Chapter 2 - Marry me

THIRD PERSON POV

(OYSTER RESORT, SOUTH CHELSEA.)

The Blue Slate International Technology Conference and Trade Fair is held here every year.

After three days of interlope conferences and business meetings, Ocean's team of three were at the Resort's restaurant to celebrate their gains with a lavish dinner.

It was a buffet and everywhere was bustling with laughter and chatter.

Ocean finished serving himself and was about to return to his table when his body went stiff. The temperature around him dropped, and his breathing became heavy.

"Mr Woods?"

Sky, his assistant, was right beside him, staring closely at him.

"Just a minute."

He passed his tray to her and briskly walked away with a grim face.

Bewildered, Sky adjusted her glasses and frowned.

"What could have happened?" She muttered to herself.

Getting to the table, Sky set down the trays in his hands and then turned around.

She went ahead to find her boss, Ocean.

Slipping out of the restaurant and following a paved, narrow path that led to the beach, Ocean hurried along until he caught sight of a group of men and women. They were four in number. Two men and two women.

Of the four, one woman caught his attention. She was slim with a tiny waist that accentuated the wideness of her hips. Her butt was plump and bouncy with every step she took.

Amanda!

It's really Amanda!

Every air on his skin stood up and his nerve endings trembled with excitement.

Even without seeing her face, Ocean was sure it was her. He knew her body in and out.

His heart beat erratically as he hurried after them, closing in.

He wanted to call out to her and let her know he was around, but the man beside Amanda, Blake Matthew, wasn't a man Ocean could casually offend.

Just as the oblivious group arrived at an open-air bar, built with bamboo, Blake snaked his hands around Amanda's waist, drew her into his arms, and kissed her with a ferocity that slammed Ocean's chest like a tsunami wave.

Fuck!

He staggered to a stop. The shock of seeing another man kissing the woman he loved was like getting his chest crushed with a sledgehammer. The pain felt real, making him see red.

"Stop touching her, you son of a bitch." He groaned under his breath.

Standing in the dark, he watched with a deadly glare as Blake whispered into Amanda's ear, making her giggle like a teenager.

It's been six months.

Six months of not seeing her or hearing from her, only to find her in another man's arms, getting smothered.

Jealousy, anger, and murderous intent clawed at his mind, bringing him to the brink of insanity. Just as he was about to step out of the dark and charge at them, someone grabbed his right arm from behind, bringing him back to his senses.

"Boss." Sky arrived behind Ocean and cautiously called out to him.

Following Ocean's gaze, he was just in time to see Amanda and Blake breaking off their kiss. Hand in hand, the two walked to their seats. Amanda clung to Blake like a second skin, coquettishly smothering him with affection.

Realizing what was happening, Sky Ocean's assistant could only shake his head.

Knowing her boss and the lady seated there had a history together.

She feared that Ocean would do something out of place.

John Blake was one of their biggest catches at this conference. He mustn't know about Ocean and Amanda's business unless it would affect their work.

Sky knew that it wasn't needed now.

"Mr Woods, let's go back inside. Everyone is waiting for you."

"Mr Woods," Sky called out again when she noticed that his attention was still on them.

"Find out John Blake itinerary. I want it by morning."

"Yes sir."

Gritting his teeth, Ocean turned around and walked off.

The moment Ocean and Sky left the Bamboo bar, Amanda turned her head in their direction, she furrowed her brows in confusion as she saw the family figure leave.

Ocean? She thought to herself but ignored because she didn't see the face clearly.

The next morning, just as Sky stepped out of the bathroom, her phone started ringing.

"Hello…"

"We are going to the beach today. I have ordered a bikini for you. It will soon arrive in your room. Come to the beach by 10am." Ocean's solemn voice said into her ear, followed by dead silence.

"Hello, sir…" Sky trailed off when she heard the sound of her door bell.

Just then, someone knocked on her door. Still in a dazed state, Sky walked to the door and opened it.

"Good morning, ma'am. I was asked to bring this to you." A lady in the resort's uniform handed her a white bag with the resort's logo on it.

"I don't understand. What is this?"

"It's a bikini. Your… "

"Oh, I understand. Thank you."

Sky grabbed the bag and closed the door.

