After Lu Wuqi walked over to the Mother and daughter, she saw them sitting on the ground beside the shelf, eating a lot of snacks and stuffing them into their mouths like little hamsters.
Yun Qingyue noticed her from the moment she came out of the front desk counter as her eyes followed her subconsciously. She saw that the ends of her hair and her bangs were still a little wet. Crystal clear drops of water slid down from her neck and onto her fair collarbone which seemed to glow with a silvery light in the bright moonlight, giving her an indescribable and unrestrained charm. Yun Qingyue immediately looked sideways as she felt extremely weird in her heart and she continued to eat the rice crackers as she tried to not think about what she just saw.
Lu Wuqi took out a water bottle from her space and sat down beside the little Yunyue who only now saw her mommy coming back as she was too busy eating to even notice someone coming and sitting beside her.
Yunyue immediately stopped eating but there was still a biscuit that was in her mouth making her whole mouth bulging but she even stopped chewing it as she only kept looking at Lu Wuqi who came and sat beside her with a little excitement but also with a hint of fear.
Seeing the little one looking at her like this, Lu Wuqi said in a warm voice,
"It's okay. Eat as much as you want."
Little Yunyue started chewing again only after her mommy said this and she immediately gulped down the biscuit that was in mouth and turned towards Lu Wuqi and said in a hesitant tone,
"M-mommy.... Yunyue didn't eat much." As she said this, she even extended her hand towards Lu Wuqi which held the packet of biscuits that she was eating and said,
"Y-yunyue isn't hungry anymore. Mommy should eat this."
Looking at the little girl who was obediently trying to please her with a timid look on her face made Lu Wuqi feel funny yet sad at the same time. She looked at the cute little girl through the moonlight and stretched out her hand to rub the top of her head with a very affectionate look on her face and said,
"There are a lot of food here for mommy to eat, Yunyue. And didn't mommy say that she will protect both of you from now on. Eat as much as you want and you don't have to feel afraid, okay. Mommy will not scold you no matter what."
Lu Wuqi said to her in a very warm and affectionate tone which made her seem far more approachable than before and the little girl who was only about 4 years old and was always yearning for her momme's love was immediately coaxed by her words.
Through these little actions, little Yunyue has subconsciously began to trust and feel closer towards Lu Wuqi and she immediately showed her a big smile but still asked hesitantly,
"C-can Y-yunyue really..."
But before she could finish her words, Lu Wuqi stretched out her hand and rubbed her cheeks with boundless affection and little Yunyue didn't have any more hesitation and only said with a suppressed excitement,
"Thank you, mommy."
Lu Wuqi didn't say anything as she also took a few packets of rice crackers and cookies from the shelf and started eating them.
Little Yunyue was also eating slowly beside her but her round eyes continued to stare at Lu Wuqi as her little heart was slowly but surely healing itself and the instictive love of a child towards her mother made her subconsciously want to get more and more closer towards Lu Wuqi.
On the other hand, Yun Qingyue saw the whole scene of the mother and daughter and also saw how gentle and affectionate Lu Wuqi was towards Yunyue and the seeds of doubt that have been planted in her heart by herself also continued to grow silently. But Yun Qingyue didn't say anything and just continued to observe Lu Wuqi from the side.
But she also felt extremely warm and hopeful after seeing Lu Wuqi's behaviour and could only hope that what she was thinking was not wrong and it wasn't just her being a little magnanimous all of a sudden because of her gaining superpower.
As all the three people were eating in silence to fill their empty stomach for days and drinking water to quench their thirst, Lu Wuqi suddenly turned towards Yun Qingyue and said,
"Stretch out your hands, please. Let me treat the wounds on your hands."
Yun Qingyue was surprised to find Lu Wuqi suddenly turning towards her and was a little panicked because she thought that she was caught staring but breathed a sigh of relief when she heard her question.
"No....." She was about to deny but Lu Wuqi on the other hand already knew what she was going to say and stretched out her hand and held the two soft and fair hands of Yun Qingyue with a little force that seemed to say that she wouldn't take no for an answer.
Yun Qingyue was a little stunned at first and forgot to even resist and Lu Wuqi had already taken the clean sterile gauzes and bandages as well as the anticeptic cream that was placed right beside Yun Qingyue.
She then took out another water bottle and wet one of the sterile gauzes with it and started wiping the wounds on her hands.
Thankfully, it was only skin injury and there wasn't any deep cut. But the wounds still secreted few drops of blood which has already clotted on the wound. Lu Wuqi took some time to carefully wipe the wounds clean with the wet gauze and after seeing that her both hands have now become completely clean, Lu Wuqi took the anticeptic cream and rubbed them gently on the wounds.
Lu Wuqi's head was slightly lowered as she subconsciously came closer towards Yun Qingyue to better treat her wounds and Yun Qingyue could only look at her lowered head in a daze. She had never had someone be this gentle with her and even when she was cleaning the wound and the wet gauze was rubbing directly on the cut skin, she didn't seem to feel any pain at all! Because usually she has always been afraid of pain and tried her best to avoid getting hurt in any way but with Lu Wuqi treating her wound this gently, Yun Qingyue even began to doubt whether her fear of pain even existed to begin with!
Lu Wuqi on the other hand didn't know that Yun Qingyue was thinking so much and she was only focused on treating the wound as gently as possible. But what Yun Qingyue didn't notice was the gradually growing red ears of Lu Wuqi because she herself was not as calm as Yun Qingyue thought she was. At this time, Lu Wuqi couldn't help but think,
"H-her h-hands are too soft." Lu Wuqi has never been close to someone like this. After all, her profession made her heart and mind much more firmer and tougher than normal people. She was always busy with her career and ....
