Aurora's life is going to take a drastic turn as she endeavors on the overwhelming trail.
Aurora walked through the crowded hallway, feeling like an outsider from nowhere. She had been at her new school for a week now, and she was still trying to find her footing. As she navigated through the sea of many unfamiliar faces, she stumbled upon a group of students gathered near the lockers. Were they laughing and chatting or more like gossiping about her?
Whisper found its way into her ears as she could grab some of their hideous words, "Yeah that's the new girl", "Like she so new here," and "She's so not just our type, girl".
Aurora felt a pang of loneliness and fear gripping her to the bone marrow. Just as she was about to walk away from the scary scene, she heard a voice behind her, she stopped in her tracks, and held her breath then she let it out and turned around. "Hey, you're just the new girl, right?" Aurora turned to see a boy with messy brown hair and a charming smile. He was leaning against a reddish locker, looking relaxed and confident. "Yeah," "I'm Aurora," she replied, feeling a little shy, as she walked closer to him a bit. "I'm Julian," the boy said, extending his hand. "Welcome to our humble school.," Aurora smiled and shook his hand, feeling a weird spark of electricity at the touch. "So, what you doing in the busy hallway anyway", he asked, "just scanning through" she replied with a wry smile, not confident on what to say at that point. As they chatted, they got along bit by bit, Aurora couldn't help but notice the way Julian's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. She felt a flutter in her chest but couldn't find the perfect reason, and suddenly, she didn't feel so alone anymore she had Bryson and Julian as company now. But just as things were starting to look up good, Aurora saw Bryson watching her from across the hallway as they both walked and chatted. His eyes seemed to bore into her soul, and she felt a shiver run down her spine with a hint of fear.
What's going on with Bryson? she wondered.
He also couldn't help but ask the same nervous question, "Why did you choose to transfer over to our school", she felt a pang of nervosity in her chest, as she didn't want to hear that question from anyone, but she replied, "family relocated so had to change school", "Oh, cool" he implied.
As Aurora and Julian continue to chat, they're interrupted by the sound of footsteps echoing down the hallway. Aurora turns to see a boy with piercing green eyes and jet-black hair walking towards them. He's dressed in black, and his eyes seem to be scanning the area as if he's searching for something or someone. Aurora feels a shiver run down her spine as their eyes meet, and she senses a strange energy emanating from him as if she knew him already. "Hey, Caspian," Julian says, nodding in greeting. "What brings you here, at this early noon?", Caspian's eyes narrow slightly as he looks at Julian, and then his gaze shifts to Aurora. "Just observing," he says, his voice low and smooth. Aurora feels a flutter in her chest as Caspian's eyes seem to bore her soul like Bryson's brown eyes. She senses that there's something mysterious and intense about him, and she can't help but feel drawn to him. Julian notices the tension between Aurora and Caspian and decides to intervene. "Hey, Caspian, why don't you join us for lunch?" he suggests. "We're going to grab some food in the cafeteria." Caspian's eyes seem to flash with interest for a moment, and then he nods curtly. "Okay, I'll join you," he says.
As they walk to the cafeteria together, Aurora can't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. She senses that Caspian is hiding some secrets and is unsure if she's ready to uncover them any time soon. Aurora's mind was filled with numerous thoughts about Caspian, it was quite weird to suspect someone she had just met, but her instincts kept on telling her things.
After some while, they were almost done with their lunch, he broke the mid-air silence, "what's your name" Caspian asked, "I'm Aurora... Aurora Stanford" she said, "and you" she asked back. "I'm Caspian Blackwood, but call me Caspian", he suggested before lending his hand for a shake, she responded and shook him, they could feel something not natural, a bit out of the ordinary, but she just smiled and released her hands. As they finished their lunch in the cafeteria, Julian suggested they head to the school's courtyard to enjoy the sunny afternoon atmosphere. Aurora agreed, and Caspian nodded silently. As they walked to the courtyard, Bryson stood at the edge of the hallway, his eyes fixed on Aurora. "Hey, Rora," he said, his voice low and smooth but drop-dead sweet. "I see you're getting to know the locals.", "yeah, sort of though" Aurora suddenly felt a flutter in her chest but didn't seem to know why, as Bryson's eyes seemed to bore deep into her soul. She sensed that he was hiding something, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. Caspian's eyes narrowed as he watched Bryson, and Julian seemed to sense the tension between them. He couldn't bear it, "Hey, Bryson, what's up?" Julian asked, trying to break the ice in the atmosphere. Bryson smiled, but his glowing brown eyes remained fixed on Aurora. "Just enjoying the view," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Aurora felt a shiver run down her spine as she sensed the underlying tension between Bryson and Caspian. She wondered what was going on between them, and why Bryson seemed so interested in her. What could it be with Bryson, she pondered for a while and smiled at him.
