyeon-Su refused to back down, and his spy suggested a battle to decide the matter.

Agreeing to the challenge, King Min Seong-Ha ordered his men to prepare for war the following Tuesday.

The scene then shifted to a council of war meeting, where Commander Han Lee-Soo recounted what had happened.

Justice Minister Yun Bok-Ho was furious, demanding to know why the Commander hadn't stopped the King from speaking recklessly.

Apologizing, the Commander suggested they all speak with King Micheon about the matter.

Dae Yong-Ji, the Princess, agreed and called for a council of war to be arranged.

As the Justice Minister assented, Dae Yong-Ji requested a moment alone with King Micheon.

"Commander, alert the soldiers," King Micheon ordered as he stepped away to confer with the Princess. Afterwards the Ministers and the two Princesses start to prepare for a small talk with King Min Seong-Ha.

As everyone else left, Jang-Mi Gi lingered behind, admiring the King's throne with a covetous look in her eyes. "On the night of the Red Moon, I'll be sitting in this throne as Cheongug's First Queen," she promised with an evil smile and red eyes.

Meanwhile, King Micheon and Princess Dae Yong-Ji were discussing their next move in a private room. "I didn't expect this war to come again," Princess Dae Yong-Ji said with a worried expression.

King Micheon nodded in agreement. "Yes, we must act quickly to protect our people and our kingdom."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji suggested, "Let's hide them," to which King Micheon asked, "Where?"

"In the Palace," Princess Dae Yong-Ji replied.

King Micheon looked surprised. "Are you serious? That's too risky."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji clarified, "Not here in the Palace, but at the Mountain Palace. It's a remote area where they'll be safe."

King Micheon nodded in agreement. "That's a good idea. Let's move them tonight."

As they exited the room, Princess Dae Yong-Ji noticed Princess Princess Jang-Mi Gi still staring at the throne. Curious, she asked, "What are you staring at?"

In the shadows of the kingdom, a secret spy by the name of Yun Mak-Bon met with Sook Yeon-Ji, a mysterious figure who seemed to hold great power within Jiog's walls. Sook Yeon-Ji's words were laced with a menacing tone, as she instructed Yun Mak-Bon to keep his current task under wraps, lest he face grave consequences.

Yun Mak-Bon, clearly shaken by her warning, hesitantly spoke up. "Actually, I need…"

Sook Yeon-Ji cut him off with a sly smile, producing a small pouch filled with glittering gold coins. "Here, the coins you have asked for," she said, her voice dripping with a sinister undertone.

Yun Mak-Bon took the pouch with gratitude, but his sense of unease only deepened as Sook Yeon-Ji issued him another command. "Go now, but remember – you must spy on everyone in this kingdom and report back to me tomorrow, or face the ultimate punishment."

Yun Mak-Bon nodded, his mind racing with the implications of his new task. As he left the shadowy alcove and made his way through the bustling streets of Jiog, he knew that his every move was being watched.

Sook Yeon-Ji then made her way to meet with King Dong Hyeon-Su.

When she arrived at the King's chambers, she bowed respectfully and said, "Your Majesty, I have important information that may be of use to you in the upcoming Sam War."

King Dong Hyeon-Su raised an eyebrow and said, "What kind of information?"

Sook Yeon-Ji replied, "I have learned that the Cheongug Kingdom is low on resources and their soldiers are weak from lack of proper training. They may have the numbers, but they are not prepared for a prolonged war."

King Dong Hyeon-Su smirked and said, "That is valuable information indeed. How did you come by it?"

Sook Yeon-Ji hesitated for a moment before replying, "I have my ways, Your Majesty."

The King nodded in understanding and said, "Very well. We shall use this information to our advantage and emerge victorious in the Sam War."

Sook Yeon-Ji bowed once more and said, "I am honoured to serve you, Your Majesty." With that, she left the King's chambers and made her way back to her own quarters, her mind already working on her next plan.

Other side Justice Minister Yun Bok-Ho said "This is not a war we can win easily. We must prepare ourselves for the worst-case scenario."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji said "We need a strategy. What are the strengths and weaknesses of our army?"

Commander Han Lee-Soo said "We have a strong navy, but our land army is not as strong as Jiog Kingdom. We need to find a way to use our navy to our advantage."

Minister of Finance Park Jin-Seo said "We also need to consider the cost of this war. We have to make sure we have enough resources to sustain our army during the war."

King Micheon said "We need to gather as much information as we can about Jiog Kingdom's army, their strengths and weaknesses. We need to find a way to use their weaknesses to our advantage."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji said "I agree. We need to send spies to gather intelligence on Jiog Kingdom's army and their plans."

