I dont see her as Isla and I as Sera.

We are enemy and victim.

She betrayed me.

As I retracted my sword, my eyes remained glued onto the woman in front of me as she fell.

Her beautiful white blouse was damp and stained with the deep red liquid of her blood. Her face drained of life, save for the expression of surprise and betrayal.

"But- I-I thought-.." She coughed out as she clasped her hand over the deep gash across her stomach. "We were supposed to be -"

"Friends?"

Her face scrunched in pain at the harshness of my words. Her eyes flickering between me and the blood gushing from beneath her hand and staining her blouse further.

A mocking chuckle escaped my throat before I could stop myself.

I crouched down in front of her, smiling almost reassuringly as I cupped her face into my hand. Her skin was soft and smooth beneath my fingertips as I gently caressed it with my thumb. Her eyes were full of betrayal, fear, and heartbreak. My heart clenched.

Heartbreak? Why would she feel that? we weren't anything more than acquaintances.

I grasped her chin between my index and thumb, jerking her face closer to mine as I stared into her eyes with a burning hatred for her, for everything she'd done to me.

"Did you really think we could ever be friends?" I asked, tilting my head at her as I kept her face tilted up to keep her eyes on me.

"..you said -" She started in a quiet whisper before I pushed my sword into the wound on her stomach once again. I twisted the blade as I watched her expression change from one of pain to pure agony.

"You really believed my every word? You really believed I'd be truthful with you after what you did to me?" I asked, expecting no response from her.

To my surprise, she grasped her hand over mine on the handle of my sword. I, without hesitation, shoved the blade further into her stomach.

She gasped loudly before pulling the blade closer to her, effectively digging the handle of my sword into the soft, plump flesh of her stomach through her blouse. "No, but I hoped."

She hoped we'd be friends? Was she serious?

In response, I pulled my sword from her stomach and placed my hand against her chest. I pushed her to lay back as I stood up before placing my foot over her stomach and pressing down on the wound.

"I'd rather die."

"I still forgive you.. I deserve this." She whispered out.

As the words left her mouth, she stopped fighting. Her face was pale and expressionless as I crouched down and grabbed the fabric of her skirt, using it to clean her blood off of my sword. The fabric rustled and stretched, allowing a small mirror to fall from her pocket.

The plain steel lid fell open, and the mirror fell onto the ground and into her pool of blood. I watched it as I continued cleaning my sword when a sudden thought formed in my head: Grab it. Take the mirror. It's ours now.

I reluctantly stretched out my hand and scooped the bloodied little mirror into my palm. I lifted the lid and looked into the circular shape as blood ran down the reflective surface.

I found myself staring at my reflection for what felt like forever. The blood framed my face as I realized what I'd done.

She forgave me...? Even after I blamed her for my mess?
