—They finally let me out. I was sick of being the jailer of this second-rate demon.
Those words left my lips with a sardonic smile, while inside me exhaustion and fury clashed in an uncontrollable whirlwind. It sickened me to think that my existence had been reduced to the gloom of an arcane seal—to be nothing more than a guardian of a darkness that was not mine. In that forced confinement, I watched my very essence wither away, even though deep inside the flame of rebellion still burned. Had it not been for that long-awaited moment of liberation, I would never have had the courage—or the need—to unleash my true power, a power capable of reducing this place to fire and blood, purely out of spite.
