The Sniper ability allows for an increase in the power of critical hits. If in the future Cain can find an item that boosts the critical hit rate for Skorupi, then he, or his evolution Drapion, will become his highest instant-damage attacker.
Especially for Pokémon whose types are weak to Skorupi's attacks, they'll be almost instantly defeated if struck at a critical point, even if there's a level difference of up to five levels.
Additionally, to Cain's surprise, Skorupi already knows two useful moves: Poison Tail and Agility, which demonstrate his talent.
The light blue color of his quality is the highest among Cain's Pokémon. The difference in combat power between Pokémon of different quality colors is significant, even if they're at the same level.
After Skorupi hatched, Murkrow and Slowpoke were particularly happy. They wanted to pet the little one but feared hurting him due to their strength. That attitude of wanting to pet him but not daring to made Cain smile.
To give them confidence, Cain petted Skorupi's shell. It wasn't hard yet and had a slightly rough texture.
Following Cain's example, Murkrow and Slowpoke gently petted the little Skorupi, who was so focused on drinking milk that he didn't notice them petting him.
Soon, Skorupi finished the milk bottle and, after a satisfied burp, climbed up Cain's arm to his neck, where he gently nuzzled his head against Cain's neck before falling asleep.
His tiny pincers gripped Cain's clothing firmly, and despite his size, Skorupi held on tightly, so much so that not even running would make him fall.
Skorupi's pincers have small hooks that easily latch onto the fabric fibers. Unless pulled firmly, it's hard to detach him. After Skorupi fell asleep, Murkrow and Slowpoke took one last look at him before resuming their basic training.
Skorupi has just been born and is still a baby. He'll spend most of his time sleeping.
Cain didn't intend to put him in his Pokéball immediately, as it posed no problem to keep him outside, and his small size made it difficult for anyone to notice he was a living creature.
Before evolving, Skorupi is a Poison and Bug-type Pokémon. Upon evolving into Drapion, his types will change to Poison and Dark. Although his types change, he won't forget his Bug-type moves, which will enhance his offensive versatility.
Bug-type moves are effective against Grass, Psychic, and Dark types. Poison-type moves are effective against Grass and Fairy types. Dark-type moves are effective against Ghost and Psychic types.
Although some of these types overlap, Bug-type moves are still quite powerful.
In the Pokémon world, Poison-type is one of the most dangerous. Unlike the games, Pokémon here can release toxins at any time, not just during moves. These toxins can have effects like Corrosion or Paralysis.
In nature, Poison-type Pokémon are the most feared. Poisoning is one of the most dangerous statuses, and antidotes are essential, though not always effective due to the variety of toxins.
Skorupi, though newly born, already has toxins in his body. As he grows, these toxins will develop and form a specialized organ, making him even more lethal.
Cain decided that, with the Sniper ability, Skorupi will not adopt the attrition strategy used by Gastly. Instead, he'll focus on inflicting deadly poison that takes down opponents in a single hit. Skorupi will be like a king cobra, able to defeat enemies in an instant.
To achieve this, Cain will seek items that enhance Skorupi's poison, reserving his toxins until his poison organ is fully developed. Additionally, Drapion will be able to learn a variety of moves, making him a very versatile attacker.
With Miltank's milk, Cain is confident that Skorupi will quickly transition from his infant stage to his juvenile stage, at which point his training will begin.
With a smile, Cain watched his four Pokémon continue their training. Momentarily, he stopped thinking about Skorupi's growth plans, trusting in his past experience to manage the process.
He took out the psychic training manual he had received from Sabrina and began reading it again. Despite having read it multiple times, he always found something new, as if the simple texts could be analyzed from different angles, revealing different results.
Cain couldn't help but admire the author of the manual, though he regretted that he only had the first part and that it wasn't complete.
Suddenly, Cain felt an urge. "System, how much time remains to complete the analysis of the rapid psychic skill upgrade task?"
"Due to the database expansion, the analysis time has been extended. Remaining time: 6 hours, 31 minutes, 42 seconds," the system responded.
It seems that the inclusion of additional data has lengthened the analysis time.
"Tomorrow morning, I should have the results..." Cain thought to himself.
