Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: An Unexpected Kiss

Ji Tian: "..."

She thought escaping prison was enough, only to find out that a coffin was clearly being prepared for her in the aftermath.

Ji Tian still wanted to struggle: "If I die, can I return to my own world?"

[System: No.] The King of Competition's voice even sounded somewhat gloating: [The you in that world already died of sudden death from studying late into the night.]

Ji Tian: "..."

No wonder she was bound to a Laziness System.

Cherish life, stay away from toxic competition.

Ji Tian didn't want to die; she still wanted to struggle.

So she looked again at Beauty Value, Wisdom Value, Luck Value, Strength Value.

All of these were only lit by one bar.

Beauty Value was not considered by Ji Tian at the moment; she felt she wasn't ugly, and adding Beauty Value seemed pointless.

Nor did she consider Strength Value, as she just wanted to be a fragile cute girl, not a womanly brute who could break rocks with her chest.

Next up were Wisdom Value and Luck Value.

Which made her very conflicted.

But then the King of Competition's voice spared her the dilemma.

[System: Ding, due to the host's timeout in selection, the system automatically chooses—Strength Value +2.]

Ji Tian: "..."

She was going to ditch this stupid system someday.

Fuming with anger, Ji Tian originally wanted to add one each to Luck Value and Wisdom Value, but now, it all went to Strength Value.

"Damn it!" Overcome with rage, Ji Tian couldn't help but punch the desk.

With a "crack," the aluminum-steel legs of the table in front of her bent from her punch, and the white ash-colored pressed board tabletop split open.

Jian Chuyi looked at her in horror, even shifting his stool away, afraid his fate would soon mirror that of the desk in front of him.

Realizing the incredulous stares of those around, who could have imagined that the frail-looking Ji Tian could smash a table with one punch???

That was too exaggerated.

Her commotion even caught the attention of Bai Tingyu, who frowned slightly, a hint of confusion passing through his eyes.

After three seconds of silence, Ji Tian met the eyes of the teacher on the platform, who had a look of indifference like an elderly man watching his phone on the subway, and awkwardly smiled: "What a crappy desk, such poor quality, it just collapsed on its own."

The entire class: "..."

Do they think we're blind?

But they couldn't explain why Ji Tian had such immense strength, especially considering she, a young lady, couldn't even lift a bottle of water, so they concluded that it must have been the poor quality of the desk.

In a little while, they replaced her desk with a new one, and the movers looked puzzled as the desk material was comparable to iron.

Ji Tian silently chanted "Amitabha" in her mind.

She didn't expect that by simply adding Strength Value, she could smash a desk; she even felt she could send a cow flying with a punch, and she realized she would have to be more careful with her strength from now on.

Finally making it to lunchtime, Ji Tian hid away in the back garden, even arriving earlier than Qin Jiangsheng.

The boy simply dumped his lunchbox's contents out, placing them in front of Ji Tian, their routine becoming very smooth.

He was quiet while eating, with a cold expression, like an untameable lone wolf.

Ji Tian asked him, "Qin Jiangsheng, where do we start the tutoring?"

Qin Jiangsheng glanced at her, not expecting Ji Tian to be serious about it. He pursed his lips and then slowly said, "Whatever."

He wouldn't listen anyway.

"Alright then, physics it is."

Under Ji Lingyun's instruction, she could also teach others the knowledge he imparted, but when it came to the crucial points, she had to pause and think because she had forgotten.

Qin Jiangsheng saw that her explanation was halting and disjointed. He didn't want to listen, yet he couldn't help but notice, as some of the content was incorrect.

Qin Jiangsheng, who had zero tolerance for errors, extended his slender finger and pointed at her textbook, "Here, it should be electric force F = Eq, where E equals field strength N/C, and q equals charge C. The electric force on a positive charge is in the same direction as the field strength."

Ji Tian looked up blankly for a moment, gazing at his delicate and handsome profile, his tea-colored eyes reflecting her figure. They were beautiful eyes with long lashes but devoid of emotion, like those of an ice sculpture.

Her eyes suddenly brightened, "How can you remember so quickly?"

Qin Jiangsheng gave her a deep look, then averted his eyes as his slightly flushed, thin lips parted, "Don't know."

Ji Tian felt secretly that Qin Jiangsheng was very intelligent. If he were to study hard, wouldn't he crush all the male and female protagonists? She became somewhat excited at the thought; the protagonists in the books were always geniuses, the first and second place belonged to them. What if it were Qin Jiangsheng?

What would happen then?

She couldn't change the storyline, but that didn't mean Qin Jiangsheng couldn't.

Ji Tian instantly looked at Qin Jiangsheng as if she had found a treasure. She moved her book toward him and said earnestly, "Listen well, study hard, and in the future, bring glory to our country and become something that even Imperial City Academy can only look up to, someone to be proud of."

Ji Tian's words were serious, as if he could really become what she described.

But he had no desire to be the pride of this school.

He wanted only to destroy this place, to make these people fear him, submit to him, kneel before him and beg for forgiveness, their heads bleeding from kowtowing.

Including Ji Tian, this annoying woman who had made a fool of him and subjected him to ridicule once again.

Qin Jiangsheng lacked any sense of morality, gratitude, and even the most basic sympathy.

His gaze lowered slightly, and he stood up abruptly, "Don't want to."

"Hey! Where are you going?"

Qin Jiangsheng walked away without looking back.

Ji Tian sighed; it was rare for her to want someone to be more ambitious, yet he was just like her, disliking study.

She dejectedly packed up and returned to the classroom; it was only half-past twelve, and there was still half an hour of rest time.

Most of the students in class one did not nap but did homework instead.

She climbed to the fourth floor, and because she had just eaten, she was too lazy to take the elevator. Classes eight and nine were on this level, located next to each other.

Ji Tian glanced into class eight, but Qin Jiangsheng had not returned to the classroom.

A boy came out of class nine, clutching his stomach in pain, holding a pinkish-white envelope in his hand.

When he saw Ji Tian, his eyes lit up, and he pushed the envelope into her hands, "Classmate Ji Tian, could you please help me... no, help your brother deliver this to Shen Zhiyi?"

Ji Weinan?

Ji Tian nodded, and the relieved boy handed her the envelope before hurrying off to the restroom.

Ji Tian hid in a corner and saw that the envelope was addressed to Shen Zhiyi.

She quickly opened it to take a look and found out it was Ji Weinan asking Shen Zhiyi to go see a movie that weekend.

Ji Tian: "???"

Why, under her very eyes, had these two gotten to such good terms? And since when did Ji Weinan feel good enough about Shen Zhiyi to go to a movie together?

Ji Tian's expression darkened; this definitely wasn't acceptable. She had to nip it in the bud, so she turned and ran downstairs as fast as possible, intending to throw the letter as far away as she could.

Because she was running so fast, she failed to notice someone coming up around the stairwell's corner, and by the time Ji Tian realized, it was too late.

She collided with him, and the two tumbled together.

Pain shot through her teeth as they nicked her lip, turning into a numbing sensation.

Ji Tian's heartbeat raced, her gaze locking with Qin Jiangsheng's cold, tea-colored eyes, which seemed to carry a hint of murderous intent.

In the next instant, he pushed her away forcefully.

Ji Tian looked at the bloodied corner of his lip she had inadvertently caused.

She was still somewhat dazed; she had accidentally kissed the story's villain!
