Standing at the front of the room Renol explained in great detail the companies profits and losses of the past month using a projector.
Some of the share holders either had smirks hanging at the side of their cheeks or their eye brows raised but were generally pleased the company hadn't suffered any losses during the last month.
It was another successful meeting held, reminding everyone of Renols talent for making profitable business decisions and why he deserved respect amongst the ranks.Filled with the sense of satisfaction, a smile stretched across Renols face boldly enough for all the share holders view as a mocking gesture.
Without any hesitation he pocketed his hands and Left proudly away from the front to his executive sit which was at the head of everyone, decorated with expensive sheets for paper in the colours of cream and gold
"Sigh"
His display of confidence served as a slap in their faces yet they endured only giving him a piercing glare as sign of their dissatisfaction but he simply brushed it off.
"If any of you are having any doubts about my presentation please speak up"
"I wouldn't want you to have any dissatisfaction.... With my recent assessments"
He stated boldly with an easy going expression on his face with his feet crossed disrespectfully on the long furnished table.
The room was once again flooded in silence as all the focus was on him with at least 12 fat cats staring viciously at him dead in the eye.
Despite that he wasn't intimidated as he continued look down on them with confidence maintaining his calm and impassive composure
"Don't let all this go to your head. Your still a kid and being good at numbers won't change that" said calmly by one of the share holders sitting at the far end of the room.
"why must you all.....be so ungrateful!" a heavy yet lagging voice yelled from the very end of the table
"Is that so Mr zoohey?
"Indeed renol"
Mr zoohey was a 46 year old widower who owned a shipping company located in nearly all the states as well as one of the major shareholders who came to attend the meeting.
His steady build up didn't falter neither did his commanding voice shake when he spoke up to renol demanding the up most respect without paying heed to his bowl cut that resembled an inverted mop.
"Yes I agree, such rudeness is absurd" renol replied with a twitching smirk hanging at the side of his face and dulled eyes.
Despite Renols capabilities the other share holders were always against his presence in the business and had no problem saying nor displaying it in any way possible.
Among these people one could be described as "Renols biggest critic" who patiently waits for even the smallest chance to submerge Renol as deep into depression as possible. Even amongst the staff the mentioning of his name leaves a bitter taste on the tongue and a sense of uneasy wells up within, he's popularly know as "HOKARAGI"
"Ha ha ha ha ha" A mocking laugh pierced through the rooms tenseness, causing all forms of enmity and disagreement to cease.
"What...why are you laughing?"
"Oh sorry for that. My chuckles seem to have been heard"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Oh it's nothing, please don't worry"
Suddenly the awkward silence was broken by a large clapping sound that echoed.
"I think that's enough"
"The meeting is over"
After the monthly valuation was concluded all the shareholders began leaving the room with most of them having lingering feelings of bitterness.
yes indeed the meeting was completed successfully, but the repetitive harassment by the share holders was an unbroken cycle usually having the same outcome as the current meeting however, Renol was well used and built to it.
"You'll see you little brat."
"One day you'll learn that your talent isn't as special as you think"
Swiftly turning his head in the direction of dying sound of the voice he heard renols eyes were restless as his confident smile began fading gently.
Pulled down by the weight of those words he began to ponder alone in the spacious room filled with only leftovers of the meeting.
He was the only person who still remained in the room sitting down on his customized chair slowly slipping into thought with only the little gust of breeze to calm his nerve.
Despite his remarkable status and popularity along with his talent for business renol always felt alone, hanging his head low thinking about how life would have been if his parents were still alive.
Lost in thought with his head hung low and a puddle of tears on the verge of streaming down his eyes renols wishful thinking was disturbed by a nagging tone.
"Ping ping ping"
"Huh? Was that my phone"
Snapped out of his daze by the tone renol searched for the source of the sound leaving no stone unturned only to find it in his left suit pocket.
Removing the phone, renol sat down and strolled for the source of notification. To his surprise he saw a strange message in his private inbox sent from an unknown number.
Confused by this he developed second thoughts about opening it with different scenarios playing out in his mind and all ending up badly.
Still he couldn't resist the urge to control his curiosity and opened the inbox where he viewed a strange message written in bold letters on his screen.
{Do you want to play a game}
Staring with an empty head he wasn't sure about what the messenger meant.
[Who is this person?]
[Hold on could it be One of my old guild members from when I still played RPGs]
[Though in this case I highly doubt that, still I wouldn't mind playing some games again after a long haitus]
He redirected his view back to his screen and readied the keyboard as he replied to the message losing any sense of his environment engulfed in what he was typing.
{Sure! What game is it}
"Ping ping ping"
{You'll find out soon enough}
"Hmmm"
{Why should I trust you in the first place?}
"Ping ping ping"
{Because it's going to be a fun game}
"Something tells me this guy isn't going to quit"
[Should I block and report him?]
"No, if he has my details he could easily contact me again using another number"
"What should I do?"
He began pondering to himself as he paced to and fro within the hollow room.
"Sigh"
"Well I have no choice I guess".
{All right then I'll play}
"Ping ping ping"
{Alright then the game starts soon!}
The message displayed on the screen in italicized words but Renols mind was packed with more important problems, making him take the unknown messages as a joke as he tossed his phone on the chair and ignored it. unaware to him that it was his first mistake
