Chereads / The Maledicta System: Lord Of The Abyss / Chapter 11 - Six Years of Growth

Chapter 11 - Six Years of Growth

Lana and Elizabeth had made a firm decision—Lycius was not yet ready to fight Elizabeth.

It wasn't because Elizabeth was stronger than Lana. No, the two sisters stood as equal Queens in their own domains of power. But the difference lay in their methods of combat.

Lana, a warrior who wielded her greatsword with absolute mastery, could control her strength. She had the ability to suppress her power, allowing her to spar with her son without instantly obliterating him.

Elizabeth, however, was a mage.

And for mages, power wasn't something that could simply be held back. The nature of magic dictated that every spell used had to be efficient—no wasted mana, no unnecessary restraint. A mage who tried to use weaker spells would ultimately cripple themselves in battle, draining their mana reserves without ever landing a decisive blow.

Thus, for now, sparring with Elizabeth was too dangerous.

And so, Lycius continued his training under both his mother and aunt, but in separate disciplines—physical combat with Lana and magical cultivation with Elizabeth.

---

A Child No More. Six years had passed.

Lycius was no longer an infant, no longer the newborn who had first awakened into this world. He was now six years old, though his body, mind, and power were far beyond what his age suggested.

Due to his DragonBorn blood, his growth had been accelerated. His body had developed at an unnatural pace, now standing taller and more built than most human children twice his age. His features, once cherubic, had matured into something borderline ethereal—his dark golden eyes gleamed with draconic majesty, and his hair, thick and radiant, shimmered under the sunlight.

If his appearance was already beyond perfection, then his skills were nothing short of divine craftsmanship.

In six years, Lycius had forged himself into a warrior of unimaginable talent.

His strength, stamina, reflexes, mana control, senses, and scythemanship had all reached a national rank—a level feared and revered across the continent. His training had been relentless:

Brutal physical sparring with Lana, where he learned how to withstand blows that could shatter mountains.

Intense magical cultivation with Elizabeth, where he refined his mana and Qi, strengthening the foundation of his existence.

Mastery over his unique cultivation system, a fusion of scythe combat and magical prowess, allowing him to channel both raw destruction and graceful precision.

Despite the grueling training, their lives remained balanced. Hunting, feasting, laughter, and family outings—nothing had changed. They lived each day as if it were their last, cherishing every moment together.

---

In the vast, open wilderness, Lycius sat cross-legged upon a meditation mat, his eyes shut in deep concentration.

He inhaled. The air around him quivered, responding to the sheer presence of his Dragonic Aether.

Then, he exhaled—his breath resonated with power, sending faint ripples across the ground.

Slowly, his alluring drake-golden eyes opened, their depths swirling with the wisdom of someone far beyond his years.

Before him, two holographic blue screens hovered in the air. He examined them silently.

Beside him sat Elizabeth, her breathtaking beauty even more striking than before. Her silken white hair cascaded down her back, and her golden irises gleamed like miniature suns. Though her eyes were closed, her presence was overwhelming. A malevolent yet divine golden aura surrounded her, radiating an energy so dense that the very air distorted around her.

This was the power of the Dragon Queen—a force capable of devouring the heavens.

But Lycius did not falter. He had grown.

He turned his attention back to the status window before him.

---

Even with all his power and mastery, the true depths of the Void Cultivation Technique had yet to be unlocked.

For now, it existed only as a seed within him—a power waiting to be nurtured, cultivated, and fully embraced.

One day, when Lycius comprehended the abyss completely, he would no longer be bound by mortal concepts of strength.

At that moment, even his mother, the Demon Queen, and his aunt, the Dragon Queen, would stand as mere stepping stones toward his true potential.

And beyond that?

Even the Gods themselves would tremble. But for now—Lycius had truly grown.

Despite his level-growth being suspended, his development was monstrous. His stats, though still in the tens of thousands, had now become something he could fully comprehend and control.

In the past, he had felt his power but did not understand it—like an ocean too vast for him to grasp.

But now, he understood exactly what he was capable of.

And more importantly, he now knew just how far he still had to go.

Even with all this strength, he could only handle 5% of Lana's power.

That percentage might seem small—but for anyone else, it was an impossibility.

Lana, the Demon Queen, was a force beyond mortal comprehension. Only a handful of beings in the mortal realm could withstand even 5% of her strength, and those beings were legends—King-ranked veterans, warriors who stood at the peak of the world's power structure.

Yet Lycius, at just six years old, had already reached that level.

And he was still just getting started.

A slow smirk crept across his lips.

The road ahead was long… but he would walk it.

One day, he would no longer be bound by numbers or percentages.

One day, even his mother's power would no longer be unreachable.

And on that day…

The world would know his name.
