Just as I plan to speak to both Max and Alex. There was a serious silence waiting for me to speak out.

When I gazed at their faces, I was speechless. I immediately left the coffee shop without saying a word.

And I left them with their thoughts.

The following morning, I returned to my office on Monday morning, it felt like I was inhaling fresh air after weeks.

The recognizable sounds of ringing phones, typing keyboards, and animated discussions filled the area.

It wasn't tranquil, as opposed to the time spent in the cabin with Alex, but it was manageable for me.

Right now, I need to have control.

I tossed my bag onto the chair beside my desk and sat down, powering on my laptop.

The screen was flooded with emails, deadlines, updates, and communications from the team. Impeccable.

Work would act as my distraction, my source of stability.
