Chapter 78 - 78- Sroka’s rage

The fomoire was unable to move as quickly, and a sheet of ice had formed around her and she was stuck place, the mist formed the shape of a person like a large smear of ice. It looked like someone had frozen her in the middle of running.

Sirius had lost Odin's sword, it was caught in the ice. "Saoirse!" He exclaimed. Instead he took the hilt of Ériu, expecting to pull her sword from the hilt, but it had no blade.

"What?" He exclaimed, "it's a decoy?"

Saoirse took ahold of it and it burst into an ice sword. She lightly tapped the fomoire's neck. "I win!" She said excitedly.

"Very well done!" Ériu complimented her. "My sword is elemental. I'm sorry Sirius, until you meet with Hel and ask her why she granted you wings, then you won't have a teacher for your elemental magic."

"Elemental magic?"

"Like the werewolves with ice, and the fomoires with water, death angels control their element." Ériu said. "You will figure it out with time."

If Sirius could breath steam right now, he would have. He sighed.

"Well, we told Sroka we were also going to bed, so let's do so." Saoirse said interrupting. "Ériu can teach you more later."

She handed the hilt back to him and the icy blade melted away. He handed it to Ériu.

"You keep it." She refused. Maybe one day Hel will teach you to forge me a greater one."

"Forging?"

"Yeah." Ériu said, "she is a great forger."

This surprised Sirius. "I thought that her element was also ice."

Ériu gave a wink. All of Lokis children have cold and hot.

Ériu breathed a bit of heat from her nose and the ice melted around her face. She smiled, "you've underestimated me again". The mist flowed out of the goat giantess' mouth as if fire from the mouth of a dragon and her body appeared again. The ice smear was just a shell now.

Saoirse began freezing her over and over but each time she just abandoned the water she was using and made herself a new body of mist.

Sirius became frustrated and wacked at the mist with his ice sword over and over again, he growled, "quit playing games!"

The mist just laughed.

"We have to get her away from water then!" Saoirse exclaimed. The water was everywhere, on the ceiling, the walls, dripping from stalagtights and onto Sirius' face. She moved the ice below Sirius' feet, scooting him over, and the floor began to freeze and so did the walls and a lot of the sources of water became unavailable. She was so surrounded by ice at this point she could barely figure out where to guide Sirius.

"I'll be fine, focus on Ériu!" Sirius said.

The fomoire began forming into herself again and smashed through the ice sculptures laughing maniacally. "Did you think I would go easy on you when you just met me?" She smashed ice away with her horns and it nearly crushed Sirius. There was no escape as the ice cave began to collapse. He tried to think if there was anything he could turn into in order to get away, but there wasn't time. He covered his head as thick sheets of ice began falling. He covered himself with his wings terrified.

"Mama ice armor!" Sroka cried out. She once again had teleported out of bed.

Saoirse covered Sirius' wings in ice armor and the ice crushed them, but slowed a little bit. He shrieked in pain as the bones in his wings were crushed. He tried retracting them back into his back, but the pain was too great.

They dangled, getting in his way as he tried to find away out if the ice box that now encased him. He banged on the ice walls with his fists.

The fomoire still laughed untouched. "Why are you doing this!" Saoirse cried out in pain. She turned into a wolf trying to break through the ice wall to free him. He struggled to get himself to his feet.

The goat woman lowered her horns and readied herself to make a final blow at them, they were sitting ducks as they tried to get out. They would be crushed by her next blow to the ice.

With rage, Sroka flew at the fomoire and bore her claws.

Ériu didn't have time to react; Sroka was so fast.

"get away from my parents!!!!" She cried enraged!

"Finally the devil comes out!" The fomoire exclaimed. Sroka attacked her with her claws and she tried to turn into mist again, only to have Sroka's wolf bite down hard, slamming her mist body with air and it crashed into the wall, trapping her in a corner.

She slashed and clawed at the Irish goddess in a flurry, her claws digging into her flesh, searching for her beating heart.

"Stop!" The fomoire shrieked, it was just a training session!"

Sroka wasn't listening anymore though, her eyes were black and she slashed and slashed, her fangs growing long her teleportation ability kept her backed into the corner whenever she tried to escape.

"Please!" The fomoire cried, "stop her!"

Sirius and Saoirse panicked at the bloodbath that Sroka was inflicting on the giantess. Her ability to heal as quickly as she could failing her and with nowhere to go. Each slash before healed almost instantly, but it was followed by another and Sroka was getting more and more impatient. Ériu began to be batted around like if she were torturing small prey. The fomoire's eyes filled with terror and she was unable to protect herself.

"Sroka stop!" Saoirse cried. They were still unable to get out of the ice cage they were in.

Sirius shouted to her, "Sroka come here!" She hesitated a bit but then she slashed one more time at the woman across her face before stomping back towards her parents. She kicked the ice and it smashed into pieces, freeing her parents before disappearing into her room. She began sobbing on her bed.

Everyone sat there in silence for a while and the fomoire caught her breath. "I need water." She said eventually and went to lower her battererd body into the water.