She sighed as she wondered why they had to go to the beach today when they were supposed to leave today.

She couldn't help but wonder what was going through ocean head.

She knew it was all a part of her job after all she was his secretary and personal assistant.

Having no confidence in her looks and body shape, Sky was used to wearing one-piece suits. She felt out of sorts and shy. Luckily, she had a white wooly trench coat to wear over the bikini.

Remove it." Ocean stated simply as soon as he set his eyes on Sky.

"Sir…"

"I don't want to hear it." He cut her off, not giving her a chance to explain why she wore a trench coat over.

Not daring to refuse, she quickly unbuttoned the trench coat and slid it off her shoulders.

Feeling exposed and uncomfortable, Sky was overcome with shame. It felt as if everyone was staring at her ugly body.

Not bothered about her obvious discomfort, Ocean pointed a drink stand to her.

"Get me the usual."

He then turned around and walked away.

Sky felt like entering the ground, but she gritted her teeth and made her way to the drink stand, trying not to think about being naked and ugly.

Luckily, the line wasn't long and it was soon her turn. She ordered a coconut drink mixed with liquor and honey.

It didn't take her long to find Ocean, but once she did, a chill ran up her spine and the drink in her hand almost dropped.

She watched in dread as Ocean approached an older man with gray hair. The two seemed to be familiar with each other.

They shook hands and then walked over to a white plastic table, placed under a beach hut. The scene should have been normal if not for the tall lady with voluptuous breasts,— hanging on to the gray-haired man's arm and talking to Ocean.

Why is she here? It then dawned on her the reason why Mr Woods wanted her to come to the beach.

It was evident that he still had feelings for Amanda and she knew that because he was yet to heal from it hence the reason she has to be his personal chauffeur each time he was drunk

The first thing Sky felt on seeing Amanda was fear. Having been at the receiving end of the lady's vicious schemes more than once, she has grown to feel weak in the knees in her presence.

"Hey, hurry here!" Ocean called out to her, bringing her back to her senses. Wishing she could just disappear, Sky took a deep breath and walked over to the hut. Her eyes met with Amanda that moment and she lost her focus.

Sky tripped and spilled half of the drink in her hand, almost falling into Ocean who caught her and prevented her from falling.

"Oh. I am sorry. I am sorry," she quickly uttered in fear that Occean would scold her because he doesn't fail to publicly scold her when she messes up.

"Easy now," Ocean said softly, holding onto her waist firmly as he helped her stand back to her feet. With a doting gaze, he took the drink from her and used his handkerchief to wipe her wet hands and belly.

"My girlfriend gets clumsy sometimes," He chuckled and Sky gasped.

She stared at Ocean in shock but he was still looking at Mr Blake and Amanda. She thought she might have heard wrongly.

Did he just refer to her as his girlfriend?"

Soon Ocean assisted in helping her clean up, ignoring her shocking stare.

"Your girlfriend?" Mr Blake uttered in surprise.

Ocean smiled. "Yes."

Sky was dumbfounded. She didn't even know what to say and continued to go along with the flow although her heart was racing fast.

"Alright then, we shall take our leave," Ocean said, now satisfied that he did. He had claimed Sky as his girlfriend wanting to get a reaction from Amanda but Sky had no idea as to why he referred to her his girlfriend.

"Come on babe," Ocean said to her, intertwining their fingers together before leaving Mr Blake and Amanda.

All through the day Sky followed Ocean lead and by the end of the day, they left the beach to go back home.

The drive back home was tense and solemn. Sky wanted to know why he had suddenly claimed her as his girlfriend and acted like she was.

To him it might be nothing but to her it was a lot. She didn't even fail to notice how he stole glances at Amanda and would act nice to her the minute Amanda was staring.

Amanda is happily married to another man yet Ocean couldn't get over her after six months, she thought to herself.

The first stop was her house and when the car parked, she said her goodnight to Ocean and bolted out of the car but to her surprise, Ocean followed behind her.

"Did you forget something sir? Did I forget something?" She uttered in a questioning manner.

"No." He replied firmly, placing both hands in his pants pocket as he took a closer step towards her.

"Marry me, Sky," Ocean gave her a deep look that held her spellbound.
