"Then as you wish!"
Speaking thus, Nathan transferred the Darkin weapon's vitality to Shenhe.
The previous dialogue was a condition imposed by the simulator system.
[Detected controller's presence, you must conduct appropriate tests for them to draw you forth!]
To ally with him, the girl needed to show her determination.
"What is this?... So warm!"
As vibrant vitality seeped in, Shenhe's pain instantly vanished.
Her injuries healed immediately as she stood up with her small hands.
"Is this what a demon is?"
Clenching her tiny fists, this warm feeling was completely different from her imagined demonic power - like basking in sunlight.
"Shenhe... what did you do?"
Seeing this, unable to understand why his daughter stood again.
This incomprehensible situation gave the middle-aged man an ominous feeling.
Now, Shenhe ignored her shouting father.
Color returned to her pale face, totally drawn to the greatsword beside her.
"That's it, draw me forth, I'll give you the power to live!"
Nathan continued coaxing her - at least verbally, he really fit the demon role.
But he had no choice, given his current sword form.
Without someone drawing him, Nathan could do nothing.
As the spirit-monster approached, Shenhe silently walked toward Nathan.
The cave's atmosphere grew tense, creating an indescribably strange scene.
[The girl grips you, her hands full of determination]
The simulator's message came, though Nathan could already feel the situation.
Shenhe stood on tiptoes, extending her slender small hands to grip the sword handle that stood half a head taller than her.
"I... I want to live..."
Before her words finished, she drew out the massive sword.
[As a Darkin weapon, you've been drawn, now beginning Darkin bloodline fusion!]
[Darkin template activated, selected template - Darkin Blade Aatrox!]
"Boom!!!"
Bloody power erupted around Shenhe!
The approaching spirit-monster was forced back by this aura.
"Is this... demon power?"
Shenhe examined the greatsword, which felt weightless despite being taller than her.
"Yes, this is my power!"
Being gripped by the girl gave Nathan a ticklish sensation.
Though he wanted to complain about the system's response - it really was the Darkin Blade Aatrox!
"Mr. Demon, is that you?"
After her initial panic, Nathan's voice now brought Shenhe comfort.
"Yes... you can call me by name... Nathan!"
After binding with Shenhe, their mental communication became smoother.
"I see, I'm Shenhe, pleased to meet you, Mr. Nathan!"
Shenhe introduced herself, unaware Nathan already knew her name.
She left unsaid that Nathan didn't feel like a terrible demon at all.
Nathan heard her thoughts and just smiled.
He wasn't really Aatrox, wouldn't try everything to steal his host's body.
"We'll discuss more later, first deal with this monster!"
At Nathan's reminder, Shenhe saw the spirit-monster charging again.
"Mr. Nathan, how do I defeat it?"
"Simple, raise your weapon and strike down hard!"
Nathan gave a very simple answer to Shenhe's question.
"Like this?"
Following his instructions, Shenhe raised the crimson greatsword.
Meeting the charging monster, she slammed the sword down.
Any League players would recognize this as the Darkin Blade's Q skill - Dark Flight!
Unlike the game's three strikes, this real version released crimson sword energy that split the earth.
"So... strong!"
Even Shenhe who launched the attack couldn't help but marvel.
Was the monster weak? No... Nathan's power was just stronger.
"No...."
Meanwhile, the middle-aged man watched.
His lifelong wish, his hope, shattered by this crimson attack.
"You... you unfilial child?"
He furiously cursed at Shenhe.
Though Shenhe said nothing, the now-bound Nathan felt her deep sadness.
"No... impossible, this can't end here!"
After venting, the man seemed even more possessed.
He madly rushed to the monster's remains, grabbed half its corpse, and chanted.
"Then I'll offer myself as vessel and sacrifice!!!"
This revealed his uglier side - he could have used himself for the life-exchange ritual.
But to reunite with his dead wife, he forced the pain onto his daughter.
Now driven mad, he had no hesitation.
Picking up Shenhe's dropped dagger, he stabbed his own abdomen.
"Father..."
Shenhe's remaining innocence and kindness made her call out instinctively.
But too late - the man's blood gushed like a spring.
"Great Spirit... use my flesh and remains to return to this world!!!"
The evil ritual continued, the split monster's corpse stirred.
Its remains suddenly rushed into the man's self-inflicted wound.
In moments, the original corpse vanished.
"Hahaha..."
Instead, a rapidly expanding body appeared.
This body emitted hideous laughter, growing in holy white light.
"Father???"
"Don't look anymore. From when he turned against you, he stopped being your father!"
Nathan stopped Shenhe's calls, speaking earnestly.
From the moment a father attacked his daughter, he ceased being human.
