Chapter 56 - War II

(Drakken's POV)

"Mercy!! Mercyyy!!!" a Man shouted for his live as I walked through the battlefield, "Please!! I have a family!!"

I flicked my wrist and his head went flying, his body falling to the ground, "Everyone does, idiot." I said with a bored tone, "Should have thought of that when you refused to bend the knee to me."

We were in a muddy field outside of Riverrun, the Tully House had decided to hole themselves up and try to wait out a siege. Foolish attempts to prevent the inevitable, these idiots do not know that their time is up regardless.

I stopped and looked around, seeing that many of our men were rounding others up who surrendered, placing them in columns and rows. After a brief but brutal battle outside the castle, our men had defeated the small forces that were outside of Riverrun. It was not even fair but it had to be done. Some men had the right mentality and surrendered when they realized that my men were too strong for them to handle.

Others, not so much. They refused to bend the knee and give themselves to me. So they had to be killed.

I looked to my side and watched as several men decapitated soldiers who refused to surrender. Their bodies fell to the ground as blood pooled in the mud and grass below them. My men simply walked away and went over to those who surrendered.

Jon Rivers walked over to me, "My Lord..." He said, "Around a hundred men have surrendered to us."

"Dead?" I asked

"A couple hundred, three at most." He said

"Good." I said as I walked forwards, "What of the castle?"

"We have the supplies to start a siege, it will last a while." He said as he walked alongside me

"There is no time." I said, "Demand for Lord Tully to come outside and see what I am about to do."

"My Lord?" Jon said

"I have spread my blessing throughout this land, Jon." I said seriously, "There is a reason why our men have been having the advantage every battle. To win a war like this, one must give themselves to the God of War and receive his blessing."

"Of course." Jon said

I walked to the edge of the battlefield and near the moat of Riverrun. I looked up at the ramparts and saw that some guards were peering over the edge. They had witnessed the entirety of the battle and saw that I had now taken some of their men into my army.

"Where is Lord Tully?" I asked as I stood there, "I wish to speak to him."

"Lord Tully will not negotiate with filth like you!!" a guard bellowed, "The King has sent his dragons to stop this madness!!"

"I don't give a shit who Jaehaerys sends." I said with a scowl, "But I want Lord Tully to walk over and see what is about to happen. This is no mere war, this is my Crusade!! To spread my influence and power all throughout this land. There is not a damn thing any of you idiots can do about it."

"Aye, I know all about you, false god." He said, "You are but a sorcerer, not a true god. Your vile magic cannot break these walls, they cannot starve us out. Riverrun has enough food and supplies to survive ten years of a siege."

"Oh is that so?" I chuckled, "Yea, can your sorcerers do this?"

I flicked my wrist at the ramparts and suddenly a massive portion of the wall was cut clean, the piece immediately sliding off and falling down into the waters of the moat. The men were shocked by this action and had jumped back in pure fear.

"W-What?!" the guard exclaimed

"Are you going to force your way inside, My Lord?" Jon asked me

"After this spectacle..." I told him

After a few minutes of standing there, looking at the cut rampart, I noticed some movement atop. Then, a man peered over the rampart, a scowl on his face. Judging by his expression, I assumed he was the lord of this place.

"You wished to see me?" The man said, "Foul monster..."

I chuckled, "You're Lord Tully, eh?" I said, "I will give you all one chance to surrender and give yourself to me, the God of War and Death. I will spare all of your lives, especially the women and children. All you have to do is denounce your gods."

"The Seven are the true gods of this land." Lord Tully said, "And House Tully along with all of the Riverlands are subservient to House Targaryen. So do your worst, sorcerer. You are nothing without your magic."

"Perhaps." I said with a smirk, "But I do have a lot of magic.....magic that makes me a God....."

"You are no god." He said

"I am the God of War.....I am the God of Death." I said seriously, "They're not some titles I chose. They represent the power I have control over. Look behind me, the battlefield is a result of a piece of my power...the Power of War. And what I am about to do...is a mere portion of my power over Death."

I raised my hands and felt my magic beginning to shift.

The ground began to shake slightly and I looked right at Lord Tully.

"Sol'Tyr's Reaping: Feathers of Thanatos"

I felt a huge wave of energy being released by my body and shooting straight behind me. The ground shook violently as I felt my power connect itself with every fallen corpse that was on the battlefield.

"W-What did you do?!" Lord Tully exclaimed

"This Battlefield was marked by my blessing." I said as I turned around, "And anyone that fought within is was in my dominion. And as the God of War, I dictate what goes on. And I wanted my men to win. So they did. And those who did not wish to join me, died.....but with the power over Death....combined with the power of War.....those that fell in battle become subservient to me....should I use my power of Death to bring them back."

I waved my hands and black feathers began to fall from the sky and onto the bodies of the fallen. The corpses began to glow brightly and the ground kept shaking.

"This....this is blasphemy!!" I heard Lord Tully say

Then, the men who had fallen slowly got back up, I felt my power infused within them through the marks on their bodies.

They were now my soldiers, loyal and obedient to me.

"Blasphemy?" I said as I looked over at him, "No....."

"This is my power."
