My Royal Desires

I woke up this morning to my rickety old cottage. I walked downstairs to see if there was any food. There was nothing, not even a loaf of bread. I knew my parents were struggling to be able to make money, but I had no knowledge that it would become this dismal.I sighed. I would have to make do for now. I had to head to my school; morning classes would be in just half an hour.I walked through downtown as I made my way to school, walking on the cobblestone paths, passing through vendors on the streets and small brick cottages lining the road.I soon noticed a group of adolescents; they seemed to be heading in my direction. Oh shit! I realized that they were the people who consistently bullied me during school. I had no idea why they wished to bully me. Though it was most likely because they had no other way of expressing their anger.I quickly ran into a small alley between two of the small cottages. I hoped they wouldn't see me and I pressed myself against the wall, hoping that I was not visible.I shut my eyes, they couldn't possibly see me, could they?"Oh my spirits, I think it's him, over there!" I heard a voice say.Fuck! I saw the group blocking the exit, eliminating my only chance of escape."Please, don't hurt me," I said quietly.The one who seemed to be the ringleader of the group, Derrick I thought his name was, punched me in my face. I fell to the ground tasting blood."Stop it!" I shoutedDerrick laughed at me."Now this is just sad, you cant even defend yourself!" he said, still laughing at me.Suddenly out of nowhere, I saw a bolt of shadow magic slam into Derrick. He was smashed into the wall with a brutal impact, I even thought I heard one of his bones snap. He screamed in pain."What the fuck?!" Screamed Derrick.Oh my spirits! Someone had saved me! But who. Suddenly the figure came into view and... holy shit!!! It was Noc, the fucking heir to the throne of my country Elantasia. The prince of midnight, they called him. He was a wolf anthro with fur the color of night but dark blue on his ears and tail"What the hell is going on here?!" He said with authority.Derrick and his friends looked terrified in that moment."I-I, forgive me your majesty, I-I mean your highness, I mean...""Consider this your one and only warning, you know that assault is strictly forbidden in these lands," he said.Derrick and his friends quickly ran off, disappearing into town leaving us alone."Hey, are you alright? I saw they had gotten you very badly," said Noc.I didn't know how to respond."Y-y-yes, I am alright, thank you s-so much," god, I sounded so pathetic with the way I was speaking.I finally took a minute to fully study his face. Oh wow, I realized he was actually quite attractive. No, I would not allow myself to have these thoughts, especially on the heir to the throne of the country, oh my spirits."Good, I'm sorry that they did that, that I wasn't quick enough to stop them," Noc said."N-no, it's fine, I'm okay now and that's all that matters," I said.He smiled. I felt myself blush. He really was attractive, I couldn't force myself not to notice this specific detail. He had a sharp jaw, distinct features, and a clearly toned body I could tell even though he was wearing a cloak."Well, you can let me know if they continue to bother you, I will put a stop to it,""T-thank you, s-so much," I said probably still sounding like a damn loser.He smiled again before using his magic, shadow-wings appeared on his back and he flew off into the distance.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I could barely concentrate after I had arrived at school. I mean who would be able to if they had encountered the future ruler of their country?!I should have payed better attention because in my Chemistry class we were supposed to be taking very important notes on fission and fusion and I had written a scarce amount of the required notes."Hey," my friend Melaine whispered to me from her desk right next to mine. "I didn't get the notes, what were they again?" She asked.Damn, she never took her own notes, probably because she was addicted to tik tok and was on her phone the whole class."Sorry, I wasn't quite paying attention," I responded.The teacher paused the lecture."Malaine and Axel, please quiet down, this is not a social activity!" The teacher snapped."Y-yes, sorry miss," I replied embarrassed.Melaine didn't seem to notice since she was on her phone again.After class, it was clear Melaine had not taken any notes during class today."Please Axel, I'm about to fail this shitty class, I need the notes!" She said."Oh, sorry, I guess I was distracted today," I responded."Oh really?" She said "is a certain someone on your mind?""N-NO! Um, I guess, when that asshole Derrick was trying to beat me up, this guy saved me and happened to be... Noc." I finnished."Wait, do you mean the heir to the throne?! That Noc?!" She said estatically."Yep.""Oh my god, no fucking way! You definitely are crushing on him though!" She said a bit too loudly."W-what?! Of course not!""Whatever you say" she said with a wink before walking in the opposite direction of me to her next class.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After class when I went home, my Mother and Father still weren't home. I sighed. I felt like they were constantly working long hours these days. We were barely scraping by and barely had enough money to keep the house. I needed to get a job.I realized I should probably start looking now rather than later. I went on my desktop computer looking for job openings.I finally found one in a market near my house, the pay was terrible though, only 2 copper pieces an hour.I sighed. I guess that was all I could do.Hi guys, I hope you all liked this chapter.
