[Five years later]
Right now, I was an entirely different person. Simply put I had experienced some pains that toughened my skin.
"Miss Nova?" some voice called. "This way please."
I followed the secretary entering a spacious office, noting the requirements. The staff in charge mentioned that the boss of the enterprise liked interviewing the employees himself so no mistakes were made.
That alone made me nervous. A couple of people went in before me but when it was my time, my hands trembled. Not because I was afraid though. This was a first. I never had to work in my previous pack because my parents did enough for them.
I walked in, sighting a man who had his back facing me. He slowly turned towards me and I gasped.
Right before me was the man who humiliated me five years ago. Jared Blaze. He hadn't changed one bit; in fact, apart from the facial hairs, he still had that handsome face that could allure any woman.
I shivered intensely to the extent that I began sweating. My wolf wailed crying in hurt.
"Nova???" he said.
My black heels began to retreat back unable to face him.
"No wait."
I didn't make a move to listen instead I burst out of the room.

Picking up my phone, I went to my phone diary unlocking it before I began typing these words.
To Claire,
I miss you so much. A lot has happened since you left. We moved to another pack and they're super nice. They me feel so welcomed. Sometimes, I simply wish you didn't leave us. Maybe we'd finally have a shot at being happy. Mum and dad like it here too, yet I see the sadness in their eyes whenever they think of you. I really hope that things do work out this time. Dad said we might be staying for good if things work well. But I must say, there are certain things I'm scared of. This child in me makes me believe things are not yet over. That this has even barely started."
- Nova.
My trimester wasn't easy. It made me wish I did not take the deal on the first place.
However, my wolf comforted me when I needed her. She was there for me. Even when my daughter was born. It was so agonizing but she stayed.
I named her Claire, after my sister who died five years ago. My parents were the happiest when she was born.
We raised Claire the best way we could. It seems nothing good lasts forever because she started asking questions. "Mummy where is daddy?" she'd ask.
"He's on a journey." I'll tell her. "He's going to come back one day and see you."
That was the best way I could tell her that her father kicked me out. That he chose a life for himself, with his mate. Explaining might just complicate things. This was peaceful. Much better.
Suddenly, the pack's emergency bell ring.
"Alpha, the rogues have crossed the boundary! They are currently attacking the whole pack!" a pack guard voiced out to the current Alpha.
"Take everyone you can to safety. I'll deal with it." he growled. The new pack was being attacked by the rogues.
"Dad, what's happening?" I asked picking Claire from the ground as we were currently outside.
"You all come with me!" dad said to my mum and I.
Looking around, the rogues seemed to be winning. There were flames everywhere, wolves shifting and howling. They tried to defend each other but each moment was hard.
Claire began crying and quickly, my hands covered her mouth so she didn't make a sound.
A few weeks to this attack, mum had predicted it. In her last communication with the moon goddess, she told her that the current alpha had a secret coven where he kept teenage girls.
He forced them to do his sexual desires and she was angry. She punished him, saying mum shouldn't interfere. Mum told dad we'd soon be saying goodbye. Prior to this, she made us warn the people dear to our hearts.
Our new friends. When we did, they left few weeks before all of this to save their lives too. But we stayed so it didn't seem like a plot.
"I think it should be here." dad said.
"What is here?" mum asked worriedly. We both stared at dad as he searched for something. Whatever it was I hoped he'd be fast.
"Found it!" he said. That instant he made some funny movements with his legs using it to clear a path of thorns on the ground. Surprisingly, we saw a piece of a manhole cover.
Dad rushed to open it, "Get in."
Mum was the first to go down, I put baby Claire in her hands before following her. Dad was the last. He was about to get in when someone put a rope around his neck.
"Dad!" I yelled. He struggled only for mum to hand Claire to me.
"Wait here." she said climbing out of the tunnel. My heart thudded rapidly, wondering when my misery would end. It seems like the moon goddess had a thing for putting me through hell.
I bit my lips waiting when I heard some body, thud on the ground. Mum rushed into the tunnel and when I saw dad, I let out a sigh of relief although he limped on one leg, he was fine.
Since werewolves had healing ability, he was going to be fine. I knew it. I now got it. Since dad worked with the pack men he knew of the secret tunnel.
The minute we got out, we saw few people running away and we did the same too. Dad had already parked his car at some spot. He put us all in his car driving us all away.
That night, we fled for safety back to Moonstone pack. I watched baby Claire. She stared at me with her blue eyes. She took those from her dad and had this striking resemblance with him.
My hair was raven black; hers was brown like Jared's. She also took most of his features excluding her nose which was mine.
"Thank God we are safe." I muttered the minute she parked in the garage of our house.
Dad made some documentation and with some paperwork, we were back to Moonstone pack. Starting my life in the same pack where I used to live would be challenging.
The next morning, was a bit strange. When we went outside it was just like everything was changed now.
Over the years, Moonstone pack had improved. There were more buildings, more developments; our pack was now a city. Compared to before, the Alpha was now inaccessible.
Rumors said Jared was now a CEO of a multi-billion enterprise. He had certain achievements and this made the people of Moonstone pack to look up to him.
It got to a time I turned off the television whenever it showed him when Claire was around. Mum said I should calm down. To be honest, I tried to but when I remembered how I had an extra year in college, something made me ache.
Dad took contractor jobs at construction companies trying to make ends meet. Mum helped me enrol Claire in a school so she continued her education.
She applied to be a teacher there, yet the bills were still too much.
I knew needed to get a job. I needed something that'll balance the equation. We were restarting our lives so everyone needed this. Moreover I had a degree in business.
One day, I met an old classmate at the coffee shop, Cherry, and she told me of the slot at a well-paying company.
"You're still an angel, Cherry, thanks so much." I appreciated shaking her hand.
"I'm glad to help. It's been long since I've seen you around here, by the way, what happened?" she asked.
"It's a long story."
The job application favoured people who studied business administration. Since I had one, I took the offer, dressing corporately for the interview.
The interior of the enterprise was very vast. Everywhere was glistening and there wasn't a speck of dust on the ground making me brace myself. If it was years back, I would not make it to the arena. I'd probably step back out of nervousness.
Right now, I was an entirely different person. Simply put I had experienced some pains that toughened my skin.
