THIRD PERSON POV
As Sky excuses herself to go into the bathroom, she gets in and faces the mirror, her tear streaked face staring back at her. Her face was a reflection of all the pain and torment she had faced from being with Ocean.
"You need to stay strong Sky… This is your job, the plan was obviously to get Amanda back and you are just playing your part and you shouldn't be bothered and you should know by now what Ocean is playing at, the plan was always to get Amanda back and you are just a player in this game." she muttered to herself.
As Sky uttered those words to herself, she felt a semblance of peace and serenity within her, it was all her way of comforting herself, her way of telling herself that everything was going to be fine. All of this was just a passing phase and as soon as her contract with Ocean was over, she would get away from him and everything that ever reminded her of him.
Soon, she was ready to go back to the table to join them and as she took the first step, Amanda walked into the bathroom. Sky stared at her, wondering why the timing was so against her. At the time she needed to collect herself better, the devil of a woman, her bone of contention, had walked in to taunt her further. Sky knew that surely, Amanda wasn't here to appease her or to calm her down, she was here to rub salt into an already exposed wound.
"Excuse me.." Sky said, attempting to walk past her.
Instead, Amanda blocked her path, refusing to allow her to go. Sky knew then that Amanda was here for a fight even though she wasn't ready for any of that.
"What's up with you Sky? Finally showing your true face are we?" Amanda chuckled.
Sky looked at her with a mix of confusion and curiosity because she didn't understand what Amanda meant.
"I don't understand what you mean." Sky said.
"Oh please, don't give me that bullshit. I'm not going to buy it, you know i am much smarter than that or have you forgotten who you are talking to? I know what you are doing and I know the kind of person you are. Or do you think you've won? Trust me, Ocean wouldn't have even glanced at you if I hadn't left and the fact that he chose you to marry you doesn't mean he loves you." Amanda spat.
"Oh stop it, stop saying that." Sky gasped.
"Oh but I will. I am only telling you the truth, Ocean is only rebounding. Yes, that's what you are, a rebound and a cheap whore who would do anything to get a fine handsome man. I can't even believe you are this cheap and guess what? This thing between you and Ocean isn't going to last and whether you like it or not, when the time comes, i'm going to claim my man back and there is nothing you can do about it and you are going to regret ever trying to climb his bed," Amanda snapped, walking all around Sky like a predator would do to its prey.
Sky took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a bit as she came to terms with the fact that Amanda was a sore loser and someone who will go to any length to get what she wanted and in that moment, Sky knew that she needed to be extra careful around her.
"Look, i don't know what you are talking about but you don't have to worry because as you were speaking, all your words were falling into the thrash." Sky hissed before finally walking past her.
As she walked out of the bathroom, she kept telling herself to ignore Amanda because she wasn't worth it at all and would never be worth it. At this point, she was already too tired of the whole thing, all of the insults and pain Ocean had unknowingly caused her was just too much for one person to handle. She was really angry that the day started so well but all of a sudden, it was ruined by Ocean's vengeful ex.
Sky walked back to the table to meet Ocean and Mr Blake speaking in low tone but she was too bothered to even care about what it was they were discussing. Her presence prompted Ocean to look up even as he realized that there was something going on with her.
"What took you so long?" Ocean asked.
"Can we just go home already?" Sky said in an exasperated voice.
"Oh really? But we just got here."
"Okay, that's no problem."
She plopped back to her seat, her hands gently massaging the top of her head. Everything that had happened within the last five minutes had taken a toll on her even worse than she was letting on.
"You've barely touched your food as well." Ocean said, a look of worry in his face.
Just then, a low ringing from the table caught everyone's attention as Ocean glanced at the caller ID before rising to his feet.
"Please excuse me, I have to pick this call," he said, walking away.
Sky remained at the table with Mr Blake, a semi-awkward silence between them even though Sky had a feeling that there were some things he wanted to say.
"So Sky, tell me, why would a pretty girl like you be with Ocean?" he asked.
Confusion showed on her face as she tried to understand what he meant by that question. She didn't know where it was coming from and she knew she needed to be careful when answering it because she didn't know if this was a setup or not.
"I don't understand," she managed to say.
"I mean if you want a man more wealthy, I am more wealthy than Ocean and I can give you everything he can give you."
Sky was so lost, her brain working in overtime as she tried to piece everything together. She knew that there was no basis for whatever he was saying so this was quite a surprise to her.
"Excuse me? I'm married and you are as well so what are you talking about?" Sky asked, turning to face him.
He adjusted on his seat, moving closer to her that made her slightly uncomfortable as she moved farther away from him.
"Look my dear, you don't have to pretend. There's nothing Ocean can give that I can't."
"Hold on! Are you forgetting you are married?" Sky countered.
"And so? It doesn't stop me from doing what I want. And besides, we don't even have to get married, we can just have fun and I'm certain you will be very good in bed. I mean, everyone wants to have a taste of you and because you're married, it doesn't mean you need to stop yourself from enjoying the goodies out there."
Sky was beyond irritated because she had held him in high esteem. She thought he had sense, thought he was different from all the other men but clearly she was wrong, he was even worse. And now, it suddenly made sense to her why Amanda was with someone like him and why she was being so attached to Ocean.
"Excuse me, I am going to the bathroom." Sky said, walking away.
That was a lie as what she wanted to do was to find Ocean to take her away. She realized that if she spent an extra minute with him, she might do something she'll regret. At that moment, she just needed her and Ocean to leave the premises as soon as possible and she walked outside in search of Ocean. She was quite worried because she couldn't find him anywhere.
As she walked towards the bathroom, she finally saw him with Amanda in a very compromising position. Ocean couldn't see her but Sky saw everything that was going on. Amanda saw Sky even as she gave her a mocking smile and to make it worse, Amanda leaned into Ocean, giving him a big kiss, leaving Sky stunned.
