YEP, that was the sad story between Sohee and Ahn Yujae.
So, it was a bit awkward to be with his ex-boyfriend while he was busy taking care of his drunk classmate.
To be honest, Sohee wanted to leave after seeing Ahn Yujae.
But the classmate sitting next to him suddenly threw up.
Nobody stepped up to help the poor kid, so he did.
Sohee found out that the classmate who threw up on him was named 'Cho Euntak'— a twenty-year-old kid.
A Recessive Alpha, apparently.
The kid wanted some banana milk, so he volunteered to accompany him to the convenience store.
For some reason, Ahn Yujae followed them.
That was how Sohee ended up outside the convenience store, sitting on a table under an umbrella with Ahn Yujae and the sleeping Cho Euntak.
This is a bit awkward.
Fortunately, a distraction came when Cho Euntak's phone rang.
Sohee answered the call because his classmate was too drunk to do so. He then informed Cho Euntak's friend about the kid's condition.
<"Ah, I see. I'll come and pick him up then. Thank you.">
"Alright. See you."
"Is the kid's friend coming?" Ahn Yujae asked, putting a hang-over medicine on Sohee's side of the table. "Is this kid your friend, Sohee-ya?"
"I saw him at the orientation earlier, but I haven't even talked to this kid yet," Sohee said. "Thank you for the hang-over cure."
"You're welcome," Ahn Yujae said, pausing for a moment. "Have you been well, Sohee-ya?"
"Yes. As you can see, I'm in a better place now."
"You gained weight and your complexion looks better."
"Thank you."
I should really buy a gift for Kim Haewon and Kim Hanhae.
"Sohee-ya, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings before," Ahn Yujae said in a calm yet slightly nervous voice. "I should have been more understanding of your situation back then. But because I was immature, I failed to be considerate. Looking back, it was really stupid of me to expect that we'd only do fun things and talk about positive stuff."
"I appreciate your apology, but it's making me embarrassed, so you can stop now," Sohee said, laughing lightly to make the situation less awkward. "Yujae-ya, your feelings back then were valid. Just because we were dating didn't mean you should have continued being my emotional trash can. The only mistake you made was talking about it to your friends before being honest with me."
That was the thing that hurt Sohee the most.
Yes, he was embarrassed that Ahn Yujae's friends heard about his struggles back then.
But he was more hurt that his (now ex) boyfriend didn't confide in him.
"I do get why you couldn't say it to me directly, though. After all, I was too emotionally dependent on you back then," Sohee admitted, smiling sadly. "Let's just say that we both made a mistake."
Ahn Yujae suddenly became teary-eyed. "Sohee-ya, are you really in a good place now?"
"Would I be here if I wasn't?"
"But…"
Hmm?
Why did it look like Ahn Yujae knows something?
Did Cha Jinha snitch?
"Yujae-ya—"
"Hyung…"
Sohee wasn't able to finish what he wanted to ask because Cho Euntak— his drunk classmate— suddenly got up while crying.
What's wrong with this kid this time?
But now that Cho Euntak had raised his head, Sohee could tell that the kid was indeed an Alpha.
So freaking handsome.
"I'm sorry, Hyung," Cho Euntak said between sobs. "I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I missed the timing to say that I was already awake. So, I heard everything. I'm really sorry…"
Oh.
"It's alright," Sohee said, smiling at the kid before pushing the bottle of the hang-over cure towards Cho Euntak. "Here. Have this." He then pointed at Ahn Yujae. "Your other hyung bought it for you."
Cho Euntak looked back and forth between Sohee and Ahn Yujae. "Thank you. I'll be rooting for the two of you, hyungs."
Sohee chuckled awkwardly. "You don't have to do that, kid."
Cho Euntak suddenly opened his arms. "Hyung, can I hug you?"
Ah, someone is really drunk.
Sohee smiled and was about to politely decline the hug when, suddenly, a hand slammed hard against the table.
"Cho Euntak, get up."
Oho?
Another young and handsome Alpha appeared.
"Baek Jeho!" Cho Euntak said excitedly, almost jumping from his seat as he wrapped his arms around Baek Jeho's neck. "You're late."
"But I'm already here, so pull yourself together," 'Baek Jeho' said, and then he bowed towards Sohee and Ahn Yujae. "Thank you for looking after my Cho Euntak, Hyungs."
Possessive much?
"We'll be leaving now," Baek Jeho said while carrying the now sleeping Cho Euntak in his arms— princess style. "Good night."
And, just like that, Baek Jeho left with Cho Euntak.
"Then I'll go ahead, too."
"Can't you stay for a little while, Sohee-ya?"
"I'm sorry, but I'm a little drunk, Yujae-ya," Sohee said, smiling apologetically at his ex-boyfriend. "I want to go home and sleep now."
"Oh, I see. Alright," Ahn Yujae said, nodding. "Sohee-ya, promise me that you won't avoid me, okay?"
***
IT WAS only a ten-minute walk to his apartment.
But Sohee took a taxi.
And, for some reason, it felt liberating that he could afford convenience now.
Riding a taxi would have broken my bank account before, but not anymore.
Sohee smiled and closed his eyes.
Yes, I'm finally living and not just simply breathing now.
***
SOHEE thought he'd go straight to bed after coming home.
However, he found a tall and handsome "ghost" waiting in front of his apartment building.
That person was so pale he could be mistaken as a Grim Reaper.
Does this kid only own black clothes?
"Sohee Hyung," Kim Heedo greeted him politely. "It's been a while."
Haaah.
Sohee put his phone on his ear and pretended to make a call. "Hello, Gh*st Buster. I would like to report a ghost at my place."