Justice Minister Yun Bok-Ho said "We also need to make alliances with other kingdoms to increase our strength."

King Micheon said "I will talk to other kingdoms to form an alliance. We cannot fight this war alone."

The meeting went on for several hours, discussing various strategies and plans. They all knew that the Sam War would not be an easy one, but they were determined to do whatever it takes to protect their kingdom.

The next morning King Min Seong-Ha and The Crown Prince Hyeon Jun-Woo arrived at the palace Princess Sun Hee-Yoo said, "Sister, Dad and brother have arrived at the palace."

Princess Dae Yong-Ji quickly replied, "Thank you, Sun Hee-Yoo. Please have them come to the council room immediately." Princess Sun Hee-Yoo nodded and went to escort the King and Prince to the council room. Princess Dae Yong-Ji and the other ministers were waiting for them there.

As soon as they arrived, Dae Yong-Ji greeted them and said, "Your Majesty, Prince, we have urgent matters to discuss regarding the Jiog Kingdom. Please take a seat."

King Min Seong-Ha and Prince Hyeon Jun-Woo took their seats, and Princess Dae Yong-Ji began to explain the situation with the Jiog Kingdom and their plan to attack the Cheongug Kingdom. The ministers discussed various strategies and options to defend the kingdom against the Jiog Kingdom's attack.

After much deliberation, they came up with a plan to strengthen their defences and launch a counter-attack. The King and Prince approved the plan, and the ministers were dismissed to begin their preparations for war.

As they were leaving, Princess Dae Yong-Ji stopped the King and Prince and said, "Your Majesty, I must warn you of a possible spy in our midst. We have reason to believe that the Jiog Kingdom has a secret spy working within our kingdom."

King Min Seong-Ha nodded gravely and said, "Thank you for the warning, Yong-Ji. We will increase our security measures and keep a watchful eye for any suspicious activity." With that, they parted ways, and the kingdom began to prepare for war.

Another side King Dong Hyeon-Su said to his two sons and ministers, "We must defeat Cheongug Kingdom in this war. We cannot let them take the White Temple from us."

His son, Prince Yeong Su-Jin said, "Father, I am ready to fight for our kingdom. We will not let them take what is rightfully ours."

The other son, Prince Jeong Hye-Yi , added, "We will not only defend our kingdom, but we will also attack them and show them our strength."

The ministers nodded in agreement and said, "We will provide all the support needed for our army to win this war."

King Dong Hyeon-Su said, "Good, we will prepare our army and attack them with full force. We cannot afford to lose this war."

The Jiog Kingdom army began to prepare for the war ahead, strategizing and training relentlessly.

When he was on way to his Chamber suddenly a guard run towards him and said "Sook Yeon-Ji is here King." King Dong Hyeon-Su's expression changed as soon as he heard the name. He quickly asked the guard to bring Sook Yeon-Ji to his chamber.

Prince Yeong Su-Jin and Prince Jeong Hye-Yi was looking what was happening. As the golden hour descended upon the surroundings, a gentle breeze began to stir the air, making the leaves of the trees sway in unison. Just as the world seemed to slow down, the door burst open, and two pairs of eyes turned to see Sook Yeon-Ji striding towards them with an ethereal grace. Every step she took was a work of art, a slow and deliberate movement that seemed to transcend time and space. Her beauty was unmatched, and it was as if the very universe had conspired to make her look like a goddess.

As Sook Yeon-Ji approached the two princes, a smile lit up her face, and she greeted them with a regal nod. "Greetings to the brave and handsome Crown Prince Yeong Su-Jin and Prince Jeong Hye-Yi," she said, her voice soft and alluring.

The two princes returned the greeting, happy to see her after a long time. Prince Yeong Su-Jin was quick to note the prolonged absence, asking, "Long time no meet. What brings you here?"

Sook Yeon-Ji's reply was cryptic and sent chills down their spines. "I came to give a death surprise," she said with an evil edge to her voice. The princes were taken aback, but their fear quickly turned into relief when she revealed it was just a joke. They breathed a sigh of relief, glad that their dear friend had not come to harm them.

Prince Yeong Su-Jin was still curious and asked, "So, what brings you here then?"

"I just came to talk to the King, that's all," Sook Yeon-Ji replied, her tone now pleasant and amicable.

Prince Jeong Hye-Yi, eager to be of assistance, suggested, "Okay then, dad must be waiting for you."

