Chereads / HIBIKI / Chapter 27 - Chapter 26 | The Beginning Of An Ending

Chapter 27 - Chapter 26 | The Beginning Of An Ending

It's been a while since I have had nothing to do at all.. boringgg.

-XYLA-

What's the use of taking over a Yakuza organization.. I'm so not fit for this.

"Uh.. hey." The random, average, totally boring member glared at me and sighed in response.

I stood up in annoyance and stomped my feet. "H-Hey! Remember, I'm still your boss you know!"

She stood up and approached me. Lazily as she did so.

"Right.." She mumbled under her breath. "What was it? ..Boss?"

Ehehe more like it. "Would you..." As much as I don't want to, I made a disgusting puppy eye look and asked. "Go shopping with me~"

          "..."

"Hey why are you looking at me like that? You won't need to do anything. Just hold my things!" I happily said.

She looked at me hesitantly, "But.."

I held her hands to try and convince her more.

"Come on now, aren't you a girl too? Hey, I'll buy you new clothes." Finally, she nodded in agreement. Good thing she said yes because if she really didn't want to go, I would've lazed around the sofa all day again.

Ting

"Oh wait." I checked my phone that was still on the sofa. Only to see.. "That Asami girl.."

'Good afternoon.' she said, 'It's me, Asami.' she said. Just seeing her chats makes me kinda annoyed.

I saw her typing yet another message again, quickly, I replied back before her. 'What now?'

I waited a couple minutes for her to text back a reply. Slow hands.

'Hibiki's out.' Well.. obviously. Wait yeah, where is he anyway..

          'Let's go out.' What.

'I reserved a seat in a restaurant.' Huh, what?

'I wanted to go shopping..' I replied.

'Then let's go to xxx mall first. Be there at xxx PM.' She quickly replied back.

What does she want? Something important, maybe?

"Boss?" The girl that I've forgotten about because of Asami stood before me awkwardly.

"Oh! Sorry! Sorry. Anywayyy change of plans. Here." I handed her a bunch of cash. "Buy yourself whatever you want. Oh, that's not part of the allowance by the way."

Her eyes lit up as she looked at the cash she was holding in her hands. She then looked at me, finally smiling.. still awkwardly. "Thanks a lot Ms. Xyla. Oh, I mean.. Boss."

          How cute.

I patted her head and realized the height difference. Is she taller than me? "Nevermind 'Boss', I like Miss Xyla. Makes me feel all mature haha."

I suddenly felt a cold sensation down my back right after getting another notification.

          'I'm leaving. See you.'

...

I guess I really need to go now..

I made my personal driver, drive me to xxx mall with the group's car. It's a little expensive so I rarely ride it.. but I can sense how happy my driver is, of being able to drive it again.

"Could you lower the window?" I asked.

          "Sure."

The heavy, damp, and cold feeling of the air getting in contact with my body made me shiver. I like the weather though.

"Should I roll down the window?" Mr. Driver, as I sometimes call him asked me.

I looked at the time with my phone. "No need, we're about to arrive anyway."

"Around here?" He asked as the car came to a stop.

The smell of rain feels so calming for some reason today.

"Yes. You can drop me off here. You're about to go to the headquarters right? Keep the umbrella." I told Mr. Driver, while I arranged a veil up on my head again with a small black clip.

"Thank you. What about you Bo-" His voice suddenly cut off which took my attention. "Ah nevermind. Seems that someone came for you."

I twisted the car door's handle, while still looking in front. "What do you mea-"

As I turned to my side, a girl with short hair, wearing a soft gaze, while holding an umbrella above me looked at me.

"Miss Xyla?" She said, so silent that it's almost a whisper. "Ehem.. sorry to have called you out during this weather."

I took a step out and closed the car's door.

"Don't worry, I didn't have anything to do anyway~" I said while I waved to Mr. Driver as he drove away. "So? What's the matter?"

She stared at me for a split second and looked away. "It's not that important really. Let's discuss it later when we eat dinner."

          I only nodded in reply.

It's small, but we shared the small umbrella as we walked to the mall. Being this close to her and observing her more carefully. Her hair looks really soft, her eyelashes are long and her eyes look.. very pretty, like rubies.

I finally realized that I have been looking far too long when she suddenly looked at me, our eyes, awkwardly meeting.

"Something on my face?" She asked.

I awkwardly smiled and laughed "Haha no, no. It's just that I've been wondering what I should call you. I never got to ask before since you were pretty.. no you were acting all annoying."

She has this dead look, as if she's really tired. It's not like how it usually is like before, where she looked composed, and energetic. Even though she doesn't really react much.

She looked down and tidied her dress. Her dress doesn't fit her vibe at all. "My bad. I was a little.. my head was a little over the place at that time. I don't usually act impulsively, both with what I do and say."

          I see.

We finally entered the mall, and surprisingly. Even though it's pouring out, there are a lot of people.

I looked over to Asami and she looked.. worried?

Oh wait, what should I even call her.. calling out her first name feels like we're already super duper close.

"Ms.. Onagawa?" Did I say it right? She is, basically still Hibiki's sister right?

