In a dimension far far away ...
There is a throne filled to the brim with skulls. Atop this throne is a devilish being of incomparable might, an eldritchian horror if you will, with an appearance like something out of your worst nightmares. To truly describe it simply isn't possible for the mortal mind, so just imagine Satan, or Khorne, the Chaos Blood God from Warhammer 40k.
Next to Khorne there are a couple of other beings. One of these beings is another eldritchian horror that resembles a truck for some strange reason. It might be the legendary god of reincarnation, Truck-Kun. The other being is a human in a comatose state that is laying on the so- called floor of this crazy Dimension.
" I brought the human you requested Khorne, but I'm still not sure he'll be of much use to you. Just from the fact that it was so easy for me to get him to you means that he's a nobody. In fact, he was so negligible that it's like he never existed."
"Exactly, he's a person that Fate itself ignored. Why do you think it was so easy to pull him out of Fate's grasp? You know how stingy she is. In fact, he is actually a very intelligent person, but due to a lack of motivation and mental issues, he became a failure. If given the right motivation, say his very survival, he might rise to the occasion."
'Truck-kun' looked at him skeptically. " You do remember the last time you tried to use fear to motivate someone, right? You literally drove him insane and he became useless to you."
A trace of embarrassment flashed across the demon lord's face. " I'll have you know, I specifically suppressed his emotions so that won't happen."
Truck-Kun wasn't buying it, "Cmon dude, just admit it, your broke. Everyone else has deals with Fate and can have their pick of great people, while you're scraping the bottle of the barrel. Why don't you just make a deal with Fate like everyone else or just accept your place at the bottom of the deity totem pole?"
Khorne looked at him with a disdainful expression. " I'm someone who became a deity from mortal origins. Not accepting my place at the bottom is just who I am. As for dealing with Fate, you know how expensive that is, right? All I need is a chance to soar, and I think this human is my chance."
" You've said that for every human you had me get and none of them have worked quite like you hoped. "
" Well, you know what they say, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. And except for the last one, I still got some profit from it."
" Well, I can't exactly judge you since I'm also broke. Why else would I be working with you for the chump change your paying me? Is it too much to ask for a tip for my services? "
Truck-kun looked at Khorne's expressionless face and realized he wasn't getting a tip. He cursed Khorne for being a cheapskate as he left.
Then the human that Truck-kun brought finally woke up and saw Khorne's horrifying figure. He did scream in horror at first, but he managed to calm down right away, which he thought was strange.
He then turned to the terrifying being and said, " Uh, hello I'm Viktor. If you don't mind me asking, where am I and who are you? Please tell me this isn't Hell and your Satan.
Khorne tried to reassure him, " Don't worry I'm not Satan and this isn't hell. I'm what you humans refer to as a Random Omnipotent Being or R.O.B in your fanfictions. Do I really look like Satan? I was hoping for a more friendly appearance, but I guess this is simply how your mind views Omnipotent beings. "
Viktor looked at him skeptically, " Yeah, you look like Satan. Could you explain what's happened to me? I already figured out that I'm dead, which sucks by the way, but why aren't I panicking?"
" Yeah, that's my doing, I put a spell on you that inhibits your emotions, with fear at the forefront. The last guy kind of went crazy from my presence alone, which made it pretty hard to have a conversation, so I figured it was best to avoid that."
Viktor relaxed after hearing this. " I guess I should thank you for that. I do value my sanity, or what little of it I do have. Now what do you want with me exactly? Since you refer to yourself as R.O.B, are you here to offer me the chance to reincarnate?"
Khorne then went into his salesman mode." Yep, I'm here to offer you the chance of a lifetime, or I guess afterlife in this case. You get to reincarnate into the One Piece world with any wish you desire, even the legendary system. Wealth, fame, power are at your fingertips, you just need to grasp it."
Khorne then turned into Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls. He then took out his hand which had blue flames on it and said menacingly, " So, do we have a deal?"
Khorne's pitch might've worked on most people, but Viktor is by nature a very paranoid person. Viktor knew that there's no free lunch in this world, he just had to figure out the catch. Since Khorne specifically mentioned a system, then that meant the system probably had a hidden trap.
