Chapter 87 - 87 Making the journey on our own

It wasn't much of an answer, but at the same time, it was ok. "Alright, maybe you can tell me the bad ones and I can determine if we will hunt them. That works for me."

Sroka smiled. "I am a protector now. That's what I decided. I'm not a monster just because I'm fierce. I will train you up right!"

Sirius looked at Sroka with her thumb jabbing the air with determination and smiled. Then he looked over at his wife who was busy chatting with Ériu, and supporting a small bump and he felt for a minute like things were going to be ok.

"I would like that very much." He said.

A pain that was always in Sirius' heart about the need that he had for blood went away. In a way, he realized that he had tapped into that side of his soul that he never reached. Sroka had chosen to reach out to him, and chosen him as her father. Sometimes he realized that family is who you choose but it's also the people who choose you. "I am not a monster either." He seemed to say, though this time, no one heard it.

The next morning, Sirius woke up feeling a bit sore. Next to him was Saoirse. She was soundly sleeping and he was embracing her warm body. She had a light pair of silky pajamas on. He nuzzled her neck with his face and she smiled but didn't quite want to wake up.

She smelled like him and it made him smile. They really had been together for a long time and it made him happy to know that he had such a wonderful person in his life.

He rolled onto his back and thought about whether it would be a good day or not. He was nervous about getting beaten up. That would probably be the outcome. But in the end, the girls and him had made great progress. Even Balor was befriending him, though he often thought of Linus and Brimmer. He needed to return for Brimmer. He was sure his friend was not dead. But he was probably back in slavery, something Sirius had worked hard to free him from.

"Hey." Saoirse said opening her eyes.

"Hey." He said back a bit tiredly. He lay still on his back.

She twirled his hair a bit in her fingers. "You feel sore huh?" She asked him, she could tell because of their bond.

"Yeah a bit."

She beckoned him to roll onto his stomach so she could massage his back. She moved her thumbs around his shoulder blades, making circular motions and then progressed upwards towards his neck. Little pricks of relief filled his bloodstream and he relaxed a bit into his pillow. His head turned on its side to face her. He closed his eyes calmly.

She straddled his body, massaging his tight places in between the joints where his wings connected. Her small belly drooped a bit and touched the small of his back.

Then her fingertips traced his spine. She followed the knots across his back, drawing a map to his arms and felt his muscles, felt the strength of his biceps. They held more strength than he wanted to awknowlege.

She leaned in close to his neck and nibbled playfully at it and the white hairs on his neck stood up a little bit. Her soft breath grazed them and the warmth made his hair soften as she swiped it to the side. Ever since he had connected with taz, his hair in the back had grown long, and in his beast form the hair made up his mane. It almost came down to his waist. It fascinated her because even with taz gone Sirius looked like this.

She began braiding it. He let her. He didn't mind. The new trend amongst the humans to braid their hair had reached the werewolves and Sirius had even seen them put beads on their braids. Calling themselves Vikings.

He filled with tranquility and peace. Then she lay back down next to him and he turned his body to face her. She leaned against his bare chest.

He ran his fingers through her long blue hair and whispered, "I love you so much Saoirse."

She smiled too and they embraced each other, nearly dozing off again.

Saoirse got up a bit uneasy and quickly, and rushed for the toilet to hurl like she had before. Only this time they knew she was pregnant.

It made him wonder why she hadn't gotten pregnant at their consummation which should have been the case since they were fated mates.

He shrugged and got up to help her clean her face.

"Your smell is strong." She said apologetically. "It makes me vomit I'm sorry."

Sirius laughed. "You're growing six babies, it's expected you don't want to have anything more to do with me." He chuckled.

An hour later, Ériu knocked on the door. Saoirse got up from the bed and opened it. Sirius was snoozing once again. "I can tell he is still pretty tired." She commented when she saw him.

Saoirse nodded.

"Well, the valley of Slidir waits for no one!" She exclaimed. The only way to get stronger is to wake up sore! So let's get ready to go, I've made some breakfast for whenever you're ready."

"Thank you Ériu." She said. "We really are in so much debt to you."

"It's no problem!" She responded, "One day when you make it to my land on the other side of the portal of the triangle, you will be have made me proud. I am so glad that you guys came along so that I might have some fellowship. It's nice.

I have gained some good allies, so it was just an unfortunate fate for us all that Loki and Odin are also involved. It is better that we make the best of it and make the world a better place."

"My son really hopes that you all make it back somehow. Loki insisted that your journey ahead be made alone."

"Alone?!" Saoirse exclaimed, "you won't be coming with us to find taz?"

"We must use wisdom in this world. Once something is gone, it leaves a lasting mark. Yes I will be sending you all off tomorrow per Loki's revelation and you will have to meet up with me later. You will use this as motivation to achieve your goals."

"How are you so wise? Are you very old?" Saoirse asked her.

"I have lost a lot of loved ones in my life. The life of a beast is hard." She said. I have lost those close to me, but I can never lose the experiences I had with them, or my personal growth. I am among the last of the gods in my pantheon."
