Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Encounter with Busujima Saeko

Lin Feng watched as the number of zombies increased. His Tianwen Sword was becoming more and more occupied, each swing taking down one zombie. Around him, the ground was littered with zombie heads rolling everywhere.

"Yiya!" Suddenly, a piercing scream cut through the air near Lin Feng's ear.

Lin Feng walked toward the source of the sound and saw a group of male zombies gnawing on a girl's body. On the stairs, there were four or five male zombies biting into her back.

"Ah, let go of me! Let go of me! Ah~~!!"

Lin Feng raised his Tianwen Sword and decapitated the zombies one by one. Blood spilled everywhere, and corpses piled up. If anyone else were here, they would surely vomit. But Lin Feng only felt his blood boil, eager to kill more zombies.

After cleaning up the zombies, Lin Feng looked at the girl, whose back had been almost entirely eaten away by the zombies. He shook his head slightly, turned around, and headed down the stairs toward the main hall of the teaching building, clearing the zombies blocking his path along the way.

"Ding~~~~~"

Suddenly, a zombie walked toward Lin Feng. He swung his sword to strike, but just as he was about to hit it, the zombie tripped over a zombie's head lying on the ground, causing Lin Feng's sword to hit the guardrail instead. The crisp sound attracted more zombies to move toward him.

Lin Feng, now surrounded by zombies, could only charge forward, forcing his way through the crowd with his sword.

With the Tianwen Sword in hand, Lin Feng quickly cut a bloody path through the zombies. He had managed to escape earlier when the zombies hadn't fully gathered, but this time, he had come dangerously close to being caught several times.

More and more zombies kept gathering, and Lin Feng had no choice but to keep running toward the teaching building, all while killing the zombies blocking his path.

If it weren't for the fact that Lin Feng had been exercising regularly despite some nutritional issues, such intense activity would have left him completely exhausted. This just showed how terrifying the zombie horde was.

However, there was some good news. The system notification showed that Lin Feng had killed 127 zombies, bringing him one step closer to his goal of killing 1,000.

"Bang~~"

As Lin Feng reached the teaching building, he kicked a fallen trash can. The noise attracted the zombies, who began heading toward him. Lin Feng cursed his bad luck, then continued to run, killing zombies as he went.

He ran and fought until he reached a corner and saw the "Infirmary" sign. The door was open, and a few zombie bodies were lying outside. Without a second thought, Lin Feng ran inside.

As he dashed into the infirmary, he suddenly bumped into a soft body and was knocked backward.

Feeling a little guilty, he used her as a cushion, repositioning her with a push.

"Bang~~"

Lin Feng fell to the ground, and then he felt something soft land on his face. Even if he hadn't experienced it before, after all the anime he'd watched, he immediately recognized what had landed on him.

Time seemed to freeze for a moment. Finally, Lin Feng spoke up, "Um, could you please get up? I can't breathe."

"Sorry, I didn't notice," came a soft voice, which made Lin Feng pause. "Wait a second, why is she using that tone? Could this be a fake version of Highschool of the Dead?"

Lin Feng quickly turned his head to see a girl in school uniform, kneeling beside him, holding a wooden sword. She had long black-purple hair that reached her thighs, and her face was slightly flushed, making Lin Feng freeze for a moment.

"Hey, classmate, why are you sitting on the floor with Saeko-chan? Are you two up to something naughty?" At that moment, the blonde Marikawa Shizuka entered the room, saw Lin Feng and Saeko sitting on the floor, and asked teasingly. Lin Feng could only facepalm at her comment. How could he deal with this clumsy girl?

"Are you alright?" Lin Feng turned to Busujima Saeko, still in a daze. He was actually quite surprised. He hadn't expected to bump into Saeko.

"I'm fine. Why are you running so fast?" Saeko said before hearing a zombie groan. "Ugh~ Ugh~"

"It looks like the zombies are chasing you. But you're a big guy, what are you scared of?" Saeko's tone shifted from shy to annoyed. A big guy afraid of zombies? (Who said men can't be afraid?)

Lin Feng chuckled inwardly but didn't say anything.

"Well..." Lin Feng was about to explain but saw Saeko's angry face and suddenly wanted to tease her. "If you think you're tough, why not go out and deal with them?"

"Hmph, fine, I'll go, but it's useless!" Saeko shot a glance at Lin Feng, feeling irritated. With that, she stood up.

"You don't know if it's useless or not. You've never tried it," Lin Feng muttered, watching Saeko walk toward the door.

Although Saeko heard Lin Feng's words, she didn't respond. Her face was red as she quickened her pace, trying to avoid the topic. Despite her tough exterior, she was still just a girl.

At the door, they saw a horde of zombies approaching the infirmary. Saeko and Shizuka froze, realizing that the reason Lin Feng had run so fast earlier was because the zombies weren't just one or two—they were a whole crowd.

"Hey, why aren't you going? Get up there and take us out of here!" Lin Feng stood up, dusting himself off with a look of curiosity, almost like he was watching a show.

"Uh..." Saeko stared at Lin Feng, not knowing what to say.

"Alright, enough joking. Where should we run now?" Lin Feng quickly changed the topic, seeing how awkward Saeko looked.

"Don't you know?" Saeko looked at Lin Feng with surprise and disbelief.

"How could I know? I'm not from your school. This is my first time here!" Lin Feng grinned, holding back his laughter as he responded.

Saeko's face was a picture of confusion, and even Shizuka, the usually naive girl, started laughing. Only Saeko remained bewildered.

"Hey, what's so funny? And why are you holding back your laughter?" Saeko glared at Lin Feng.

"Because I didn't expect you to make such a face," Lin Feng replied, smiling.

"I don't make such faces!" Saeko yelled at Lin Feng, embarrassed but also a little annoyed.

"Alright, enough of the jokes," Lin Feng said, his face turning serious. He gently patted Saeko's puffed-up head and said, "We need to figure out how to escape. The zombies are getting closer."
