Chereads / As a Symbiote in Marvel multiverse / Chapter 48 - Peter's Power Play

Chapter 48 - Peter's Power Play

**Earth-928, Spider Society**

Peter sat on his throne and the entire world frozen in time as an eerie silence hung heavy in the air. Behind him stood Shadow and Techno with their cold expression. Before him, Phantom loomed over Miguel, who was kneeling helplessly on the ground, pinned down by Peter's telekinetic grip.

Everyone is frozen but a symbiote soldier stood beside them.

Peter's voice echoed with chilling authority as he turned to Phantom and gestured toward Miguel. "Shadow, take him. Make him understand what true fear is."

A sadistic smile curled on Shadow's lips as Phantom mirrored the expression. Miguel struggled and shouted in defiance, "Let me go, you dull creature." He then looked at Peter and shouted, "Let me go, Parker." but Peter is unmoved and cast a spell with a flick of his wrist. A glowing green circle formed on Miguel's arm marking the time loop.

"Every time you die," Peter said with his voice dripping with menace, "you'll revive. Over and over and over again. Until I decide otherwise."

Shadow and Phantom dragged Miguel away and his protests fading into a room present few distance away. Peter then moved his left hand and fast-forwarded the time within the room they entered, where each second outside equaled a full day within. Five seconds later, Shadow and Phantom returned with their sadistic mission complete.

Miguel floated lifelessly in Phantom's grip, his body is normal but his spirit is broken and his eyes are hollow. Shadow smirked. "He screamed for two days. By the fourth, he went silent. We made sure he learned what fear really means."

Phantom dropped Miguel at Peter's feet and his lifeless form hitting the ground with a thud. Peter used his telepathic powers to restore Miguel's shattered mind but left him with every vivid memory of his countless deaths.

Miguel gasped and his chest heaving as terror consumed him. His wide, bloodshot eyes locked onto Peter. But before he could utter a word, Peter slammed his foot onto Miguel's head, driving him into the ground beneath.

The floor beneath them fractured as Miguel groaned in agony and was unable to move. Peter his symbiote form, loomed above him like a living nightmare. His glowing with whitish-blue eyes pierced through Miguel's soul.

"This," Peter growled with cold and guttural voice, "is fear, Miguel. Do you understand it now?"

Miguel barely managed to whisper, "Yes... I understand... Please... let me go..."

Peter chuckled darkly and began applying more pressure with his foot. "Don't blame me for this. This is all your fault. You thought you could kill me and walk away unscathed?" He spread his arms wide and his voice is booming as it echoed through the frozen world.

"All of this you've built... this Spider Society... it exists because I didn't want to destroy it even after you tried to kill me once. Did you really believe you could try to kill me and survive? No. Everyone—every single one of you—will know what happens when you make me your enemy."

With a wave of his hand, Peter deactivated the time spell, releasing the world from its frozen state. Spider-People gasped in shock as they found themselves cornered by menacing symbiote soldiers, each poised to strike at Peter's command.

Suddenly, the entire Spider Society's communications network came online. Layla's holographic form appeared beside Peter immediately and her expression is stricken with fear. The scene broadcast across the multiverse—a live feed of Miguel crushed beneath Peter's foot and blood dripping from his nose and mouth.

"Peter," Layla pleaded in trembling voice, "please let him go. Just this once."

Peter tilted his head back and laughed, the sound echoing like thunder. "Let him go?" His voice was laced with mockery. "This is the second time he came after me. Why should I believe there won't be a third? No, Layla. I'm won't leave him this time... and you know what I'm beginning to think about removing the entire Spider Society from the multiverse. You think you can label me as a threat and then expect mercy?"

Layla's voice softened. "This isn't who you are, Peter. You're not a villain."

Peter's laughter grew louder, darker. "Not a villain?" He leaned forward and his glowing eyes locking onto Layla. "You guys labeled me as an anomaly. You hunted me, tried to kill me—twice! You called me the destroyer of the multiverse. And now, when I act like the monster you've accused me of being, you tell me I'm not a villain? How convenient."

The silence was deafening as Peter's voice reverberated through the live feed, his words reaching every Spider-Person in the society.

"I tried to be your friend," Peter continued, his voice is like a chilling whisper that carried across the world. "I tried to help. But you rejected me. You chose this."

He pressed harder on Miguel's head and blood is pooling beneath it as Miguel groaned weakly. "I'm done playing the good guy," Peter snarled.

Symbiote soldiers hissed, growled and are ready to strike. Layla remained silent as she is unable to argue further as the weight of Peter's fury bore down on her.

Peter stood tall like a living nightmare made flesh. "Remember this moment," he declared. "Remember what happens when you cross me. There will be no mercy this time."

"Peter, That's enough.... Let him go."

Peter turned to see Gwen-66 standing few feet away from him without her mask.

A Few Moments Earlier…

As Gwen-66 and Miles swung through the chaotic battlefield, dodging attacks and countering as they fought a group of Spider-People, they quickly realized they were outnumbered. Miles then thought of a plan and called out to Gwen. "Follow me! I've got an idea!"

But Gwen-66 had other plans. She clenched her fists and hesitated for a moment, looking at the overwhelming number of enemies ahead. She had been holding back for too long, relying only on her standard abilities. She hadn't even used any of the upgrades Peter had given her.

