Gurgle!
The temptation was overwhelming. If Shirayama's self-control weren't so strong, he might have already turned into a wild beast, about to engage in an illicit act.
Damn it, it had been five whole years since he had been with a woman.
And suddenly, here was this delicate beauty—Shirayama could barely hold himself together.
"Kid, I'm telling you again. Stay out of this. Leave now, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Just as Shirayama was about to savor the moment, a booming voice like thunder suddenly rang in his ear, breaking his trance and snapping him out of the mood.
As the saying goes, there's morning grumpiness, and when something ruins a good moment, Shirayama felt his temper flare up for no reason.
"Damn it! What if I say no? I'm getting involved in this!" Shirayama wrapped his arm around the girl and looked at the burly man defiantly.
In that moment, his presence was like that of a hero.
He didn't see that after hearing his words, the girl let out a breath of relief. Her eyes sparkled, and her feelings toward him soared.
She didn't even consider what would happen if Shirayama couldn't defeat this man.
"Ha! Alright, since you insist on butting in, don't blame me!"
Upon hearing Shirayama's words, the burly man's expression twisted with fury. He unsheathed his large knife and charged toward Shirayama.
"Be careful!"
Seeing the man charge, the girl flinched, instinctively warning him.
"Relax, this guy's nothing to worry about!"
Shirayama remained calm and unfazed, not showing any sign of fear.
"Die!"
The burly man rushed forward in a swift move, roaring as he swung his blade. The knife flashed with cold light, its gleam sending a chill down anyone's spine.
"Ah!"
The girl closed her eyes in fear as she watched the knife coming down, but Shirayama stood motionless. She screamed in terror.
Bang!
However, she didn't feel any pain. Instead, a dull thud echoed in the air, as if something heavy had fallen to the ground.
"Don't worry, it's all over!"
Shirayama's soothing voice reached her ears. Slowly, she opened her eyes.
As soon as her eyes met Shirayama's warm smile, her heart fluttered.
Then, as her gaze followed his, she saw the burly man lying in a pool of blood, still gripping the large knife. His eyes were wide open in disbelief.
"Is… is he dead?"
The girl quickly turned to Shirayama, asking in a whisper.
"Of course. If you want to kill me, you better be ready to pay the price," Shirayama replied with a grin, already releasing his hold on the girl.
It wasn't that he didn't want to keep holding her, but he knew if he did, he might lose control and turn into a beast, unable to resist any longer.
As the girl left his arms, she looked disappointed, as if she missed the feeling of being in his embrace.
"It's fine now."
Shirayama shrugged and turned to head deeper into the island. Seeing this, the girl quickly followed, matching his pace step for step.
"By the way, do you know where I can find food? I'm a little hungry."
Shirayama suddenly turned back, catching the girl off guard. Before she could stop herself, their lips met in a sudden kiss.
