Neutralize, Execute, Protect, and Defend
The New Earth Police Department is the biggest force on New Earth that isn't under the jurisdiction of a military or a militia. It is considered a small army that handles everything from violent criminals to small-scale terrorists, protecting the innocent and serving this country in this singular world now known as New Earth.
CyberOrcs, Techno Elves, and Bionic Humans are the common races that roam in this new world with CyberDemis being a select few. With augments and electronics replacing magic after an arms race of research and development, the world is different from what it was 300 years ago. It's a survival out there of the fittest, smartest, and strongest amongst the different segments of the New World.
Central being the center of this new world is the most occupied of the bunch being busy left, right, and center with everything from commerce, politics, and even the corporate world. If you want to live off as a 9 to 5 being this is the place to be. Above that is the North where its cold regions are known for its blue-collar and mining specialists, they turn mountains into money extracting as much from the raw materials devices needed. It's a warzone that want to earn a quick buck from mining.
Underneath Central is the South where agriculture flocks around as it's the rural part of this new world. Home of the hard-working men and women who kept the world fed and a great place if you want to live off minimal augments. Despite its basic nature and location its one of the best places to recruit people for the N.E.P.D. with pure strength being their best export for the force. Next up is the East, the brains of the New Earth best place to find the smartest people around they're tacky but well respected throughout the new world you can't go wrong with them.
And finally, the West, let's just say everyone else is from this place. The misfits, the good people, the bad people, and everyone in between. It's a hodge-podge of creativity, strength, tact, chaos, and everything else people think is a talent. It's a place where everyone usually starts from and then leaves to find better pastures on either Central, North, South, or East. Not that it's bad but we got someone from there who'll be joining the force soon enough...
9:30 AM Monday, N.E.P.D of West District 5...
"Step inside Rookie your new place is waiting for you. You'll finally pay back the crimes you committed in this place. At least they'll actually treat you better than back in boot camp." The man pushed the young rookie out of the bus alongside his bag as the bus left.
"Damn..." The rookie picked up his bag and walked to the new place he's been dispatched to.
He entered the bustling District 5 station of the N.E.P.D. seeing all of the officers walking around with paperwork and dealing with recent criminals moving towards the detainment area.
"Hey, you look new. Come follow me you're the only rookie this year." The young rookie followed the Techno Elf toward the meeting room where he's gonna be briefed of his situation.
The door to the meeting room opened and housed four officers who were in the middle of a short meeting. But they were in time as the short meeting was closing and the other two officers cleaned up and left the meeting room to meet with the Chief officer of this department.
"So you're the rookie everyone is talking about." Said the Deputy Chief sitting across the table.
The female officer saluted the two higher-ranking officers and the rookie followed suit saluting the two.
"At ease, you can now go." Said the chief as the female officer left the room.
"You're that rookie from the new program the Mayor established. From street kid to now an officer, you'd be surprised this is a lighter punishment than what you were meant to be charged with. Now, Officer Rook." As the deputy chief pointed the rookie to sit down.
"The reason why we had this private meeting with you first before we get started is how astonished you were the only one of those first batch of punks to successfully become an Officer for the N.E.P.D. You're talented if I say so. And you'll be paying back the community by becoming a part of our force to protect the peace you punks disrupted. Where you from originally son?" The Chief stood up as he was cleaning up the paperwork of the meeting room.
"I came from the West-South Border town District 11. Stationed at District 8 where I was trained to be an officer by the 4th regiment's chief trainer." Rook replied.
"I see so you're from Jason's regiment. You'll be one of the officers once you get comfy of your current future. Any objections or questions of your situation? Come on you can talk your head out." Said the Deputy Chief.
"I'd say it's better than being stuck in prison. Got nothing to do but to serve my life sentence as an officer for the N.E.P.D." Rook replied while smirking.
Both officers were astounded by the answer of this rookie.
"You'll fit well in this establishment welcome to the force, Officer Rook." As the Chief officer shook hands with the first-ever officer to be recruited via the RTR Program...
The RTR Program also known as the Redeem Train Recruit Program is a recent program established by the West's Mayor as a trial from the Central Government to give a second chance to those criminals to payback the community they once ridiculed or have terrorized as a way to recover from their life sentence to serve the New World. Rook is the one and only successful detainee who was released and joined the force.
With this newfound freedom, he pays back the community as a newly appointed officer...
10:23 AM District 5's N.E.P.D Office
"Officer Rook you'll be riding with me for today's patrol. I am Officer Weiss, and you'll be my riding buddy." Officer Weiss smiled as he pointed Rook towards the carpool.
"So what's for today's patrol gonna be?" Rook asked as he was writing down the paperwork.
"We'll do our standard routine check around District 5's complex area downtown. After that, we'll be going upstate just by the docks." Officer Weiss showed me the roadmap for today's patrol.
"I'll do what I can out there and learn as much as I can from you Sir." Rook stood straight.
"Those military guys taught you to respect huh? Let's go you don't have to be overly tense in your first task of the day." Officer Weiss is relaxed as he opens the cruiser they'll be using today.
"I'm just tense because I'm finally doing this after all the crap I've been doing wrong in my life." Rook looked in the horizon as their cruiser left the motor pool.
"Well that RTR program certainly has changed you. What were you in for actually to be in prison in the first place?" Officer Weiss asked as we stopped at a stop light...
Rook froze a bit as memories of his past life as someone who was misunderstood...
