Leon remained calm, his eyes steady as he met the sharp gaze from Emma. "If you're done with your little tantrum," he said, his voice as cold as ever, "you can stop now. Divorce is not on the list of choices."
Emma furrowed her brow, frustration clear in her expression. "And why…?" Her voice was sharp, disbelief edging her words.
"Just because…" Leon shrugged, turning to leave. "Go back to the mansion when you're done reminiscing. I have no time for this."
In a burst of frustration, Emma threw the book at Leon's back with a loud thud. "I never realized you could be such a jerk," she snapped, her voice shaking. "I wish…I really wish…" Her words faltered, and her lips quivered as her eyes reddened. "Never mind. I guess I'll never meet the old Leon until I find the book."
"Old Leon?" Leon turned slightly, a snicker escaping his lips. "I've always been like this. Have we even met before, Miss Whitmore?"