" You know, that sounds really great and all, but what's the catch? What do you get out of this?
Being asked this question, Khorne adopted a disappointed look and even looked a little less threatening." Sigh, how could you be so paranoid, after all I'm a R.O.B, what could I possibly gain from someone so weak. Out of the kindness of my heart, I've given you this opportunity. Just think of all the different waifus that are awaiting you there."
Khorne's response convinced Viktor that there was a major pitfall. He guessed that the pitfall had to do with the nature of a system. A system gives strength to the protagonist seemingly out if thin air and all it asks in return is the protagonist complete tasks of varying degrees.
The things the system gives have to take a lot of energy to create, so there has to be an even greater return for the system. Viktor guessed the system took something like universe origin energy whenever its host completed a designated task.
This would probably cause a backlash from the universe itself since universal origin energy is probably extremely valuable. This backlash would result in the world turning against the protagonist. For example, a drunk Kaido suddenly appearing and killing you.
As Khorne was waiting for Viktor's answer, Viktor could see a very creepy smile on his face that would put the Joker to shame. Viktor then gave Khorne his answer.
" One Piece does have some good waifus, but that's not enough to trick me. You should at least drop that incredibly creepy smile on your face. It's even creepier than the Joker's smile, which I didn't even think was possible."
Viktor then proceeded to explain his theory about Khorne's purpose to him and Khorne dropped his jaw in shock, " Wow, color me impressed. I can't believe you managed to figure out so much. Its a bit more complicated than that, but you got the gist of it. I'll tell you what you want to know "
Khorne then began to explain Viktor's situation and the choice he'd have to make.
Since Khorne took him out of Fate's grasp, Viktor was placed under his care, so whether he wanted to or not, Viktor was going to be reincarnated into the One Piece World. The only thing he had a say in was what he could take with him.
Khorne tried to convince Viktor to take a system with him because that way he'd directly get the energy he needed. Unfortunately, the universe would sense this and Viktor would probably die quickly like his predecessors, but Khorne would still make a small profit.
Additionally, anything from a foreign power system would also be risky like the sharingan from Naruto.
Overall, the exact risks are hard to pinpoint, but in Khorne's opinion, the safest option that'll still give Viktor potential to reach the top is to pick a devil fruit ability, preferably one that wasn't eaten by anybody.
Since the devil fruits themselves are a product of human's desire for evolution, as theorized by Dr. Vegapunk, if Viktor requests a previously unknown devil fruit ability, it would be as if Viktor's desire is what gave birth to it, and it'll be naturally drawn to him.
If it was a known devil fruit, then the fruit wouldn't naturally be drawn to him and Khorne would have to intervene to guide the fruit to him. Not only would this increase Khorne's costs, which he didn't appreciate, but it would also draw the universe's attention onto Viktor.
Fate is present in every universe, but how influential it is greatly defers. In the One Piece world, Fate plays a huge role as its possible for people to predict the future. Because of this, it's imperative to stay on Fate's good side.
Armed with this knowledge, Viktor began to think what devil fruit ability he wanted. He eventually decided on a devil fruit similar to the ai chip from Warlock of the Magus World. This fruit would be the Data Data fruit. Viktor's mind would become like that of a computer, able to gather data from outside and then with this data make simulations and various other uses.
Viktor told Khorne his decision and Khorne agreed that would be a good choice under the circumstances. Now there was only one other thing to go over before he was reincarnated.
" Through trial and error, I've realized that the safest way to send people is to reincarnate them as a baby. As for your memories, it's best to keep them sealed until around your 5 or 6 years old and then gradually integrate with them. Anything else usually results in mental issues like schizophrenia or even death. " Khorne explained.
" Lastly, I have no idea who your parents will be, and when and where you'll be born. You'll just have to deal with it."
After saying this, Khorne sent Viktor on his way to the One Piece World. While he did this, he erased Viktor's memories of his entire afterlife ordeal. This is standard procedure as mortals aren't strong enough to handle knowledge of the afterlife.
