Chapter 4 - The confrontation

Boros suddenly lunged at the nearest monster, Bug God, and killed him with a single punch. Without missing a beat, he followed up with a second attack aimed at Royal Ripper.

The psychopathic monster tried to defend himself, but before he could even raise his arm, his upper half was disintegrated by the blow.

Gyoro Gyoro immediately realized there was no reasoning with the alien and gave the order.

"All monsters, kill him!"

"With pleasure," growled Fuhrer Ugly as he jumped down from the stands, followed by Gums and dozens of other monsters.

Boros welcomed the challenge with a smirk. "Come at me, all of you."

Fuhrer Ugly rushed in for a face-caving punch. Boros met it with a punch of his own, and the two fists collided. Fuhrer Ugly's face twisted in shock as his arm shattered upon impact. The bones crumbled, and the flesh tore apart.

With a single blow, Boros destroyed the cadre's arm, leaving Ugly screaming in pain. The alien wasted no time, slaughtering the monsters surrounding him with precise and devastating strikes.

Gums lunged forward, trying to swallow Boros whole, but the alien dodged easily.

"Too slow," Boros muttered as he moved under the massive creature. Placing a hand on Gums' lower jaw, he launched it upward with incredible force. The impact was so severe that Gums' teeth shattered into dust as his lower jaw slammed into his upper one.

The room fell into chaos. Monsters watched in stunned silence, many paralyzed by fear. Two cadres, Fuhrer Ugly and Gums, had been humiliated with a single blow each.

The weaker monsters, classified as threat levels Demon and below, began retreating. Only two remained to fight: Pureblood and Rhino Wrestler. Whether it was due to their ego or sheer stupidity, they stepped forward to face Boros.

Gyoro Gyoro turned to Orochi, panic flickering in her voice.

"If this continues, we'll lose significant fighting power before the war with the Hero Association even begins," she said. "Something must be done."

Orochi's voice boomed through the room. "Enough of this! Everyone retreat!"

The Monster King stepped forward, his massive presence silencing the entire chamber.

"We can't afford to lose our forces before engaging the heroes. I will handle this personally."

Boros smirked, his excitement building. "The big boss steps up already?"

Orochi fixed his gaze on Boros, a gleeful expression spreading across his monstrous face.

"I can feel it with every cell inside me," Orochi thought. "This alien is the perfect sacrifice for my resurrection."

"Boros, I am pleased to meet you," exclaimed Orochi. "I would like to have a word with you, but not here."

Before Boros could respond, Orochi's tentacles shot out, striking the ground around him. The floor shattered, and Boros fell to a lower level of the Monster Association's base. Orochi's tentacles struck again, breaking the ground beneath the alien repeatedly, forcing him deeper and deeper into the base.

This continued for dozens of floors.Orochi rose from his throne and made his way down to Boros' location, sealing the path behind him as he descended.

"I shall lead you to the proper stage," Orochi declared, his voice echoing ominously.

Deep in the Caverns

The two beasts finally landed in a cavern filled with molten rock. Boros fell into the searing liquid but emerged unscathed, shrugging off the heat.

"This is nothing," Boros said, stepping out of the molten pool. "If anything, it's like a warm bath."

He looked around, intrigued by his surroundings. Ancient ruins dotted the cavern, their eerie shapes illuminated by the glow of the molten rock.

"This place reminds me of my home planet," Boros murmured, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.

Orochi watched with interest. "Molten rock doesn't affect you at all," he observed. "I would expect nothing less from someone like you."

"Welcome to the stage of my resurrection."

Boros turned to Orochi, his curiosity piqued. "What is all this? Some kind of ancient ruins? And what do you mean by 'resurrection'?"

Orochi gestured toward the cavern. "This is an ancient shrine I discovered. Not even my creator knows of this place."

Boros frowned thoughtfully. "I see... Before we fight, tell me your name. I want to hear your story before I crush you."

Orochi chuckled. "Very well, but in exchange, you must tell me yours first."

Boros crossed his arms. "Fine."

"As you know, I am Boros, the Dominator of the Universe," he began confidently. "To survive the harsh environment of my home planet, my species evolved over millennia, reaching the pinnacle of living beings."

"I, in particular, possess recovery, physical strength, and latent energy far beyond any other. I used my power to conquer planets, one after another."

"I faced many opponents: heroes who slew great evils, villains whose schemes shaped worlds, unmatched champions from countless planets. But none could challenge me."

Boros' voice grew somber. "My power came at a price. Soon, I knew only the torment of insufferable boredom. Then, a great seer foretold that one day, I would find a worthy fight on Earth. That prophecy brought me here."

"For twenty years, I searched for this planet. Many doubted the prophecy, thinking it was a lie meant to lure me away. But I found the truth: Earth holds foes more powerful and exciting than any other world I've seen. And now, I believe you are one of them."

Boros' eyes gleamed with anticipation. "Give meaning to my existence. That is why I am here."

Orochi's horrifying smirk widened.

"A fascinating tale indeed," Orochi said. "I am the Monster King, Orochi."

"I was once human, but under Gyoro Gyoro's tutelage, I was selected from the strongest to undergo fusion, experimentation, and endless battles."

"I overcame death countless times, growing into a monster through sheer sacrifice. But eventually, Gyoro's offerings no longer satisfied me."

Orochi's gaze grew darker. "One day, I instinctively ventured deep into the Earth, seeking to draw energy from its core. That's when I discovered this shrine."

He gestured toward the walls, where ancient murals depicted monstrous figures.

"It was fate," Orochi said. "The monster on this mural... It looks exactly like me."

"Even more strangely, though the ancient text should have been indecipherable, I could read it. It prophesied: 'A God shall resurrect on this Earth when a worthy sacrifice is offered upon this altar.'"

Orochi's voice grew with fervor. "I was awakened to heaven's will. My transformation was no accident—I was destined to become a God."

"Since then, I've obeyed Gyoro Gyoro only as a front, while I searched for the perfect sacrifice to fulfill this prophecy. And now, fate has delivered you to me."

Boros smirked. "If you think I'll let you use me for some ritual, you're gravely mistaken."

"Oh, I don't think so," Orochi hissed. "Let the ceremony begin!"

With that, Orochi lunged at Boros, and the battle began.
