Chapter 15 - Disguised Prophecy Ability

"But..." Bertram seemed to have something he couldn't quite say.

"But what?" The Ice Lake Girl looked at him in surprise.

"I do know some more information, but I'm not even sure if it's true or not!" Bertram said uncertainly.

"What do you mean?" the Ice Lake Girl asked.

"Sometimes, I don't know how, but strange information and scenes suddenly appear in my eyes. Later, most of these scenes actually happen..." Bertram hesitated, as if revealing his biggest secret.

"What? You mean you sometimes see strange scenes in your eyes?" The Ice Lake Girl suddenly sat up straight, her usually cold face now showing a hint of excitement.

"Yes, that's right. Is that a problem?" Bertram asked, a bit worried.

"Tell me what you've seen," the Ice Lake Girl said, trying to contain her excitement.

"I saw some follow-up scenes about those men in black kidnapping people. They seemed to meet with a young lord and mentioned something about the Jackson Family..." Bertram said, his face showing signs of deep recollection.

"Jackson Family? Why would they mention the Jackson Family?" The Ice Lake Girl frowned, finding it hard to believe.

"These are just strange scenes that appear in my eyes. Not all of them come true!" Bertram said.

"No, if you can see them, then they are bound to happen!" The Ice Lake Girl shook her head.

"Among many abilities, there is one that is prophetic in nature. This ability is very mysterious and cannot be detected by ability-detecting machines. The person with this ability cannot control it and only occasionally sees fragments of information. But these fragments always turn out to be true!" she explained.

"In the long history, such prophetic abilities have appeared three times. Although they don't have much combat power, they are far more valuable than combat abilities because they can foresee the enemy's moves!" the Ice Lake Girl continued.

"Are you saying I have a prophetic ability?" Bertram asked in astonishment.

"It's not always certain, because personal thoughts can often get mixed up with these prophetic abilities. Historically, there have been over a hundred cases of supposed prophetic abilities, but only three have been confirmed!" the Ice Lake Girl said.

"Besides what you just mentioned, have you seen anything else?" she asked, staring intently at Bertram.

This wasn't just about rescuing her sister; it was also about determining whether Bertram's prophetic ability was real. If it was, Bertram's value would be extraordinary!

"I also saw a young man. He seemed to be after some treasure belonging to your Olson Family, and Miss Isla appears to be held in..."

"Where is she being held?" the Ice Lake Girl asked urgently.

"In the underground coal mine in East Sector 9!" Bertram replied.

Could this guy really have a prophetic ability? The Ice Lake Girl was taken aback.

"Have you told anyone else about your ability to see these fragments of information?" she asked.

"No..." Bertram shook his head.

"You must keep this a secret for now. That includes your ability to see information fragments and everything we've talked about today. Act as if none of this ever happened!" she said solemnly.

"By the way, give me your phone!" she added.

Bertram obediently handed over his phone.

The Ice Lake Girl dialed a number, and shortly after, her own phone rang from her pocket.

"My name is Whitney. This is my number," she said.

Whitney handed the phone back to Bert.

"Stay at school for now. Don't leave, and wait for me to come back!"

Bert quickly took the phone and nodded.

"I need to leave for a bit," Whitney, the Ice Lake girl, said as she left the office.

Whether Bert's information was true or not would depend on her verification.

If it was true, not only could she save her sister, but she could also discover someone with the rare ability of prophecy.

Bert watched Whitney leave, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

Pretending to have the ability of prophecy was the best plan he could come up with.

The information about Isla's location had to come from somewhere, and if he wanted the Olson Family to protect him, he needed to have some value.

With his unlimited life simulation ability, pretending to have this power was almost flawless.

"The prophecy ability can't be detected by ability tests. Once Whitney confirms that the Jackson Family is behind it and successfully rescues Isla from the underground coal mine in East Zone 9, my prophecy ability will be solidified!"

"By then, reshaping my fate should be a success!"

"If the Jackson Family tries to assassinate me again, I can just tell the Olson Family that I predicted the Jackson Family's moves, turning the tables on them!"

Meanwhile, after leaving the school, Whitney immediately dialed a number.

"My sister has been kidnapped, and it might be the Jackson Family behind it. I need your help!"

"Uh... are you sure it's really the Jackson Family?" The voice on the other end of the phone grew heavy.

"There's a high chance it is," Whitney replied coldly.

"Alright, the Jackson Family has really gone mad over that item. But this means we'll lose a member from our Doomsday Squad," the voice sighed.

"It's just one member. I'll find you someone better," Whitney said.

"What do you mean? Do you have someone in mind?"

"This time, the Jackson Family moved against my sister without me noticing a thing. It was someone with prophetic abilities who foresaw it!"

"Prophetic abilities? Are you sure it's not a false alarm?" The voice on the phone was both excited and cautious, having experienced too many false leads in the past.

"He told me my sister's location. Whether it's true or not, we'll find out ourselves," Whitney said.

"Alright, I'll bring the team over right away!" The voice on the other end sounded eager.

Whitney hung up the phone and muttered, "Young master of the Jackson Family, whoever you are, a Doomsday Squad will be enough to show you what we're capable of!"

As Whitney began her preparations, Bertram was also setting his plan into motion.

He headed to the Wanxing Auction House!

"A withered cocoon in the waste area of the Wanxing Auction House is about to revive and hatch an S-class interdimensional creature, the Seven-Star Phantom Death Butterfly. Who could have predicted that?" Bertram's eyes were filled with excitement.

"If I can get my hands on that cocoon, my power will skyrocket!"
