"What?!" After hearing the voice, everyone looked towards the zombies, and sure enough, the zombies began slowly walking toward them.
Lin Feng drew his Tianwen Sword and ran towards the zombies. With a single strike, he slashed through the throat of the closest zombie, its head falling off immediately.
Watching Lin Feng become more powerful as he fought, a devilish smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. Both Saeko and Saya were stunned.
"Is this still the person who was running away earlier? Why is he so strong?" Saeko was amazed as she watched Lin Feng dance gracefully among the zombies, slaying one after another with ease. But more than that, she felt a surge of battle intent.
At that moment, a zombie appeared behind Lin Feng. Everyone hurriedly warned him, "Watch out behind you!"
Lin Feng smiled slightly, his toes slipping as if he were performing a ballet. The sword in his hand spun a few times in the air and decapitated the approaching zombie.
Finally, Lin Feng finished off the zombies and walked to the school bus with Saeko and the others.
"Lin Feng, who exactly are you? Why did you come to our school?" Tokida Saeko asked, looking at him.
"I can't tell you who I am yet, as for why I came..." Lin Feng paused and glanced at Saeko.
"Why are you staring at me?" Saeko asked, puzzled.
"I came for you!" Lin Feng said as he stepped onto the school bus, leaving Saeko standing there, her face turning slightly red and dumbfounded.
By the time Saeko snapped back to reality, Lin Feng had already gotten onto the bus. After taking a moment to adjust her emotions, she headed toward the bus. Just as everyone was getting ready, a cry for help suddenly rang out from behind, "Help!"
Six boys and two girls were running towards the bus. Lin Feng looked at them, feeling helpless. "Shido, I didn't expect to meet you again. Well, whatever, I'll just take Tokida Saeko and leave. Scum like you is really annoying."
"Who are they?" Takashi asked, looking at the group.
"That's Shido from Class 3-A," Saeko replied, recognizing them.
Upon hearing the name, Miyamoto Rei's expression changed.
"Can we go now?" At that moment, Shizuka shouted.
"Please wait a moment!" Komuro Takashi quickly called out.
"There are zombies gathering ahead too, if too many come together, the vehicle won't be able to move," Shizuka said nervously, watching the increasing number of zombies in front of them.
"Just run them over, right?" a nervous reply was heard.
"A vehicle like this can't run over that many, it would flip the bus," Saya rolled her eyes at Takashi.
After hearing Saya's analysis, Takashi ran toward the door of the bus.
"We don't need someone like that!" Miyamoto Rei grabbed Kamishiro Takashi's arm, trying to stop him from getting off.
"Rei, what are you talking about!" Takashi pulled away from her, asking with a frown.
"Don't save him, that kind of person can just die!" Miyamoto Rei shouted as she moved closer to Takashi, the distance between their faces just a few inches apart.
Lin Feng, sitting next to Saeko, watched the drama unfold. At this moment, he pulled out a bag of "Cha Cha" sunflower seeds and two bottles of water, handing them to Saeko while continuing to play the role of a bystander (the sunflower seeds were something Lin Feng bought when he first arrived in this world and had kept them with him; the water was from a vending machine he smashed open while looking for Saeko and killing zombies).
Meanwhile...
"Everyone, hold on, we will definitely be saved!" Shido stopped and directed the others, shouting.
"Yes, teacher!" the students responded.
"But even if we keep going like this, whether we'll make it is still a question," Shido thought as he continued to direct the students.
At that moment, the last boy tripped and fell to the ground.
"Teacher, I twisted my foot," the boy cried out, grabbing Shido's leg for help.
Zitou looked back at him, pushed up his glasses, and grinned wickedly. "Oh, really? Looks like this is your stop!" He raised his foot and kicked the boy in the face.
The boy's eye was ruptured by Shido's kick, leaving a shallow footprint on his face.
"My eye, my eye! Teacher, help me!" The boy screamed in agony as he clutched his face.
"The world before is over. In this world of survival of the fittest, the weak have no value in surviving!" Shido said, then walked toward the school bus.
"No, no, my leg!" The boy's screams attracted the surrounding zombies, and they quickly swarmed in, devouring him. He was soon engulfed by the horde.
"Shizuka-sensei." After Shido was on the bus, the door was closed.
"Alright, let's go!"
The school bus crashed through the zombies blocking its way and broke through the school gate, heading towards the city.
"Looks like we made it out!" Takashi wiped the sweat off his forehead, sighing in relief.
"Mm." Hirano Toda responded with a sound of acknowledgment.
"We're safe now. Was Saeko the leader?" Shido, now relaxed, walked over to Busujima Saeko and asked.
"We don't have a leader. We're just helping each other to survive," Saeko replied as she wet a tissue with water from Lin Feng, wiping her wooden sword as she spoke.
"That's not good. To survive, there has to be a leader, especially one who shoulders everything,"Shido said meaningfully, making sure everyone in the bus heard.
Upon hearing this, Miyamoto Rei turned to Takashi and said, "You'll regret this. You'll definitely regret sticking with this guy."
"How did the city end up like this?" someone muttered, and everyone turned to look out the bus window.
"Tch, if you ask me, if we go further, it'll only get more dangerous. Besides, why are we dragging Takashi and the others with us? Why didn't we just find a safe place at the school?" One of Shido's group of blonde-haired lackeys complained. (For those interested, the original novel expresses this in a way resembling elementary school writing, so I'll refrain from further detail here.)
"Exactly, we should have just found a place to hold up, like the convenience store earlier!" the weak boy added.
Suddenly, the bus came to a screeching halt, startling everyone. Shizuka unbuckled her seatbelt and shouted at the two troublemakers, "Stop fooling around! How am I supposed to drive like this?"
The blonde boy and the weak boy immediately fell silent, staring at Shizuka.
"What's the big deal? Just because the weapon's a bit bigger, what's so impressive about it?" The blonde boy muttered, unwilling to back down.