"No," she muttered to herself, "It's time to stop holding back."

Electricity began crackling around her body as her determination ignited. Just as she was about to unleash her full power, Gwen-65 and Jessica Drew arrived while swinging in to provide backup.

"Hold on, Gwen! Miles!" Gwen-65 shouted as she knocked a Spider-Person off balance with a well-aimed kick. Jessica followed and began disarming and immobilizing a few others with her precision strikes.

The reinforcements gave Gwen-66 and Miles a brief reprieve. "We need to stop this madness!" Jessica said firmly while trying to reason with the attacking Spider-People. "This fighting is pointless. Can't you see that?"

Gwen-65 chimed in, "We can be on the same side! What are you even fighting for?"

But just as Gwen-65 tried to talk sense into them, Gwen-66 froze mid-swing and landed on a nearby wall. Her senses were overwhelmed by a sudden, intense wave of anger. It wasn't hers. It was Peter's.

She clutched her chest and her breath began quickening. She had never felt Peter's emotions this strongly before. It was as if his fury were a physical force radiating from miles away, seeping into her very core.

"Oh no," Gwen-66 muttered in trembling voice. "Something is wrong… something terrible is about to happen."

Before anyone could ask what she meant, a green wave of energy swept over them, emanating from the horizon. As it passed, everyone froze momentarily, Gwen-66 felt her senses dulled and her movements slowed to a crawl. For a brief second, time itself seemed to bend, distorting reality around her.

Then, as quickly as it happened, everything returned to normal—except for the eerie silence that followed. Gwen-66 and the others looked around in shock. All of them were now surrounded by an army of symbiote soldiers, their sleek, black forms oozing with power.

"What the hell are these things?" one Spider-Person muttered.

"They look like symbiotes," another whispered, "but… different. Stronger."

Gwen-66's heart sank. She could feel it now—Something terrible was happening, and she was right.

Their communication devices flickered to life, broadcasting a live feed directly into their view. The screen showed Peter, standing over a pinned Miguel and his foot pressed firmly on Miguel's head. Blood pooled beneath him as Peter's glowing eyes stared into the camera.

Gwen-66 gasped and turned to the others. "We have to stop Peter. Right now."

Jessica and Miles exchanged worried glances. "We're with you," Jessica said. "Let's move!"

Gwen-66 raised her hand to stop them. "I'll go ahead. You follow me as quickly as you can."

Miles frowned. "How? You can't get there faster than us—"

"Yes, I can," Gwen-66 interrupted.

Peter had once offered her the ability to teleport to anywhere. She had refused, thinking it wasn't necessary. After all, Peter himself could teleport anywhere with ease and could handle problems without needing her to intervene. She had wanted to focus on mastering her own powers instead of relying on more gifts from him.

But Peter had insisted, giving her a unique ability anyway—a way to teleport beside him or one of his avatars whenever she needed to. She could feel the presence of all his avatars, scattered across the multiverse, and now she honed in on the nearest presence of all.

Closing her eyes, Gwen-66 activated her teleportation ability. Blue energy surged through her body, and in an instant, she disappeared in a flash of blue light.

Gwen-65, Jessica, and Miles stared at the spot where she had stood and are stunned by her sudden disappearance.

Jessica whispered, "She… she teleported?"

Miles nodded slowly. "It seems She has powers we don't know about... But I hope she can stop him before this gets worse."

The trio, along with the other Spider-People, swung into action, racing toward the source of the chaos.

Gwen-66 was teleported beside Peter. Her face mask got back into her suit, "Peter, That's enough.... Let him go."

Peter turned to see Gwen-66 standing few feet away from him without her mask.

He didn't let him go, instead he pressed his foot harder on Miguel's head, causing him to groan in pain. The ground cracked beneath Miguel's face. "Why should I?" Peter said and his voice cold and devoid of emotion. "He thought he could kill me. Twice. Now, he's learning what it means to cross me."

Gwen-66 took a step closer, "I get it. You're angry. You have every right to be. But this… this isn't the way."

Peter finally turned his gaze to her, his glowing eyes narrowing. "And what would you suggest, Gwen? That I just forgive him? Pretend he didn't try to kill me? Pretend he didn't label me a threat to the multiverse and send his army after me? Okay, I can do that but what if he comes after us again. I don't have the patience to stop him every time he came after us. It's better to end this all here."

Gwen-66 took a deep breath and went closer to him, "No, I'm not saying you should forgive him. But killing him—or destroying the Spider Society—isn't going to fix anything. It'll only prove them right about you."

Raphael also spoke in his mind, 'She's right, Peter. This isn't like you. You have a goal... To become the stronger and live a happy second life. Killing him or destroying the Spider society will only bring more problems.'

Peter also began to think as Miles, Gwen-65, Jessica along with others came to his location and are now stood few feet away from him.

Gwen-66 who is right beside him took his hand into hers, "Please... This isn't the guy I know."

Peter's gaze softened after that but suddenly he felt space distorted a few feet away from them.

Everyone looked there and Peter narrowed his eyes. A beautiful women appeared to be in her late twenties, wearing red suit with white spider symbol appeared on a wheel chair from the distorted space.

Some guys are surprised and some where confused about the identity of this new person.

She looked and smiled at Peter, "It's nice to meet you, Mr.Parker. How about listen to your girlfriend and leave the guy. Killing him won't do you any good."
