Chapter 5 - An Old Enemy II

The next day Ophelia woke up groaning in pain, her head pounding with a sharp headache. She looked around and realized she had fallen asleep still in the same spot from last night.

She tried to stand up and her body was stiff, and her knees ached. She summoned her courage and managed to crawl back to the room.

She slowly stood back on her feet and entered the bathroom stripped naked, she put on the shower making it wet her body.

She emerged from the bathroom, her soft black hair dripping wet, framing her heart-shaped face like a dark halo. Her warm, White skin glistened with dewy freshness, radiating a natural glow.

She got out of the bathroom with a frown on her face she opened the wardrobe and some of the clothes fell she couldn't even see the perfect ones to wear.

Suddenly her phone bipped on the bed, she smiled faintly remembering she had not even touched the phone ever since Dave had kidnapped her.

She picked up the phone and noticed ten missed calls from Milana, she sat by the side of the bed and dialed her number again.

After assuring her that she was okay she checked the remaining notifications. Five messages from Rome, ignoring it she decided to check her email.

She saw a message from an industry she had applied to for the past two months. It will also end up the same way she said smiling faintly.

She was still in a daze when another email was sent from the same company surprised she decided to check it.

Checking the messages she saw that our application was accepted they asked her to come in for an interview as early as possible.

"Am I seeing wrong?" Ophelia questioned herself rechecking the content to confirm.

Witnessing it was real all her energy came back in a flash. She ran to the wardrobe and found matching office wear, she checked for matching heels and a bag.

She applied a little makeup checking the mirror she noticed a little wardrobe underneath she slowly opened it and noticed tons of jewelry.

Wow, I thought he was only cold and arrogant, I can't believe he has some kind of decency in him Ophelia lamented as she admired the jewelry.

She puts on a golden one that least matches the clothes she was putting on. After confirming that she was set to go, she grabbed some side dishes and dashed out of the house.

Taking a taxi she finally arrived in Steller Reels entertainment industry it was among one of the top 10 industries in Italy, and even though it was popular Ophelia still wished she could work in one of the top 5 industries.

Taking the elevator to the director's office her heart beat faster she was happy and scared at the same time after all this was the only time she was called for an interview after five good years of hardship.

She knocked on the door lightly and a young lady in her twenties welcomed her in, she asked her to sit and wait patiently for the director to call her in. After a while, she was asked to come in.

On entering she saw a young lady standing by the window seat with her back facing Ophelia.

She must be the director Ophelia whispered internally as she slowly closed the door behind her.

The director turned back slowly to face Ophelia and all the blood in her body froze, she stood in place with only a word escaping her lips. Ce…le..ne G…r..ey.

The director walked closer to her with a fake smile escaping her lips. She moved her mouth closer to Ophelia's ear, "Surprise" she exclaimed while laughing hysterically.

How does it feel to see an old friend, Ophelia, Don't you miss your old friend. She added returning to her seat.

"Celene you bitch" How dare you show up in front of me again? After all that you've done to me, how can you call yourself my friend? Ophelia exclaimed amid tears.

Ha…ha..ha Celena laughed out again happily.

"What have I done to you Ophelia? You are greedy for what is not yours.

"How dare you try to be a singer again?" Celene yelled making Ophelia shiver in pain.

She looked at Ophelia for a while before she ran closer towards her. "Where did you get this outfit and jewelry?" She asked glancing at Ophelia's neck in anger.

Here's a revised version of your text:

"What nonsense are you scheming again?" Ophelia yelled, turning to walk out of the office. But Celine grabbed her by the hem of her dress, stopping her in her tracks. Celine quickly examined the dress, her expression darkening, before dragging Ophelia out of the office.

Celine threw Ophelia into the middle of a crowd. Ophelia winced as pain shot through her leg—she had sprained it during the rough handling. Tears streamed down Celine's face, her voice rising to draw even more attention.

"Everyone! You won't believe who this girl is!" Celine cried out, her sobs loud and dramatic.

"She's Ophelia Wyatt!" she continued. "My so-called best friend who betrayed me five years ago! She plagiarized my songs and manipulated my voice to climb to the top. She even tried to steal my position and threatened my life! I thought I'd escaped her wrath, but here she is again, in my office, wearing the jewelry and dresses my father gave me for my birthday last year!"

Celine's voice broke into hysterics. "She came to threaten me again—she said she'd kill me if I didn't step down from my director post!"

The crowd began murmuring in shock and anger. Ophelia, overwhelmed and confused, tried to stand and defend herself, but before she could utter a word, someone shoved her back down.

The hostility spread like wildfire. Objects were hurled at her, insults flew, and she was beaten mercilessly before being forcibly thrown out of the company building.

Rain poured heavily as Ophelia crawled on the wet ground, her body aching and her heart heavy with despair. Tears mingled with the raindrops on her face as she finally managed to stand, limping away aimlessly in search of refuge.

Her eyes caught the hem of her dress, and her breath hitched, it was from Celine's father's company.

Blinded by her tears, lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the car speeding toward her until it was too late.