Sook Yeon-Ji acknowledged the suggestion and said, "Yes, so see you later, Prince."

"See you later soon," the two princes replied in unison.

As she walked away, her demeanour changed, and an evil and bad smile appeared on her face. The princes couldn't help but wonder what her true intentions were. They watched her disappear into the King's chambers, unsure of what was to come next.

As Sook Yeon-Ji disappeared from sight, Prince Jeong Hye-Yi turned to his brother with a worried look on his face. "Brother, something is going to happen," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Prince Yeong Su-Jin nodded in agreement. "Yes, I can feel it," he replied, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.

"When is Song Yoon-Ju coming?" Prince Jeong Hye-Yi asked, his curiosity piqued.

"He's coming this afternoon," Prince Yeong Su-Jin replied, his voice stern.

"After he comes to my room, bring him to me," Prince Yeong Su-Jin instructed, his eyes hardening.

Prince Jeong Hye-Yi nodded in understanding. "Okay, brother," he said, before turning on his heel and walking away.

The two princes were now acutely aware of the impending danger that lay ahead. They could feel it in their bones, and they knew that they needed to be on their guard. As they prepared for what was to come, they hoped that they would be able to face whatever challenge lay ahead and emerge victorious.

As Sook Yeon-Ji entered the King's chambers, she was met with a stern gaze from the King. He wasted no time in questioning her presence there.

"What are you doing here, Sook Yeon-Ji?" the King asked, his tone firm and authoritative.

Sook Yeon-Ji remained calm and composed, not letting the King's tone affect her. "I have come to discuss an urgent matter with you, Your Highness," she replied, her voice steady.

The King's expression softened slightly, and he motioned for her to take a seat. "Very well, let us discuss this matter then," he said, gesturing towards the empty chair in front of him.

As Sook Yeon-Ji sat down, she knew that she had to tread carefully. She had a plan, and she needed the King's cooperation to make it work. She began to speak, carefully choosing her words and modulating her tone to persuade the King.

Sook Yeon-Ji stood before the King with a determined look in her eyes. "Your Highness, I need to go to Cheongug Kingdom," she said, her voice firm and resolute.

The King looked at her with surprise. "Why do you need to go there?" he asked, his tone tinged with suspicion.

Sook Yeon-Ji took a deep breath before replying. "Everything has a reason, Your Highness, and this is something I must do," she said, her voice unwavering.

The King leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "Just tell me the reason, Sook Yeon-Ji," he demanded.

"To finish my revenge," Sook Yeon-Ji said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The King sighed, knowing that he could not deny her request. "Very well, you can go to Cheongug Kingdom. But you will also be a spy for Jiog Kingdom," he said, his voice serious.

Sook Yeon-Ji nodded in agreement. "Yes, Your Highness, I understand," she replied.

"Permission is granted," the King said, his voice final.

Sook Yeon-Ji bowed deeply. "Thank you, Your Highness," she said, before turning on her heel and leaving the chambers.

As she walked away, Sook Yeon-Ji knew that she had a difficult task ahead of her. But she was determined to see it through, no matter what the cost. She had achieved what she had set out to do, and now all that was left was to execute her plan. Little did the King and the princes know that their peaceful existence was about to be turned upside down, and Sook Yeon-Ji would be at the center of it all. Afterwards Princess Sun Hee-Yoo and Princess Jia Yon-Si walked towards the children's play area, where they saw Prince Yeong Su-Jin and Prince Jeong Hye-Yi already present. As they approached, Princess Jia Yon-Si called out, "Hey, you Jiog people!"

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo quickly grabbed her friend's hand and whispered, "Don't be rude," before turning to greet the princes with a warm smile. But Princess Jia Yon-Si was not deterred. "Leave me, I'll talk to them," she insisted before striding towards the princes. "Because of your Kingdom, we have to start the Sam War," she accused them.

Prince Yeong Su-Jin looked genuinely apologetic. "I'm very sorry if my King did anything wrong," he offered.

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo stepped in. "We also have done wrong. It's better if we apologize to each other," she suggested.

"Why should we say sorry?" Princess Jia Yon-Si demanded.

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo remained calm. "Look, both our kingdoms are at fault. It's better to make peace and become friends," she said.

Princess Jia Yon-Si grudgingly agreed. "Fine, whatever," she said.

Princess Sun Hee-Yoo smiled. "We can be friends, but when the war comes, we'll be enemies," she reminded them.

Everyone nodded in agreement, and the tension between the two kingdoms seemed to dissipate, if only for a brief moment.

The

King Dong
