Mayari is an ordinary working student taking BSAB. She's living alone away from her parents because she wants to achieve something. She came from a middle class family. All of her relatives are professionals and they often mock her because of what she chooses to study. She didn't get any help from her parents so she worked hard to earn by doing the projects and assignments of her rich schoolmates. Asides her dream course she also dreams to be a published author, currently she is writing a novel that she plans to apply for a contract on an online earning platform. She's so hardworking, studying and writing waking up late yet still function in the morning. Her genre is fantasy with no romance since she believe romance is bullshit! She witness there is no love between her parents. It was an arrange marriage it was force and it was toxic. Many of her siblings are force to take a degree they don't love. But, Mayari is different. She takes on something different that her parents were enraged disowning her.
Being a fan of fantasy, Mayari sometimes dreams of it however now she can't call if this is a dream or not? Being awaken by a sudden weight on her body and when she open her eyes she saw a silver colored hair, tan complexion, piercing green eyes, and fucking handsome face?! But, she was too shocked to register that it was a handsome male creature she shoved away.
"Shut up! Woman! Scream again and I'll bite you!"
Hearing his trembling voice that hold venom and danger Mayari nods. Slowly, with some hesitation, he removed his hands from Mayari's mouth. He take a deep breath calming his beating heart. He takes a one last glance at the woman before he run and jump out of her window breaking it. Mayari was shock.
Weeks had passed. Mayari doesn't have the budget to fix her window. When night arrived, she decided to have a walk in the nearby river in order to breathe fresh air and get rid of the writer's block. The night breeze was soothing to her skin. It isn't dim due to the lanterns in the river however she suddenly jolted when a strong gale passes her causing her to fall down on the ground. When she look up she saw bunches of figures and red glares staring at her.
Mayari wanted to run but it seems like her body is frozen due to shock. One of them step closer revealing a furry face, dangerous canines, and deadly sharp claws. One thing in her mind, these creatures are not human!
"She has his scents" one of them murmured
"Scent?" Mayari irks a brow, her eyeballs seem shaking due to fear.
"Then we should kill her?"
"No! We must paint her or else she will be a hindrance to my plans"
"What the hell you peopl - I mean creatures want from me?" she yelled
"Oh? She can talk?" one said amaze.
Seems like Mayari's eyes suddenly become a soccer ball when one of them shifts into a werewolf then she automatically looks up. The night sky and it's mesmerizing full moon!
"W-werewolves?!" she exclaimed. She cannot believe her own eyes. She read about them and now they're in front of her and wanting nothing but to harm her? "St-stay away from me!"
She tried running away but the werewolves were fast! They easily cornered her. When they are about to harm her something attacks the werewolves. The surrounding was engulfed with gray gasses causing the werewolves to retreat as if they're allergic and then someone harshly grabbed Mayari away from the scene. She was about to yell when she saw who grabbed her. Even wearing a masked she still recognizes that silver colored hair and green eyes. It's him! The stranger!
"Wait! Where are you going to take me? And what the f is happening?! Why are there werewolves? Who are you?"
"Listen, Lady! Don't yell or else they'll hear us. If I were you I'll keep my mouth shut! The anti-fur gas will be off for a minute before it happens we need to be away from here! Once we're safe I will explain everything to you!" he said convincing Mayari.
They went to Mayari's home which is not far from the river. Since they're near each other now it will conceal her scent and his scent, the enemy can't tail them.
Mayari shakily prepares a coffee while Leo is sitting on the sofa staring blankly at her. When she's done she gives one cup to him which he declined.
"Listen, you may not believe this I myself can't believe this but the stolen gems I got from the stupid sprites are causing all of these circumstances! I become your familiar and either like it or not I must stay with you" direct to the point he announced causing Mayari to stop drinking her coffee.
"Familiar? You mean like a guardian?"
He nods, "I'm a bit impressed you're not that simpleton I guess…" Mayari was about to react to his sentence but he didn't allow her to speak, he continued. "I don't want to intrude your fluffy cozy room but it is not my will to leave this house. You need to help me and you need me as much as I need you"
"I refuse to believe all of this is real. I may love fantasy but this is a nightmare! Being hunted by monsters and being stuck with a stranger with no clear origin? Everything seems so haunted" she blabbers
The stranger shook his head as he rolled his beautiful green orbs, "Woman, I can hear you! Stop talking like I'm not here! I assure you, this is not a dream. I am real. I don't know why of all the places I ended up in here but one thing for sure I don't know where to go so you need to help me and I need you to let me stay here. Don't worry, this may not be your dream fairy tale but I will protect you like a knight in shining armor" demanded the man while mockingly rolling his eyeballs as if finding her fairy tale ridiculous.
Mayari wanted to laugh because of his thick face. However, recalling that he is a supernatural and she's only a mere human she didn't say no to his demands besides her life is at risk. She was almost killed if this stranger didn't save her she would end up being a dinner. She wanted to ask plenty of questions but her fear of being killed transpired especially when she saw his canine teeth. It is not a joke this man is dangerous. He is one of those monsters. Mayari becomes wary, she mustn't fully trust a man with dangerous canines.
"Now, lady, where's my room?" instead of sounding like asking a favor his tone seems like asking a servant the whereabouts of his imaginary chamber.
