The island of the giant Dragonite lay deep within the ocean, shrouded in thick mist.If it weren't for Dragapult's remarkable memory, even after one previous visit, Luo Yuan might have had a hard time finding the place again.
Not long after entering the mist, Luo Yuan glimpsed his destination.
Sprawled across the vast island, the massive Dragonite lay on its belly, looking bored as it idly dug at the ground with its claws.
As Luo Yuan approached, Dragonite's ears twitched, and it turned its head.
Upon recognizing Luo Yuan, a flicker of tension crossed its face.
Two months had passed since their last encounter, yet the memory of its thorough defeat by Luo Yuan hadn't faded. If anything, it had only grown more vivid.
The instant it laid eyes on Luo Yuan, Dragonite's colossal body trembled.
Noticing the reaction and sensing Dragonite's emotions through the power of Viridian, Luo Yuan raised an eyebrow.
Why does it look like I've done something terrible to it?
He was simply defending himself after Dragonite started the fight, after all.
But Dragonite's feelings toward him weren't solely fear; alongside its wariness, there was also a hint of excitement, almost as if it had been waiting for his return.
"It's been a while. How have you been?" Luo Yuan asked, jumping down from Dragapult and landing in front of the giant Dragonite.
"Grrm…"
Dragonite's eyes softened, and it gestured with its claws in response.
"Bored, huh?"
With the help of the Viridian power, Luo Yuan understood its sentiments.
As a Pokémon of massive proportions, the giant Dragonite had no companions and spent its days alone on the island, drifting into sleep and feeling increasingly isolated.
It had lived this way for countless years, but ever since meeting Luo Yuan, who could understand and communicate with it, the solitude had become almost unbearable.
Dragonite poured out its loneliness to Luo Yuan.
Luo Yuan chuckled, reassuring it, "Alright, alright. I'm actually here to see if I can help you out with that size problem."
Luo Yuan had a few theories about why this Dragonite was so unusually large.
It clearly hadn't been born that way. Given the island's environment, he suspected that the island's overabundance of Dragon-type energy was closely related to Dragonite's enormous size.
"Grrr!"
Hearing this, Dragonite's eyes lit up with hope.
While Luo Yuan let Dragonair out to absorb the island's potent Dragon-type energy and grow stronger, he extended his psychic senses across the area.
With his affinity for Psychic energy growing stronger by the day, Luo Yuan could now spread his telekinetic field to cover nearly the entire island.
Centered on himself, he gathered information from every corner, all feeding back to his mind.
The island's surface seemed ordinary enough.
He found plenty of Dragonite's shed scales and a dozen Dragon Gems, but none of these were the key to Dragonite's size.
If there was nothing on the surface, then perhaps…
"What about underground?"
As Luo Yuan directed his psychic energy downwards, he felt an even richer concentration of Dragon-type energy below.
"Looks like I'm on the right track."
He continued to delve deeper with his mind…
And there it was—a structure resembling a temple, hidden beneath the island's surface.
"Ancient ruins?"
With his psychic senses, he could tell the concentrated Dragon-type energy was emanating from within.
"Dragonite, lend me a hand," Luo Yuan called over his shoulder to the massive Dragonite, who was listening intently as Dragonair described the outside world.
Dragonite tilted its head in confusion as Luo Yuan pointed toward a spot on the ground.
"Use Hyper Beam there."
"Roar!" Dragonite, though unsure of Luo Yuan's intentions, decided not to question the person who'd once crushed it in battle.
Following the instruction, Dragonite gathered energy in its mouth.
A brilliant yellow sphere formed, bright enough to stand out even in broad daylight. After half a minute of charging, Dragonite let out a roar, and a Hyper Beam with a five-meter diameter erupted forward.
BOOM!
The island shook as if struck by an earthquake. Waves rose and fell violently around the island due to the blast's impact.
Luo Yuan paid no mind to the commotion around him.
Instead, he watched as Dragonite's attack blasted a deep crater into the ground, filled with broken rocks and rubble.
Since using telekinesis to move the debris manually would be too tedious, he called upon Deoxys.
Swish!
As soon as Deoxys materialized, its mere presence made Dragonite tense up.
Danger. Immense danger.
Even though Deoxys was less than half the size of Dragonite's paw, the giant Dragonite felt an instinctual sense of powerlessness before it.
Glancing cautiously at Luo Yuan, Dragonite wondered just how powerful he truly was.
If even Dragapult had been a formidable opponent, now there was Deoxys—a Pokémon even stronger.
Luo Yuan didn't notice Dragonite's gaze—or if he did, he likely would have only smiled and shrugged it off.
His attention was fixed on the debris-filled crater.
"Deoxys," he called, gesturing.
After working together for some time, Deoxys had become attuned to Luo Yuan's commands.
Buzz
Its core pulsed with light.
In the next moment, every piece of rubble lifted into the air, floating at Deoxys's command before piling neatly to the side.
With Dragonite, Dragonair, and Deoxys in tow, Luo Yuan approached the edge of the crater.
Lying at the bottom was a temple of ancient design, preserved despite Dragonite's Hyper Beam.
"This is the place. But what in the world is this temple made of?"
With his psychic powers, Luo Yuan levitated himself down to the temple's entrance.
It was then he noticed a keyhole carved into the temple's door.
"A keyhole?"
Luo Yuan raised an eyebrow. Where was he supposed to find a key?
But he didn't necessarily need a key to open a door.
Stepping back, he gestured to Deoxys.
"Psycho Cut."
Hummm
Shifting into attack form, Deoxys's core flashed brilliantly, and a sharp blade of psychic energy took shape along its tendrils.
Shwing!
With a swift slice, the psychic blade cut clean through the stone door—stone that even Dragonite's Hyper Beam had barely scratched.
