Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: Ariados

When Cain saw Ariados appear, the system had already scanned all its information.

This Ariados had a very high level, reaching level 27. Although its potential was average, rated as light yellow, compared to the other Pokémon watching, Ariados was undoubtedly one of the strongest.

Cain's Murkrow and Slowpoke were not in a good mood after being interrupted during their meal. Although they were almost full, they were very annoyed by the Ariados that dared to disturb them.

For that reason, they showed no mercy in their attack.

Murkrow soared into the sky, its wings imbued with flying energy, charging directly at Ariados, which was descending from above.

Ariados, seeing Murkrow approaching, tried to escape by pulling on its silk thread attached to the tree. However, when it tried to move, it realized it couldn't; its body was paralyzed mid-air.

"Boom!"

Slowpoke had already used Confusion to immobilize Ariados, preventing it from moving and causing damage at the same time.

In a direct assault, Murkrow struck Ariados with its wings in mid-flight.

Ariados, trapped in the air, looked on in horror at the small, dark Pokémon approaching with energy it detested. Yet, it could do nothing to avoid it.

The psychic energy surrounding it also caused great discomfort, weakening its strength.

So, unsurprisingly, Ariados was thrown even higher into the sky by Murkrow's attack.

"Slowpoke, Confusion again! Murkrow, use repeated Peck to finish it!" Cain ordered.

Hearing this, Slowpoke intensified the psychic energy emanating from its body, launching a devastating mental attack at Ariados, which was still unable to move in the air.

Murkrow, with a beat of its wings, followed Ariados's trajectory, repeatedly attacking it with its sharp beak wrapped in flying energy.

In less than a minute, Ariados, whose level surpassed Murkrow and Slowpoke's by five or six levels, was completely defeated. Its still-warm body fell near the camp.

Since Ariados was a Bug and Poison-type Pokémon, it was doubly vulnerable to Flying and Psychic-type moves. Combined with Murkrow and Slowpoke's superior skills and perfect coordination, it resulted in Ariados's immediate defeat.

The lifeless body of Ariados served as a harsh lesson for all the Pokémon watching from the surroundings.

When Murkrow returned to Cain's side, most of the eyes peeking from the bushes and trees had already disappeared. The few that remained, seeing Ariados's lifeless body, decided to leave silently.

Soon, the atmosphere, which had been eerily quiet, was filled again with the sounds of nocturnal insects and the rustling of leaves in the wind.

Ariados's defeat, as one of the strongest Pokémon in the area, made the others abandon any attempt to attack.

Wild Pokémon tend to respect the strongest and rarely challenge those with such power, as they know that doing so means death.

...

After Ariados served as a warning, no other Pokémon dared to bother Cain and his team throughout the night, allowing them to rest peacefully.

However, Cain did not completely lower his guard. Gastly remained vigilant all night, alert to any movement around them.

As a Ghost-type Pokémon, Gastly is more active during the night. While it rests in Cain's shadow during the day, at night it stays alert to avoid any danger.

Time passed quickly, and when Cain closed and opened his eyes, the sun had already started to rise again from the eastern horizon, waking him with its light.

Cain had a very precise biological clock, developed in his previous life. Although he had once fallen into laziness, since arriving at the Island of Judgment, he had regained his routine and had no intention of abandoning it.

Cain generally woke up around six in the morning, just as the sun began to rise.

The air was fresh and damp, and the proximity to the lake made the humidity even more intense, while the sounds of birds in the forest started to fill the air.

The campfire they had lit the night before had already gone out, but some embers still glowed among the stones forming the base of the fire pit.

There were signs of Pokémon activity around, but apparently, none had tried to approach the tent, so Gastly had not scared them away or woken Cain.

However, the body of Ariados, which had been left there the previous night, was now gone. Only a pool of coagulated blood remained.

Cain headed to the lake, causing a small commotion among the Pokémon playing in the water, making them all disappear quickly.

Cain smiled and shook his head, beginning his morning routine by freshening up with the lake water.

His Pokémon started waking up one by one upon hearing Cain moving around.

Cain prepared breakfast for his Pokémon. Since he didn't want anything too greasy in the morning, breakfast consisted of Pokéblocks and Miltank's milk.

Preparing breakfast was simple: Cain took out each Pokémon's bowls and filled them with their respective Pokéblocks.

Miltank, always helpful, assisted Cain by filling the cups with milk and filling a special bottle with milk for the small Skorupi.

Cain woke up Skorupi on his shoulder and handed him the bottle so he could drink his milk through a straw.

Lately, Skorupi had been sleeping very well, and if Cain didn't wake him, it was unlikely he would get up on his own.

However, Skorupi knew that whenever Cain woke him, it was mealtime.

After enjoying Miltank's milk, Skorupi licked his mouth contentedly, then, wagging his small tail, nestled against Cain's neck to continue sleeping.

Cain couldn't do much about Skorupi's sleepiness, but by checking his data with the system, he could see he was growing well.

Although it wasn't obvious at a glance, the system could obtain precise results.

In summary, Skorupi was growing healthily, and with the help of Miltank's nutritious milk, when he transitioned from the infant stage to the growth stage, his accumulated physical condition would allow him to develop rapidly.

While Skorupi finished eating, Murkrow and the others also completed their breakfast.
