Luna's eyes fluttered open, met by the warm, familiar gaze of Rhyns. His smile, a slow, sweet curve of his lips, lit up his face like the morning sun.
"Good morning, my love," he whispered, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine.
"Good morning," Luna murmured back, her voice still thick with sleep. She reached out, her fingers tracing the line of his jaw, feeling the rough stubble against her skin.
Rhyns leaned down, his breath warm against her cheek as he whispered, "You look so beautiful when you sleep."
Luna's heart fluttered at his words, a warmth spreading through her chest. She closed her eyes, enjoying the feel of his lips brushing against her forehead, then the corner of her mouth.
Still half-asleep, Luna was showered with kisses from Rhyns all over her face. She laughed, fully awake now, charmed by his tenderness.
"Sorry, love, I just can't resist showering you with kisses when this angelic, beautiful lady is still half-asleep," Rhyns teased, before giving her a soft kiss on the lips. How could he resist her? Luna asleep looked like a goddess. Her long, wavy brownish hair was scattered across the bed. Her rosy, delicate lips seemed to beg for a kiss.
"This lovely lady," Rhyns thought, "I'll never get tired of looking at her angelic face. Even asleep, she looks happy and peaceful."
"Ugh, now I'm fully awake..." Luna said, laughing as she gently pushed her husband away.
Luna and Rhyns locked eyes, a tempest of desire swirling between them. The air crackled with tension, thick enough to cut.
Rhyns leaned in, his lips brushing against hers with a tantalizing slowness that sent shivers coursing through her body. Each kiss began as a feather-light caress, but soon morphed into something deeper—insistent, demanding. Luna melted into his embrace, her world shrinking down to just the two of them, lost in the magic of their love.
As their mouths moved together, Rhyns' hands roamed hungrily over Luna's body, exploring the curves he knew so well. He slid his fingers along her arms, tracing the delicate lines of her skin, before trailing down to her waist, where he pulled her closer, their bodies fitting together like pieces of a puzzle. His touch was electric, igniting her senses and making her pulse race.
With a sudden intensity, Rhyns deepened the kiss, his lips capturing hers with a fierce urgency. Luna gasped, her back arching as he pressed his body against hers, the weight of him a delicious pressure that made her feel wanted and cherished. His hands slipped beneath her nightdress, fingers grazing her stomach, sending waves of heat radiating through her.
Luna's breath hitched as Rhyns cupped her breast, his thumb brushing over her sensitive skin, teasing and tantalizing. The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of them, lost in a whirlwind of passion. She could feel the heat radiating from him, a warmth that enveloped her and made her skin tingle.
Their kisses grew more fervent, more urgent, as if they were trying to consume each other whole. Rhyns' hands traveled lower, his fingers dancing along her thighs, pulling her legs apart as he nestled between them. Luna gasped again, feeling the heat of his body pressed against her, the friction igniting a fire deep within.
"Luna," Rhyns murmured against her lips, his voice low and husky, filled with raw need. "I love you."
The intensity of his gaze held her captive, but just as the moment threatened to spiral into something all-consuming, the door creaked open, shattering the charged atmosphere and leaving them both breathless.
"Mommyyy! My poop is almost coming out! Help meee!" Rocco's adorable three-year-old voice echoed through the room.
Startled, Luna quickly pushed Rhyns, who tumbled to the floor with a surprised yelp. The heat of their moment lingered, but embarrassment washed over Luna instantly. Her cheeks flushed crimson.
She scrambled up, rushing to Rocco's side. Scooping him up, she hurried him to the bathroom and helped him onto the toilet. While adjusting the strap of her nightdress, which had slipped from her shoulder, she glanced in the mirror. Her face was bright red, the lingering warmth of their encounter still palpable.
Meanwhile, Rhyns, chuckling, stood up from the floor, shaking his head as he brushed his hair back from his forehead. He was still very aware of his arousal. "We just did it last night, and again this morning. And now, I can't resist her again. Can't blame me—she's irresistible," he thought.
