Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 - The Reveal

Rosy's POV

"Rosy, slow down!!"

"Slow down!"

I hear a voice call from behind me. Why would anyone be so rude as to stop a girl from riding a pink scooter at a death rate speed? I stopped abruptly jerking forward thanks to high speeds. Well, at least the sun glasses made it easier to hide a face full of despair after nearly crashing head first into a snow ball. I stopped not because I wanted to, but because there's a herd of black limos surrounding me at the moment. Now there's just a man holding a black umbrella over my head like I didn't already know the weather condition. Two other men run out of the cars and the third one rushes over to the side of one the limos while holding another black umbrella. In a split second, a man in a black coat alights from the car heading straight towards me.

I definitely know what this is about. As I watched him approached, I crossed my arms with a pouted look on my face. He's mad, but he has to see that I am too.

"Don't you see it's snowing?" He hissed at me but with a concerned look in his eyes. I am so not giving in to this.

"Leo, I don't have time for any of this. Get straight to the point please. I've been enjoying life recently. Don't ruin it for me!" I say while releasing my crossed arms unto the handle bars, giving him the impression that I was already impatient. I didn't forget to maintain the pouted face. He can't be mad at me while I look cute in a fur coat.

"Dad's finally approved of Liam, you should bring him home sometime," he says with an awkward smile completely yet politely ignoring my last comment.

"Really?" I say with an outburst of happiness while taking off my sun glasses. "I'll do it after grandpa's birthday." Gasping as though I just had the most amazing idea, I grab him by the sleeve, "You should prepare us some gifts for when we arrive."

"Of course," he nodded slightly with a reassuring tone. At least I could count on him.

I take a peek at the watch on my hand. It's a small pink one my husband got me for anniversary. "I should go now," I utter looking up to face him. He had already cleared the path as he was standing right in front of the scooter. I put on my sun glasses once again and adjust my wedding ring so that it fits perfectly. I didn't need a reminder to adjust my coat either. It's a furred, light pink coat, perfect for the weather. I made sure it was all covered up to my neck but with enough space to reveal the gold necklace my husband got me.

"Be careful," he yells at me the moment I take off with my machine. All I could do was raise a waving hand from my new distance from him without looking back. I could have sworn for a moment there, I heard him curse under his breath. He probably is still worried about me moving so fast while it's snowing. "I'll be fine," I thought to myself in reassurance.

I made it to the City Central hospital. The entire aim of making it to the hospital was so that I could finally get my tests results. For some reason, I think I'm more of a clods than I usually am, and not to mention that giddy feeling inside of me. I checked into a room and laid on the bed while waiting for the doctor. I could feel myself standing right on the thin line between reality and wonderland. I wished to be Alice right now. Maybe I'd finally be able to get away from so much drama.

Someone knocks on the door lightly as though trying hard to make sure it doesn't crumble. I may have checked into one of the oldest rooms in the building. The bed creaked with even the slightest movements and the linoleum used on the floor was chipped and old. The door… "That's not a door, that's termites holding hands," I say to myself with a chuckle.

"Open," I tried yelling as nicely as I could. The doctor walks in with a grey colored file. I already assumed it was my test results and considering the cheerful look on his face, he's probably gathered the taught that whatever he was about to burst out was good news. I didn't plan on giving him a different impression.

"We'll have to conduct one last test on you. But don't worry, I know you're anxious to see the results. I just need to make sure your heartbeat's normal. Is that okay?"

"Yes doc," trying hard to hide my already obvious anxiety.

He grabs an old, rusty seat by the corner of the room. I never actually noticed it was there. More surprisingly, he's still sat up- straight on the chair despite its condition. I can't quiet the taught of seeing him 'accidently' fall to the ground. If I was to give the seat a good nudge, it'll most likely be my most accomplished goal for the day.

Slowly, he raises the ends of a stethoscope that had been hanging on his neck straight to his ears. He's placed the flat end right on my tummy and moving gently along the area like he was in search of something. A cold shiver runs down my spine as the stethoscope is not only cold but feels ticklish as he moves it round my tummy. After about 5 mins of searching for whatever, he looks up at me with a mile wide smile.

"Congratulations, you're pregnant," the doctors yells happily as though the baby was his own. His joy was more contagious than I thought it would be. I'm finally going to be a mother. This is the best news all week.

"Really?" I try as much as I can not to scream but sound delightedly shocked as well.

"Indeed, you are. But you are only 7 to 8 weeks pregnant. It's not very stable. Take lots of rest, understand?" the doctor warns in a cautious tone.

"I understand. Thank you," I reply with a faint smile while rubbing my tummy as though it was already a huge bump. I'm going to be a mother. The thoughts keep echoing in my head.

The doctor nods and stands to leave the room. I waited to make sure he was a good distance away from the room so that I can finally erupt joyfully. I pick my phone up that layed at the side of the bed.

"Liam would be very happy about this," I thought, already dialing his number.
