Onboard the Windblow, the atmosphere was as chaotic as usual, but today there was an added layer of absurdity to the scene. Navine, sitting at the edge of the deck with her chin resting in her hands, stared down at the clouds below. She was clearly deep in thought, her face as gloomy as the overcast sky.
"Navine, you okay?" Zara asked, glancing over with a teasing grin.
Navine barely reacted, still lost in her thoughts. "I'm fine. Just wondering if I made the wrong choice joining this crew..."
Zara raised an eyebrow but didn't push further. She had her own problems to deal with. Specifically, Nandya had somehow convinced her to take part in a ridiculous game of "sacrifice." Zara was kneeling on the deck, looking dramatically resigned as Nandya tied a scarf around her eyes, the symbol of her participation in whatever bizarre challenge Nandya had cooked up this time.
"Alright, Zara! You're going first!" Nandya said enthusiastically, stepping back and grinning. "I promise this will be fun!"
Zara sighed deeply. "I don't even know what this is about, but okay…"
Meanwhile, across the deck, the real action was happening. Seraphine had challenged Fredrie, the ship's massive, brawny crew member, to an arm wrestling match. It had started innocently enough, but now it had turned into something far more competitive than anyone had anticipated.
"Come on, brainless musclehead!" Seraphine sneered, her usual cocky attitude in full force. "Let's see if you can handle the flames!"
Fredrie, a mountain of a man, was clearly enjoying the challenge. He leaned forward, grinning like a giant child. "You sure you want to do this, Seraphine? I've got a pretty strong grip!"
Seraphine scoffed, placing her arm on the table with exaggerated confidence. "I was born ready, musclehead. Prepare to be humiliated!"
Navine, still sulking and clearly uninterested in the chaos unfolding around her, glanced up for a brief moment. She sighed heavily. "Why did I think this would be a good idea...?"
"Don't worry, Navine," Zara called out, still blindfolded. "We're all just... getting to know each other."
Navine groaned but didn't respond. She returned her gaze to the sky, praying for a peaceful moment.
Back to the arm wrestling, Fredrie was grinning ear to ear as he easily pushed Seraphine's arm down.
"No! No! No!" Seraphine growled, her red eyes flaring with fiery determination as she tried to push back. But Fredrie's massive arm was simply too much for her.
"Come on, brainless musclehead! You can't beat me that easily!" Seraphine hissed.
Fredrie just chuckled, effortlessly holding her arm down. "You're stronger than I thought, but not strong enough!"
Seraphine tried once more, gritting her teeth, but it was no use. With a final push, Fredrie slammed her arm down to the table.
"Five to zero," Fredrie declared with a huge grin.
"This is ridiculous!" Seraphine shouted, throwing her hands up in exasperation. "I demand a rematch, brainless musclehead!"
Fredrie laughed heartily, completely unfazed. "You gotta admit, that was impressive. Maybe you'll do better next time, Seraphine."
Seraphine, still seething, shot him a glare. "Next time, I'll roast you alive in your sleep. Brainless musclehead."
Fredrie simply winked, clearly enjoying every second of it.
Meanwhile, Nandya, who had somehow managed to tie Zara's scarf tighter, now stood watching the arm wrestling match. "I guess this is the real competition here," she said, completely unbothered by the whole thing.
Zara, who had no idea what was happening because she was still blindfolded, frowned. "What competition?"
"Don't worry about it, Zara!" Nandya grinned. "You're sacrificing yourself for a good cause. Just focus!"
Navine, still staring at the sky, mumbled under her breath. "A good cause... this entire crew is a disaster."
Suddenly, she heard a loud crash as Seraphine slammed her fist on the table. "I swear, Fredrie, I'll challenge you again when my hand isn't asleep from losing to you!"
"Sure thing, Seraphine!" Fredrie grinned. "I'll be here, brainless musclehead ready for round two!"
Seraphine, rolling her eyes dramatically, turned and walked off in a huff. "I'm going to find something to actually burn. This is a waste of my time."
Navine glanced at Zara and Nandya. "Do they always act like this?"
Zara, still blindfolded, replied nonchalantly. "Oh, you get used to it. I'm pretty sure no one here is sane."
"And that's what makes it fun," Nandya added, smiling mischievously as she unwrapped the scarf from Zara's face.
Navine just sighed, slumping further into her seat. Why did I think this would be a peaceful assignment?
The chaotic, yet strangely endearing, dynamic of the Silly Party had begun.
