Chereads / Reincarnated as The Daughter of A General / Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Comrade and Best Friend

Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Comrade and Best Friend

It's been exactly 4 years since Jane has been reborn into this new world as Jane Vixen, the daughter John Vixen. Jane had grown into a fine little girl, wearing a dress that had now perfectly complimented her new cute look, contrary to her more outgoing look in her past life.

Jane was usually around the courtyard of her father's and his 2 sworn brothers's shared courtyard, which had a beautiful tree that bloomed pink petals on it's branches, as if it was a cherry blossom tree.

She finally had a grasp of what this world was. A world that resided in the old age of many mixed cultures. It was obvious just by seeing her new uncle, Gin, and the stark difference her uncle had compared to her father, John. However, that was not the only thing she found out.

She had looked through and walked through the manor of her father and her 2 uncles. Apparently, her uncle is a direct descendent of the current king of this country, and is a lord of this part of the land. This uncle wasn't Gin, it was her other uncle, Kyo.

And now, on the current time, Jane can be seen sitting down below the seemingly similar tree of a cherry blossom tree in the middle of the courtyard, slumping down at the bottom of the tree, thinking about her new family and new life.

*sigh* 'Even now, I can't believe I was reborn in a new world. Nonetheless being born into...quite the family.'

Jane obviously did not expect this to happen. To be reborn into a family that was a direct descendent of an emperor of this continent. Moreover, her new father is the sworn brother of not only the descendent of the emperor, but also the acclaimed God of War, which was her uncle Gin.

Her mind was still riddled with thoughts about her new world. After all, she had never ventured out of the manor because of her physical age. She wanted to at least explore the outside but she knew her new father would flip out, due to him being a bit overprotective.

'Seriously...What am I gonna do in this small space?' She asked herself, placing her left elbow on her left leg and leaning her head on her left palm, letting out a bored sigh.

"You seem downer than usual. Want to play?" A young boy's voice pointed it out behind her. Jane immediately recognized who was the owner of the said voice, but was no less surprised and a bit frightened by the sudden voice.

"Don't sneak up on me like that, Jin!" Jane screamed in anger and shock. The boy called Jin however, only smiled and sat down beside her.

Jin kept his smile and sat beside Jane. He wore a simple outfit that resembled a karate gi, but was green and had a black belt. He also wore a headband that had a dragon crest in the middle that made his hair rise up like a spiky, small flattop.

"I'm sorry. I just wanted to cheer you up." He smiled at Jane, who can only let out a pout of annoyance.

"Hmpth! It better not happen next time, Jin. I'm telling father." She threatened, making Jin eyes widen and scared, flaying his arms no.

"Please don't tell uncle John! H-his quite scary..." He pointed out, to which Jane agreed.

John Vixen was quite the intimidating man. A man who was said to rival 10,000 foot soldiers all by himself was no small title. But, Jane wondered why Jin was so scared of her new father, when his father Gin, is revered as a God of War.

'Maybe you should look at your dad more.' Jane thought, thinking it would at least lower his fear of her father.

"...I won't tell my father. But this better be the last!" She pointed her index finger at his noes, making Jin sigh.

"Yes Jane. It will not happen again. You have my word."

"Hmpth! I need more than your word for it to be valid." Jane looked away, crossing her arms.

"You can trust me. A true warrior never gows back on his word!" Jin announced proudly.

'...What an idiot.' Jane thought as he looks at Jin admirably.

Jane wanted Jin's enthusiasm and determination in her previous life. If she was atleast 1/4th of what he is, she'd be popular then. But, she knew it was too late, making her sigh, with Jin noticing it.

"Are...you tired? We don't have to play today, if you do not want to. I can-"

"No...it's okay. I was just...thinking of something..." Jane said in a sad tone, remembering her past life.

"Do you...want to talk about it? If it's bothering you, I'm here to help atleast." He reassured Jane with a pat on the shoulder.

"No need, Jin. It's just a little thought." She reassured the worried Jin, who just sighs.

"If you say so, Jane."

The two relaxed under the pink petaled tree in the middle of the courtyard, taking in the breeze and relaxing in this brief moments of piece. The two knew that the entire continent was at war, and their fathers were in the frontlines, fighting for peace.

The two were visibly worried for their fathers. Jane had began to grow closer to John, as if he was actually her true father. And Jin, who wanted to follow in his father's footsteps of becoming a true warrior. It was safe to say that they were worried, with one being more so than the other.

"...I wonder when this chaos ever ends." Jin suddenly said, earning a "Hmm?" from Jane. "...This...chaos, it's reached the entire nation now. First was the witch cult rebellion, led by that heretic, and now...our fathers are fighting against a tyrant who plans to takeover the entire nation. It's just one battle after another. There seems to be no end."

Jane just looks down, seeing the suddenly saddened Jin, wanting a world of peace. The same can be said about her, but she didn't share the same strength of that desire. After all, the modern world was always chaotic. Threat of World Wars, rebellions, and takeovers of rebel groups. But she was never in the middle of it. But now...she was experiencing the chaos itself, and she knew that when she grows up...she will fight.

"...That can't be answered Jin..."

"...I know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...together?"

"Pffft! Are you that desperate to be with me? Hahaha!"

"He-hey! I was in the moment!"