"All done, love?" Rhyns asked Luna, a playful grin on his face, his eyes still full of desire.
Luna rolled her eyes, but a smile played on her lips. "This man will give me a heart attack one day!" she thought. "How could he forget to lock the door?"
"Stop it, Rhyns. You're going to be late. Go shower—it might help cool things down," Luna teased as she dressed Rocco.
"What? How could you—you're so cruel!" Rhyns feigned outrage, a sweet smile betraying his words.
"Shower... shower... Dadda! Shower, Dadda work! Fast... fast... fast!" Rocco suddenly yelled, running to Rhyns. His cute outburst cheered Rhyns, who laughed and hugged his son.
"Okay, fine, young man. I'll go take a shower," Rhyns replied before kissing Rocco's cheek. He gave Luna a teasing look and said, "Love, you owe me big time," his voice was suggestive, eyebrow raised.
"Haha, whatever," Luna replied, shaking her head. She picked up Rocco and carried him to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Luna hummed a happy tune as she stirred the breakfast porridge, her eyes twinkling with contentment. Rocco, perched in his highchair, happily munched on his mashed milky potatoes, oblivious to the playful tension brewing in the air.
Rhyns, a mischievous glint in his eyes, snuck up behind Luna, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his lips in her neck. "Hey, you might burn yourself," Luna laughed, trying to suppress the shiver that ran down her spine.
Rhyns, however, was not easily deterred. He cupped Luna's shoulders, his fingers gently tracing the curve of her breasts, and whispered, "I will definitely run back here later to claim the compensation you owe me," his voice laced with playful teasing.
Luna, feeling the familiar stirring within, quickly swatted his hands away, pushing him back onto a dining chair with a playful laugh. "You're such a tease," she said, shaking her head, but she couldn't help the blush that crept onto her cheeks. "Where will that lead us? You'll miss your entire meeting!"
Rhyns chuckled, shaking his head as he watched his wife. "Can't blame me, love. You're too irresistible," he replied, coughing to mask the lingering desire in his voice.
Later, at the breakfast table, Luna asked, "By the way, love, Mom asked if I'm coming home for Meagan's wedding." Meagan was her cousin and closest friend.
Rhyns, busy with his breakfast, looked up. "Oh, it's Meagan's wedding? How long will you be there?"
"Well, since I haven't been back to the Philippines since we moved here, I was thinking of staying for two to three weeks. I'll treat it as a vacation too. I miss my country and everyone there," Luna said, her voice filled with excitement.
Rhyns pondered. Three weeks? That seemed like a long time to be away from his wife and son. He couldn't bear to be apart from them for even a day, let alone three weeks. But he knew this was the one favor Luna had asked for since they'd been married. She had always put their family first, putting her own desires aside.
Luna noticed the sadness in Rhyns' eyes. "It's okay, love. If you don't want us to leave that long, I understand," she said with a forced smile, though her heart ached. "I can just go for the wedding and come back right away."
Rhyns took a deep breath, deciding to put aside his selfishness. "No, love. You can stay for three weeks. I think I can handle missing you for that long," he said, forcing a smile.
Luna's face lit up. "Thank you, love! I promise, I'll make it up to you!" she exclaimed, jumping up to hug him tightly.
Rhyns hugged her back, but inside, his heart felt heavy. He saw the unbridled joy in Luna's eyes, a joy she rarely showed, especially since her life revolved around their family. He realized that Luna had never been selfish in her choices, so why shouldn't he give her the chance to be happy and be with the people she loved?
How could I not be possessive of Luna? Rhyns thought. She's the luckiest man in the world - a perfect wife, loving and caring. Even in her simple clothes and messy hair every morning, she's the most beautiful woman to me. I've loved her since the moment we met.
Even though the thought of three weeks without her was a trial, he would do anything to make Luna happy. She deserved it all.