Asami looked over at me and reacted as if she was confused.

"You can just call me Asami." Wow, speed running this friendship aren't we?

Before I could even say anything, a bunch of ecstatic girls suddenly appeared before us..

"W-Wait.. Ms. Onagawa! Is that really you? I'm a huge fan!" One of the girls yelled out as a crowd started forming around us.

          "It's her!" Another one screamed.

"Wow, she's really here!" And another one.

"Tsk.. let's go. Xyla." Asami wrapped her arms around mine and tried to walk away. Only to be met by another, wall of people.

"How was it, beating xxx at the last competition? How do you really feel about it? No need to be humble!" One of the fans suddenly asked. Reporter much?

I looked over to Asami. She closed her eyes and sighed. As she opened her eyes, the annoyed Asami I was with just a second ago seemingly vanished, and another person seemed to have replaced her.

"What do you mean be humble? I'm just happy you know~ After all, It's a miracle I even won! They were sooo good..."

She spoke to them on and on until they've calmed down, but oh my gosh.. This bitch is so fake.

"Yes! Yes, well thank you, but I really need to go. Please come watch my next performance!" Asami said as she dragged me away from the remaining small crowd. As if changing into a different person again, she said, "I didn't expect them to be here."

"Well, yeah! If you're famous, then of course there would be a lot of fans that would pounce on you in public!" I said, annoyed at how much my feet hurt now from standing so long. "What was that about anyway?"

She checked her phone and looked at me. "I was talking about the reporters. I'm a figure skater."

"Wait really?" Looking at her again, she does have a nice figure, and she's pretty too but I really didn't expect it.

"Look." Asami suddenly showed me her phone. It's a blog about her today. Talking all about what she said earlier and.. a mourning woman?!

"Looks like it's not just me that calls you that." She said, as if mocking me. "The dress you're wearing looks good, just take off the veil and you would look alright."

Why do people care anyway.. "Fine.. it's getting a little hot anyway."

I took off my veil and tucked it into my pocket, good thing it's thin enough to fit. Hehe.. dress with pockets. This is why I like this dress.

"What's up?" I asked Asami as she looked a little lost in thought. "You look funny while looking at me like that." I laughed a little, was that rude?

"Sorry, anyway. Let's go shopping for clothes first." I took the initiative to move. "You need.. a little help with what suits your vibe.."

Wow, well that's a rush. So much for thrifting. Asami looks much more worn down though. I feel kinda bad.

"Hey, give me some of that. You look like you'll die with the weight or something." She then handed me a few bags. "Come on, give me more."

Asami looked at me.. confused? I can't really tell. "I'm fine.."

"You guys look pretty exhausted." A deep, familiar sounding voice suddenly spoke behind our backs.

"What's up." A man, about 6 foot stood behind us, while a cute, small, little while gremlin stood beside him, arm.. wrapped around his?

"What did you do to my child.." I said annoyingly. He only looked at me confused. "And who's this other woman?" Another one, that has her arm wrapped around Hibiki's instead, wearing a shocked face.

Jaw dropped by my beauty perhaps~

"OH MY GO- Ms. Onagawa?" Wow.

"I'm such a huge fan!" She's another fan, huh..

I left Asami's side to approach Hibiki.

"I've only met you once, right?" I asked, still annoyed with how close he is with Hibiki.

"We ever got to introduce ourselves properly. Kaede Yamato." He said, with a smile.

          Hmm, not bad.

"Xyla Kaye Lavandine." I replied, also with a smile. "Where did you go Hibiki?"

"I don't know." Hibiki replied, monotone as always, but still cute.

Kaede looked at Hibiki for a moment but with how deep that felt, it's as if he drilled a hole or something.

"We spent a day back at my home town." Yamato answered instead. "To think about it, I never really told you what that place is called." He said to Hibiki.

Tsk, I know how dense and how fast Hibiki obeys people but that's just weird. Whatever..

"Yamato." I looked back after hearing Asami call for him. "Why don't you all join us for dinner."

"What will you order?" Kaede asked Hibiki. "What will you, order?" Hibiki responded.

"This one, and.. this one, maybe?" Hibiki just nodded to what he said, then replied, "I'll just get what you'll order."

          How close are they anyway..

I looked beside me, to see how Asami is doing with the energetic girl.

"Ms. Onagawa! This! This! How did you even do that?" The girl with the braided hair kept on pestering Asami. Weirdly enough though, she doesn't look much bothered.

"Ah, that one was really embarrassing.. That one's a year ago, seems like you really are a big fan. I'm so happy~" Still such a fake ass though. Great question dodging not gonna lie.

Ahhh, I feel so out of place.

"Wait a minute Ms. Onagawa! I need to take a trip to the bathroom." Ms. Braid girl suddenly stood up, arms wrapped around her tummy.

          Asami quickly responded, "Well then~"

...

A few seconds passed after Ms. Braid girl left, when someone finally spoke.

"Does he know?" Asami quickly changed back into her true personality.. still kinda shocking.

Hibiki nodded. "We can trust him."
