Ares was stunned. He never imagined that the couple, husband and wife, were so different from what they appeared during the day.
As he tried to recover from the shock, the woman freed her husband with a mischievous smile and, in a sensual voice, said, "Honey, I'm going to take a shower. Want to come join me?"
"Of course, my dear," he replied with a knowing smile, making a gesture that hinted at intimacy.
The couple headed toward their bedroom's bathroom and closed the door. As soon as they disappeared, Ares sneaked into the room. He approached the nightstand, grabbed the keys, and locked the door, preventing any escape. Then he hid behind the curtain covering the window, holding the knife, waiting for them to come out.
Thirty long minutes passed. Finally, the couple emerged, wrapped in bathrobes, laughing and joking, unaware of the demon hidden in the room, ready to strike. The woman moved toward the closet to get her nightclothes, while the husband went to the window.
Ares held his breath when he heard footsteps approaching. But the man suddenly stopped and frowned, as if a bad feeling had frozen his stomach. He always trusted his instincts, and this time they told him something was wrong. He ran to the door to call the guards, but found it locked.
"Honey, what's going on?" the woman asked, worried.
"Did you lock the door?" he asked.
"No, I left it slightly open so the butler could spy on us. Why do you ask?"
Her words hit him like a lightning bolt. Someone had sneaked into their room. Without wasting time, the man rushed to the switch near the window, trying to activate the alarm.
Ares realized he had been discovered. In an instant, he struck. The knife sliced through the air and sank into the man's side with a loud "THUNK!"
"AAAAH!" he screamed, while a piercing "IIIIIIII!" echoed through the villa.
Outside, the guards ran toward the house, alerted by the alarm. "Something's happened to the master and mistress!" one of them shouted as they rushed inside.
Inside, the man pressed his hand to his bleeding side, staring at the window, waiting for the attacker to show. But Ares didn't waste time. He had to act quickly. With a swift movement, he struck again, aiming for the chest.
The man raised his hand to protect himself. The blade pierced his palm as if it were butter.
"AAAAH!" he screamed, followed by the high-pitched scream of his wife, trembling in a corner.
"What do you want from us? We'll give you everything, just let us go!" the man pleaded.
Ares laughed with a demonic voice that froze the blood in their veins. "Can you bring my mother back to life?" he growled.
"What… what does your mother have to do with us?" the man stammered, terrified.
"Have you already forgotten the servant you wanted to rape? She took her life to escape a filthy bastard like you!"
The revelation hit the man like a ton of bricks.
"You… you are her son?" he whispered.
"Exactly. And the butler? I've already taken care of him."
Upon hearing that the butler was already dead, the man tried to flee, but his wounds betrayed him. He fell to the ground, helpless. Ares approached. The knife gleamed in the dim light. Just then, a noise behind him alerted him. He turned just in time to see the wife throw a crystal vase at him.
"BOOM! CRACK!" The vase shattered, but Ares dodged it and, with a lightning-fast movement, struck the woman in the throat. "SHLICK!" The blade sank in, followed by a choking "GURGLE" as blood poured out.
The woman's body fell lifeless, collapsing onto her husband. Ares, blinded by rage, continued to strike, attacking the couple with demonic fury until both were dead.
"CLOMP! CLOMP!" Loud footsteps echoed outside the door.
"Master, answer us or we'll break the door down!" shouted one of the guards.
Ares looked around for an escape. The captain of the guards ordered,
"You two, break the door down on my signal! Three, two, one…"
