The continent of Ru'an had flourished in comparison to times of old of Lady Aphmau with technology and magic advancing along side each other coherently .Now the with the bright radiation emitted from sun pouring over the city of Celestia enveloping every corner of darkness signifying a new day.The guards had always been hard at work splitting off into various groups some went over seeing new construction of buildings, others went patrolling around the outskirts and other went to their posts at the entrance.
In an immense castle where the lord and his relatives had resided, the servants were fast at working making breakfast for a family of ten.
In the mirror a girl clad in a blue outfit was styling her hair careful not to hurt her delicate ears, then went to wear her silver chest plate and shoulder pads. Taking a step back to examine her self more in the mirror.
"Perfect" she said sheathing her blade, exiting the room
Clang
Her boots echoed through the castle hallway with her marching towards the kitchen, greeting some of the servants along the way. Beaming in the morning gaze as the birds of the air began chirping their sweet melodies.
Upon entering she trotted to an area that a tray of breakfast items: a plate filled some nutritious fruits to the side, along with with a stack of pancakes topping it off with herbal tea.
Forcibly exhaling she stood there immobile. She had known this for months that the current lord-her uncle's health was degrading, despite everything she had tried nothing was effective.
"Lady Roseheart are you okay?" ask a servant concerned
This snapped her back to reality "Yeah, just got a little distracted is all" getting a hold of the tray and leaving the kitchen
Pushing open the doors with her shoulder, sitting down the tray on a table as she began to draw the curtains letting in some sunshine, before turning to the bed where her uncle lay.
"How did you sleep little pup" his voice very frail and weak
"It was good, l woke up early for once" Putting the tray on his lap as he got into a seated position
"Did you? Reminds me when you were training for....the DragonWard" he slowly began eating the delicacies in front of him. "Speaking of the Ward when did they....say you're getting....that promotion again"
There were intervals in his speech where he profusely coughed
Roseheart brought some water "Sometime this week but l wasn't told when exactly"
"Don't worry about it, you've trained harder then anyone and your a great leader which is why you'll make a great Lord after my passing"
The imprinted smile on Roseheart face had been eradicated and was replaced by a frown as the latter part of his sentence replaying echoing in her head "What if l dont want to become the Lord of Celestia, l don't want you to die you mean too much to me!" Her voice breaking as she spoke trying to hold back incoming tears.
Her uncle wrapping her in a hug "I'm not one to give up so easily, but you know l've tried everything so far with no success....its better to accept destiny then evade it."
A bit of time had passed as Roseheart had left her uncle to rest with his ever growing teaching sipping to become more of a reality to her, which she distracted herself by helping out the villagers in any way she could.
"Lady Roseheart my plants have been dying as of late?"
"My lady we could really use better supplies to removes the weeds"
"My lady we need more material for construction of more hospitals?"
More and more villagers would flood her with questions, she could barely keep with who to answer or with a good solutions, she stared at them petrified with more questions from other rapidly approaching, luckily one of the guards disbanded the crowd that had now formed.
"My lady?" A guard concerned asked.
"I...I-Im fine Fang thank you" catching her breath, a faint smile spreading across her lips.
In a split second multiple civilians were demanded tp return to their homes by the guards, most were in disarray but the guards kept repeating it was for their own safety. Fang the head guard and Roseheart followed to the majority of the guards to the main gate, where the main gate had been lowered. Behind the gate was a person pale-gray, foaming at the mouth eyes wild and growling with green slits.
However, the seemed to be a small group of the monsters approaching the city gates as the archers were ready to open fire. Roseheart started asking around for more information.
"My lady, they suddenly approached the walls we sent one of our own to scout out but when they approach the beast attacked them turning them into something horrifying" a guard answered.
Roseheart stayed still for a while before her ears shot up at the sound of a scream, quickly taking off hands on the bars of the gate, demanding. "Open the gate!"
"But my lady?" one of the guards questioned turning to Fang
The head guard nodded as the gate would open and Roseheart slipped through following the searching for the source of the screaming, only to find a little girl being back up to a tree as her pup barked in an attempt to draw away the monsters. However the monsters lunged at the girl biting and tearing into her skin as Roseheart leaped into action unsheathing her blade slashing one of the the monsters.
"Are you okay?" she checked on the girl, who was bleeding before their body turn to a pale-gray color and pounced on Roseheart.
The pup jumped in-between barking hoping to get their owner's attention but received only growls as Roseheart rolled and grabbed the pup before it was either bit or scratched. She heaved meeting the once warm eyes of the girl then the pup - that was now terrified, as a new horde of the monsters started creeping in.
Quickly thinking her ears twitching all she could hear were growls and the zombies ahead, to her back was nearly the same sight, but it was when the pup clung to her foot, a bit of panic setting in, maybe run through the smaller horde behind her? Use one of the zombies as a meat shield to escape? However as she was met in a dilemma trance, she was instantly snapped back to her senses by a bark and a loud growl!
