Chapter 5 - Wedding Night

 "Eat, why aren't you eating?"

Qin Feng pointed at the rice bowl.

  "I'm full."

  Guan Hanyan replied softly.

Qin Feng couldn't help but think of Guan Hanyan's plea to the crowd in the morning," I know how to weave and I eat very little…"

His heart ached. He picked up Guan Hanyan's empty bowl, scooped a bowl full of oatmeal, and placed it in front of Guan Hanyan.

  "I'm really full…"

  "Finish it!"

Qin Feng interrupted Guan Hanyan's words domineeringly, and his tone became more serious.

  "…Alright."

Guan Hanyan was frightened by Qin Feng and obediently picked up the bowl.

" Let's eat together!" Qin Feng picked up some vegetables and put them into Guan Hanyan's bowl.

Guan Hanyan hummed softly and picked up her chopsticks again.

As she ate, her tears fell.

  "Don't cry!"

Qin Feng panicked." I apologize. I shouldn't have shouted at you. Don't cry…"

"Don't…don't say that. You're the head of the family. It's only right for you to hit and scold me."

"I'm crying because this is the first time I've been forced to eat more…and it's oatmeal…" Guan Hanyan sobbed.

"Silly girl, you will get better and better in the future."

Qin Feng sighed and patted Guan Hanyan's head." Don't cry. Eat more."

Even in the later generations, the lethality of touching one's head could not be underestimated, let alone in the backward feudal era.

Guan Hanyan felt her head go numb, and then a warm current entered her heart.

  And so, more tears fell…

Qin Feng was afraid that if he continued to comfort him, he would really not be able to eat this meal. He could only pretend that he did not see it and eat with his head lowered.

Luckily, Guan Hanyan calmed down quickly and wiped her tears away before continuing to eat.

After cleaning up the dishes, the two of them sat opposite each other. The bean-sized lamp swayed left and right, and the atmosphere was subtle and awkward.

Guan Hanyan lowered her head, her two hands unconsciously tugging at the corner of her clothes. Her face was flushed red, and her body was trembling uncontrollably.

Two years ago, when she first joined the bridal procession, her mother had told her what was going to happen next…

Qin Feng knew that Guan Hanyan was nervous and was thinking of something to ease the atmosphere when he heard rustling sounds coming from outside the window.

  "Who is it?"

  Qin Feng opened the door.

" The King Kong is out. Run!"

A group of children fled in all directions.

It turned out that a group of children had come to eavesdrop--this was also a tradition of Haijiao Village.

" A bunch of brats. They didn't run far. They'll probably come back later." Qin Feng pointed at the shop." You go to sleep first. I'll go to the shop to clean up."

Qin Feng wasn't Liu Xiahui, and sitting opposite him was a beautiful young lady. Naturally, he was tempted.

However, this shabby house was leaking air from all sides. If someone really listened in on the walls, wouldn't it become a live broadcast?

And he could tell that Guan Hanyan wasn't ready.

" Anyway, I've already married her back. There's still a long way to go. She'll be mine sooner or later. There's no rush. Let's solve the problem of survival first."

Qin Feng consoled himself and then focused on making the bow.

As expected, the group of brats in the middle came again twice and made a ruckus until midnight.

The devilish brats had stopped, and the lamp oil had also burned out. Qin Feng took off the door and lay on it. He recalled the wonderful day and thought about his next plan.

Unlike other transmigrators who had great ambitions, he didn't want to be a king. He just wanted to earn a lot of money, be an ordinary scumbag, and marry a goddess-level wife…Hmm, this goal seemed to have been achieved, so he had to set a new goal…Since Da Kang encouraged concubines, he should contribute to the government and marry a few more beautiful and obedient concubines…

Perhaps she was too tired and fell asleep as she thought about it.

In his dream, he relied on all kinds of inventions that surpassed the times to gain both fame and fortune. He became the richest tycoon in Da Kang and lived the life of a landlord. His business spread all over the world and he had large houses all over the country. When it was hot, he would go to the north to avoid the heat, and when it was cold, he would go to the south to spend the winter. He married many beautiful concubines and worried about which ones he should pamper every night...

Guan Hanyan woke up when the sky turned bright.

His face was a little haggard. It was obvious that he didn't sleep well last night. He was constantly wondering if Qin Feng would go back to sleep. What should he do if he went back to sleep?

Should he give in half-heartedly or pretend to be asleep?

She struggled until midnight before she fell asleep.

Seeing Qin Feng sleeping on the door, Guan Hanyan quickly ran back and took the only blanket over, carefully covering Qin Feng.

Then, she squatted beside the door and looked at Qin Feng, who was sleeping soundly.

He was too embarrassed to look at it carefully yesterday.

He's much better looking than the blacksmiths in our village…He's also tall…He's also a scholar, unlike the other men in the village who are fierce. When he marries his wife, he'll beat her up first and set the rules…

After peeking for a while, he left the shop and went back to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

After preparing breakfast, Guan Hanyan couldn't find anything else to do. She could only sit on the wooden stake and wait for Qin Feng to wake up.

"If only there was a loom." She thought in boredom.

" Good morning!" Qin Feng waited until the sun rose before he came out of the shop. He stretched and greeted Guan Hanyan.

  "Boss, you're up!"

Guan Hanyan quickly ran over to bring the water that she had prepared earlier.

By the time Qin Feng finished washing his face, breakfast had already been placed on the table.

After breakfast, just as she was about to clear the table, a young wife in her twenties entered the courtyard with a small bag on her arm.

  "What is she doing here?"

Qin Feng muttered in his heart.

It was Zhang Mancang's sister-in-law, Lin Yunfang. She had been married to Haijiao Village for four or five years, but Qin Feng had never spoken to her.

Just as he was about to greet her, Guan Hanyan, who was beside him, stood up excitedly and shouted,"Cousin Yun Fang!"

  "Cousin?"

" That's right. This is First Uncle's cousin. We were very close when we were young."

Guan Hanyan was very happy to see her family.

"Cousin." Since they were relatives, Qin Feng stood up and greeted them.

Lin Yunfang smiled at Qin Feng and pulled Guan Hanyan into the house.

"Looks like this cousin isn't satisfied with me either."

Qin Feng rubbed his nose and didn't mind. He went back into the shop.

After spending most of the morning, the first crossbow was finally completed.

There were still some arrows left from the old blacksmith that he had made for the hunters. They could be used after a slight modification, which saved him a lot of effort.

Pulling the bowstring, he loaded the arrow and aimed at a wooden pillar ten steps away.

The arrow hit the wooden pillar with a bang.

"The accuracy is alright, but the power is not enough!"

Qin Feng frowned slightly and readjusted his mind.

By the time he was satisfied, the sun was already above his head.

"We can go up the mountain for a walk."

Qin Feng carried his bow and walked out of the blacksmith shop.

Lin Yunfang had already left. Guan Hanyan was sitting in the courtyard in a daze with her chin in her hand. The dustpan beside her was drying the wild vegetables.

"Where did the wild vegetables come from?"

  Qin Feng asked casually.
