Lin Wan then looked towards the little bundle in his arms and asked with a smile, "Yuanyuan, do you want to sleep with Auntie or with brother?"
The little meatball didn't hesitate to look towards Xu Jiayan.
Lin Wan's smile deepened immediately, not at all surprised by the girl's choice, she lifted her head ignoring her son's sour face, "Alright, no refusals, it's settled then. Take good care of your sister, I'm going to prepare some food." Finishing her words, she raised her hand to pat the little girl's fluffy head and turned to the kitchen.
Xu Jiayan, with a stern and cold expression on his face, glanced at the little meatball in his arms, who also looked back at him with her round and moist eyes.
Seeing that he couldn't shake her off, he reluctantly took her back to his room.
Xu Jiayan's room was very clean, everything was organized neatly, even the carpet underfoot was as clean as if it was newly laid.
After entering and looking around, not finding a suitable place to set down the little meatball, he reluctantly dropped her on the bed. Glancing at her tear-streaked dirty little face, he frowned and said, "Sit quietly, don't move, I'll be right back." After speaking, he took off his backpack, put it on the desk, and went into the bathroom, coming out with a clean towel.
He then saw the little girl sitting on the bed, looking at him expectantly, and actually sitting still without moving.
Xu Jiayan wiped her hands and then her face, the little girl cooperating throughout, and after cleaning, a pink and fair little face was revealed. She didn't forget to show Xu Jiayan an ingratiating smile, showing no sign of the crying fit that almost brought down the roof not long before.
Xu Jiayan found her tolerable to look at only then, taking clean clothes, ready to go to the bathroom again. As he passed by the bed, he couldn't help but stop and stare at the little meatball for a few moments. In the end, he picked her up and took her to the next room.
Next door was the Xu Family's second child, Xu Jinyan's room. Xu Jiayan's foot kicked a toy as soon as he entered; looking at the messy room, his brow involuntarily furrowed.
Three-year-old Xu Jinyan was at the age everyone dreaded. He was usually active and liked to toss his toys around after playing, yet forbade others from touching them, leaving the whole room cluttered with toys.
Xu Jiayan set her down amid a pile of toys, "Stay here until I come back." After speaking, he turned to go back to the room next door.
The little girl, ignoring the room full of toys, clung tightly to his clothes with her soft little hands, her big eyes watery as if asking where he was going.
Xu Jiayan paused, adding, "I'll be back soon."
The little girl then reluctantly let go of his hand.
Xu Jiayan went back to his room to take a shower. He had sweated earlier when he left for class and felt uncomfortable. Thinking of that girl alone in the next room, he hastened his movements.
After coming out of the bathroom, he went straight to the next room but couldn't find the little meatball. Xu Jiayan couldn't help but frown. Hadn't he asked her to stay put?
A sudden thought flashed through his mind. He turned on his heel, returned to his own room, and indeed found Jiang Yuan curled up into a small ball, sound asleep on his bed.
The little meatball must have run back to his room at some point, holding a pink pig toy, sleeping quietly on the bed, the whole person nestled in the blanket, revealing only a round little head.
Her sleeping appearance was quite cute, breathing softly, and looking at her, she didn't seem so annoying after all.
