Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: White Opal and Space?

Being suspended in such a place gave Evie a freefall sensory experience. She had little time to adapt when abounding information was drilled into her brain. Her sharp brows winced from pain, disarray, and a wave of dizziness. Evie closed her eyes to focus.

There was an assortment of information; About the White Opal, this space, its function, its use, and its manual.

When Evie opened her eyes, they reflected calm and enlightenment. She was utterly unperturbed by the out-of-ordinary experience, instead, she became intrigued.

With her blood, a pact was formed with the White Opal, thus this space was hers to wield. She could model it into another form of storage; like a warehouse cubic space or an open field space. Its current state was that of a spherical white space. As she understood, the spherical space wasn't infinitely huge as the illusion it cast, it had a kilometer-long diameter.

This wasn't huge but Evie believed it was adequate for her upcoming plan.

After understanding, she switched the space model to a black flat surface like an open field. It was as wide and long as two soccer fields, the height above that surface was two and a half meters.

Evie smiled and she began to walk around. This wasn't to sight-see but to get a sense of control of her body within the space. Unlike before, she felt stable. She no longer felt weightlessness or a lack of direction. The space naturally adjusted to avoid any inconvenience.

This would be the new start-up model of her space.

To her understanding, there were four stages of evolution to this space. The knowledge she inherited also stated that this space would grow with her, as for how that would come about, she truly had no clue. The Opal had just achieved its first evolution stage. The stages could also be roughly compared to aging; sprouting, growth, maturity, and blossoming.

As Evie walked around, she had the chance to digest some knowledge.

Time within this space was optimally stagnant. The condition anything was placed here would remain the same when it got out. Of course, this could be manipulated by the Opal wielder.

It was possible to stay within the space, build something, cook food, or do other activities. However, for this situation time would only be accelerated within the space such that little time passed outside. The ratio was 5:1.

The manual hinted that at its maturity stage, there would be no passage of time outside no matter how much time was spent within the space.

Evie willed to exit and found herself in her office just as before.

The whole episode felt like a hallucination if not the throbbing of her temples from digesting the information constantly being assimilated into her knowledge base.

Evie gave a complicated glance at the White Opal gemstone in her fingers. This little thing was extremely valuable. In more ways than one…

As far as she knew, this was the former vessel of the space, but now the space was integrated within her. The pendant itself had to be special if it could accommodate such an entity.

'Also…' she suppressed the thought that had just popped up.

After staring at it for a while she threw it in the space. The White Opal disappeared from her hand. Whatever was in there was automatically registered in her mind such that she could remember them with a thought. She was like a supercomputer.

Evie chuckled.

When Evie thought of the uses of her newfound space, a smile crept to her lips at all the possibilities. She could build a cottage or cabin, fix up a cooking space and sleeping place, set up a garden, or even get some animals to raise… that sounded like a good direction to get started. She took her notebook and updated the new idea. With the space, her supplies were much more convenient to store.

Tap! Tap!

However, this space should never be known to anyone else, she knew the risk of having such a thing and she was not willing to risk it to test the humanity of humans. She had come to cultivate a discerning eye for people within five years. Greed and envy could very well be poison.

As far as she was concerned, they didn't seem at all very human in her earlier visions.

So a deposit place was needed, something like a warehouse…

'Ah! A warehouse.'

It would be just like stocking for a supermarket opening or mall establishment. Eureka.

'I'm A genius.'

Evie's lips pulled up as her mind wandered constantly updating her ideas in the notebook. She was beginning to have fun with this.

Time passes by quickly when one is having fun.

Soon, it was almost midday, and the time for her appointment was due. Evie stood up to go receive her guest.

"Please wait here, it won't take long, Sir." A receptionist ushered a group of three to a lounge.

Asher waited in a private waiting room observing the elegant arrangement with a bright setting. This room didn't have the stuffy air of a workplace. From the moment he set foot in the company, he had observed the staff, workers, working environment, and atmosphere.

Everyone was diligent, self-driven, and respectful. They carried themselves with cheer and confidence. It was clear that they were well-disciplined.

He could see the reflection of their investigation report. With such a motivated workforce, it was bound to be a fruitful business.

This sparked more curiosity of the person who built up the L.A company.

"This is the room, Miss" A monotone voice sounded outside of the room.

Asher figured that his Host had come.

The door cracked open.

Asher raised his gaze to meet a pair of icy unfeeling eyes. They held an air of royal detachment and indifference in her jewel-like amethyst irises. The Violet pool ran so deep that Asher felt he had gazed into an abyss.

Asher immediately knew this was the main character of the day's meeting. He would never have believed that such a young woman had such an imposing demeanor if he hadn't met her personally.

'Surely, pictures don't do her justice. It is a big understatement of the real person.'

Asher lamented silently after sweeping her silhouette. Asher had never been moved by a woman's beauty but at this moment he had to reevaluate his beauty standards. Her beauty was ethereal, so much so that Asher thought she was a perfectly crafted porcelain doll.

Immediately after, his gaze found the two following behind, a neatly dressed middle-aged woman and an elderly man. They stood respectfully behind the young Lady, not showing any interest in anything else.

His observation didn't last longer than a second.

However, he wasn't the only one doing an observation. Evie's gaze swept the room.

She scanned the room, his lawyer, his secretary, and finally him in a single sweep. Asher felt a chill from the cold piercing gaze on him like she could see into his very soul essence.

He rose from his seat and extended his hand.

"I finally get to meet you, Miss, Adrienne. It is a pleasure." He greeted. His hand jolted slightly when a cold soft slender yet firm hand caught his hand.

Evie put on a standard business smile and replied, "The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Demir. Sorry for the wait."

Surprisingly, like her untroubled gaze, Evie's voice was crisp and clear, with a melodious tone.

"It was no inconvenience," assured Asher. His displeasure from the wait melted away, much to his surprise.

"The meeting is at my office, Come with me," Evie motioned and stepped aside to make space for Asher.

Asher walked beside her while his eyes scanned his surroundings. Their lawyers and personal secretaries followed a few steps behind them.

Evie glanced at Asher and found his gaze was wondering. She realized he must have been curious about the company.

"Is there anything that piques your interest?"

"No. I must say, this is beyond my expectations. I heard rumors, but it is surely best to witness it personally. I am marveled you achieved this a mere half-decade. Miss Adrienne, your business acumen is astounding," Asher praised Evie, nevertheless, his deep voice didn't fluctuate or reveal any emotion.

Evie assumed this was courtesy lip service.

Evie smiled, "There isn't anything outstanding about such an achievement. Having the right people and capable partners made it possible."

She inwardly sneered, 'What rumors?'

Asher glanced to see an unflustered face. She was completely unconvinced of his genuine praise.

Evie took Asher and his group to the private elevator that led to her office. It was a silent uninterrupted lift.

Ding!
