Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 A Meeting Is Just Someone Having a Heart's Inclination, a Reunion Is Just Someone Difficult to Forget

Chenjiang Daily.

Tu Hengsha stood in front of a six-story building, the four large red-ink characters at the top exuding a majestic aura. She instinctively took a deep breath, fished a candy out of her pocket, and popped it into her mouth. The sweet peach flavor spread between her lips and teeth, and she squinted before steadily walking into the building.

In the large office, every cubicle was occupied by busy people, the sounds of keyboards and mouse clicks rising and falling. At a glance, she saw only a sea of dark heads. She quickly crunched the leftover candy in her mouth. So this was where she would strive from now on!

"Hello, I'm the new journalist in the photography department..." She happened to catch someone getting up and heading out, still glancing at a stack of papers in their hand as they walked.

The person looked up and smiled, "Are you the one called Tu..." A handsome young man with two little tiger teeth showed when he smiled.

"Tu Hengsha!" She was pleasantly surprised that someone knew her. She nodded happily.

"Yes, yes, yes!" The person pointed to a cubicle in the corner, "Your seat is over there, it's all arranged." Because he couldn't remember her name, he awkwardly scratched his head, "Hehe, I'm Hao Ren. Yes, you can think of me as the good person you imagined! You can also call me Brother Good Person, hahahaha!"

Tu Hengsha laughed, "Thank you, Brother Good Person!" She was naturally sweet-mouthed.

"Hao Ren! Are you tricking another young girl?" someone voiced discontent.

Tu Hengsha turned her head and saw a bespectacled woman walking over, around thirty years old, her slender eyes behind the lenses looking her up and down.

Tu Hengsha instinctively shrank back, then stood up straight, with her upright shoulders and straight back seemingly declaring, "Don't be fooled by my small stature, I can carry equipment!"

"Chen Qi." The gaze behind the woman's lenses softened a bit, but remained haughty.

Ah, so she was the director of the photography department! Her immediate superior!

"Hello, Director Chen," she quickly said.

Chen Qi nodded, "There was a flood in Nan County. We already sent a photographer there, but we just received word that they are injured. We need someone to go. Prepare yourself and leave immediately."

Huh? "I..." Tu Hengsha opened her mouth wide, her eyes round.

"Is there a problem?" Chen Qi's gaze narrowed slightly.

"No... No..." Tu Hengsha quickly swallowed the words that hadn't come out.

Chen Qi seemed to see through her thoughts, "Chenjiang is not the kind of low-tier platform where you worked before. We don't keep slackers, and we certainly don't keep useless people. Whether you're new or experienced, whether it's your first day or ten years on the job, everyone is equal when it comes to assignments!"

"Yes!" Tu Hengsha instinctively stood even straighter, legs together. Although Chen Qi's unabashed self-satisfaction and disdain almost overflowed from her small face, Tu Hengsha still felt a deep respect for the spirit of "equality in the face of tasks."

"Hmm, go report, pick up your equipment, and head out immediately. Once you get to Nan County, find Su Ronggui, he's on your team."

... What Gui? As someone with an aversion to the word "Gui," hearing the word made her heart flutter. She didn't catch the full name.

Chen Qi frowned, "Is there a problem?"

"No... no... I'll go right away!" Although she still didn't understand which three characters it was, to avoid Director Chen's piercing gaze from poking holes in her, she figured she'd better not ask. She'd check with that "good person" later!

There was a loud crash as she turned, her foot slipped, and she nearly fell. Struggling to regain her balance, everything in her bag spilled out onto the floor, including wallet keys and other ordinary items, and a pile of candies.

The air suddenly fell silent.

Chen Qi's face changed several times in a second as she stared at the brightly colored fruit candies scattered on the floor.

Tu Hengsha wore a smile, squatting down to quickly pick them up. Another figure was faster, swiftly helping her gather the candies and stuff them back into her bag, leaving only a pink one in his palm. He tossed it high up, caught it again, and said, "Strawberry flavor, thank you!"

Hao Ren flashed a big smile, winked at her, and said, "Su, Rong, Gui! But be prepared for not finding him."

Tu Hengsha hugged her bag, looking bewildered. Why might she not find him? Where should she start looking?

"Get moving!" Chen Qi's voice carried a power that seemed to shake the earth, as if a volcano was about to erupt any second.

"Yes!" Someone silently wept as they sprinted away, feeling that their first day on the job was an absolute disaster! Although she distinctly felt someone tripped her, she hadn't seen who it was!
