Chereads / Hello, Mr. Werewolf / Chapter 10 - 10.Caller

Chapter 10 - 10.Caller

"Leila! Leila! Don't you go!"

Bonnie shouted anxiously from her spot, eventually rushing out the door to Leila's side with a vengeance.

Leila smiled lightly and lowered her eyes, "What's wrong?"

Bonnie exasperatedly glared at her, "I'm still not worried about your safety if you are in danger ..."

Seeing the little girl's tangled face, Leila also stopped teasing her and turned to chatting about other things, "How's your revision going? Our teacher said that the exam this time will be harder oh."

Bonnie was successfully diverted, tilted her head and thought for a while, "Other than Elvish and Math which I still haven't mastered a bit, I'm fine with everything else, I just hope I don't run into that damn graphic analysis of medicinal herbs again, I'm sure that's going to be the biggest obstacle preventing me from passing."

"Don't worry Bonnie, I can give you a good helping hand in class tomorrow, I have plenty of experience in that area ..."

The two chatted as they drifted away from the small town of Dunder, Leila had already inquired about the general location of her destination, not to mention that she had Bonnie to lead the way, so she wasn't worried about getting lost.

Since there was no carriage to Bayek, they could only walk, which was a test for the two fifteen or sixteen year old girls.

As the road gradually remote, the two also feel the atmosphere that belongs to the Bayeux town - quiet, eerie ...

The two little girls also turned from laughing on the road to being cautious.

Leila was a little thankful at this point that she was lucky to have Bonnie with her, otherwise she didn't know if she would dare to walk on her own.

"I think we'd better go back, it's really dangerous here ..." Bonnie hugged Leila's arm tightly and shrunk her head to look around, she always felt that something was staring at them in the forest around them.

"It's okay Bonnie, we'll be there soon, I can already see the town." Leila was also a little uneasy, but her tone was forced and her voice was low enough that only the two of them could hear it.

Behind them, in the shadows of the layers of trees, a single eye was staring at the two of them, with some slight disbelief in its demeanor.

The master said one, how did it become two? Which one was the one the master was talking about?

It wasn't just Bonnie who had the feeling of being spied on, Leila did as well, and the moment they stepped into the town the feeling got stronger and came from all directions.

The two looked carefully at the houses of the town, all very run down and not at all like signs of being lived in, but the feeling of watching from the windows of a few of them was that much stronger.

Now that Leila had some faith in Bonnie's words, she wouldn't be surprised if some strange monster popped up here.

Since I'm here, it's better to go to that gentleman's house to take a look before saying anything, he shouldn't be able to lie to me ... Leila's footsteps were a little firmer after she made the decision in her mind.

Geren's house was on the outskirts of the town, so the two didn't have to walk for long.

However, before Leila and the two of them could see Glenn's home, they heard his voice first.

A strange humming came from up ahead, and although the sound was small and tinny, it was easy to hear in this quiet town.

"That seems to be his voice." Leila said in surprise.

"The gentleman you said saved your mother?" Bonnie inquired.

"Yes." Leila took her friend's hand and quickened her pace, heading in the direction the voice came from.

...

Glenn's home.

Having just returned from the basement, Glenn was starving, so he rushed to cook vegetables for dinner.

He was quite confident in his cooking skills, even with the limited conditions he could still make a few good dishes, the flavor was average, but compared to what the lower class people in this world ate it was much more delicious.

Fiddling with the cooking utensils, he unconsciously hummed a little tune, singing a few lines from time to time.

The sound traveled out of the window, and the old man next door heard it and muttered in a low voice, "This restless brat, how annoying!"

Turning to face the puppy boy who was eating with a smiling face, "Baby, stay away from that guy from now on."

...

He had just served the hot dishes all over the table and was about to start when there was a sudden knock on the door.

Glenn frowned, puzzled, and made his way to the door.

Gently opening the door a crack, he looked out and saw Leila and a strange girl outside the door.

When she saw Glenn's face, Leila was instantly delighted, lifting her skirt and saluting, ''Honorable sir! Greetings to you, I didn't formally introduce myself last time, my name is Leila, this is Bonnie, we've met before."

"I didn't think you were really here, please come in." Glenn was also a bit surprised, he thought the other party wouldn't dare to come in, he guessed that he would be scared back if he went a bit deeper, and letting the beast go outside was just in case, but he didn't expect the little girl to be braver than he thought.

Leila on the other hand was a little surprised by Gren's behavior, this casual-like feeling she encountered for the first time.

"Excuse me." The two girls brushed past Gren, during which time Grendor took note of the timid companion following Leila.

I can't believe he was willing to accompany his friend here, it seems to be a good relationship ... Seeing that everyone was inside, he casually closed the door gently.

The slightly shabby living room smelled a little musty but not too strong, and there was hot food still steaming on the wooden table, all in full view of the two girls.

"Mr. ..."

"Just call me Glenn."

"Mr. Glenn hasn't had lunch yet? I'm so sorry to interrupt your meal." Leila expressed some apologies to Glenn.

"It's fine, I don't really take it to heart, but since I've caught up, let's eat some together and try my handiwork." Gren waved his hand and made an inviting gesture.

From the moment they met, the little girl in front of them acted courteous, as if she was deeply afraid of upsetting Geren, to which he was only slightly surprised, and attributed it to being the norm of people's etiquette here.

Before Layla could say anything at this, Bonnie's eyes lit up with stars.

She didn't notice, but Glenn was keenly aware of it.

Hey, get ready to be bowled over by my cooking! Feel the divine might of the Eating Empire! With a small smugness in his heart, Gren straightened his back slightly.

"How can this be, this is so rude! Let's ..." Leila refused repeatedly, but was interrupted by Glenn.

"No no no! Little girl, there's nothing rude about it, when I say it's okay, it's okay, in my hometown, it's the most basic courtesy to invite guests to eat, if you don't accept it, then I'm going to be very disappointed."

Bonnie, who had just been slightly frustrated by Leila's refusal, had her hopes rekindled after hearing this.

"When ... sure, we won't let you down, we're willing to eat." Leila's expression was slightly embarrassed, and a flash of surprise passed through her eyes.

One should know that it was not easy for a commoner family like theirs to ensure their own subsistence, and such things as treating a guest to a meal were naturally taboo, while the guest would also be self-conscious and not consume the host's family's food.

Leila couldn't imagine how simple and rich this gentleman's hometown should be to have such a custom.

However, looking at the layout of his home, he does not look like he is rich, even worse than his own home, but he is still willing to adhere to this custom?

Sure enough, it is a kind gentleman ... Leila's eyes added a few more points of admiration.

Glenn arranged seats for the two and attached tableware, only in the face of the tableware given by Glenn, the two little girls were at a loss.

"Mr. Glenn, may I ask what this is ...," Leila picked up two wooden chopsticks and carefully said.
