9th September 1951
The light shone through a small crack in the door, a tiny kid with black hair, in shoddy clothes that look like they haven't been washed in months, plays with an empty plastic bottle. The wooden shack he's in is run down, as if it can collapse any day, it is very unsanitary as there is dust and grime everywhere. The kid looks very malnourished, his hair long and matted, and he's going to go out and look for food soon.
The kid stands up and looks at a photo of his parents which is cracked. This is the only thing in the shack besides the bottle. "엄마 아빠 행운을 빌어주세요" [Wish me luck mom and dad] the kid says as he sets the picture on the floor.
The kid opens the door, the vast expanse of grass with some trees in the background reveals itself, this is where the kid lives. After some walking, he makes it to a stream that is running. He squats down and drinks some, but he hears a twig snap behind him, he pulls out a dulled knife from his pocket, "멈춰! 칼을 치워!" [Halt! Put the knife away!] 2 soldiers wearing the american flag on their arm hold their rifles to the kid. "You like that Korean Jack?" One soldier says to the other, "Shut up, just do a good job." The other responds.
"꼬마야, 칼 줘. 우리가 너를 기지로 데려갈 수 있어, 거기에 음식이 있어." [Kid, hand me the knife. We can take you to the base, we have food there.] The soldier says, "거짓말쟁이!" [Liar!] The kid shouts out, slowly backing up. "Oi, Ron, let's just kill the kid, he's clearly a communist." "Clearly a Communist? What the fuck do you mean!?" "Well he's starving, commies don't know how to make food." They both burst out laughing.
The kid darts off running as fast as he can, the two soldiers immediately dart after him. The kid runs between the trees, he runs faster than the soldiers. After a while the kid seems to disappear. "Look what you did Jack! You just had to crack a joke!" "It weren't even that funny, it was your fault for laughing."
They hear a twig crack, they turn around, "너를 찾았어 키-" [Found you ki-] "No! Ron!" Ron falls on the floor, dead with a hatchet in his skull, Jack aims his gun and fires. It hits the attacker right in the heart, the North Korean soldiers corpse collapses on the ground, the kid charges from behind him with his knife poised, "미국인 죽어라!" [Die, American!] The kid plunges the knife into Jack's heart, but Jack pulls the trigger of his rifle again before and it strikes the kid in the abdomen.
The kid stumbles back, holding his wound. Above him a helicopter circles, he passes out…

"Don't you dare say any more Zero!" Xavier shouts out, "He doesn't need to know!" "But isn't he you're like… Protege?" Zero asks, "He needs to know then, you can't just lie about your origins your whole time with him." "Let him finish Xavier." Kazama tells his partner. Zero clears his throat, "Thank you. And who is this kid? None other than the proud American standing right here, Xavier!"

The kid, Xavier, wakes up in a cream room, "어디에? 나는 어디에?" [Where? Where am I?] But another voice speaks out, "Sonunda uyandın mı evlat?" [Finally awake kid?] A young Turkish boy in the corner of the room says, "무슨 말씀을 하시는 겁니까?" [What are you saying?] "くそっ!なんでまた日本語を話さない奴がいるんだよ!?" [Goddamn it! Why is there another guy who doesn't speak Japanese!?" Another boy, who is Japanese, screams out.
Xavier analyzes that they all wear white, with a number in black printed on it, the Turkish kid has '0' on it, and the Japanese boy has '2' and Xavier himself has '1'. Finally someone speaks on the intercom, first it says, "Yarışmacılar, Ulusal Amerikan Isı Programı'na veya N A P H'ye hoş geldiniz. Isı sanatında ne kadar yetenekli olduğunuza göre sıralandınız ve 3 yıl içinde, eğer savaş hala devam ediyorsa, hepiniz sanatta çok yetenekli olduğunuz için savaşı kazanmak için kullanılacaksınız. 10 dakika içinde kantine doğru ilerleyin." Then it says, "참가자 여러분, National American Heat Program, 즉 N A P H에 오신 것을 환영합니다. 여러분은 Heat 기술에 얼마나 능숙한지에 따라 순위가 매겨졌고, 3년 후에 전쟁이 계속된다면, 여러분 모두가 이 기술에 매우 능숙하기 때문에 전쟁에서 승리하는 데 사용될 것입니다. 10분 후에 매점으로 가세요." Then it says, "出場者の皆さん,全米ヒート プログラム (National American Heat Program,略して N A P H) へようこそ.皆さんはヒート技術の熟練度でランク付けされており,3 年後,戦争がまだ続いている場合は,皆さん全員がヒート技術に非常に長けているため,戦争に勝つために利用されることになります.10 分以内に食堂へお越しください." Then finally it says, "Contestants, welcome to the National American Heat Program, or N A P H. You have been ranked on how proficient in the art of Heat you are, and in 3 years, if the war is still going on, you will be used to win the war, as all of you are very skilled in the art. In 10 minutes, make your way to the canteen."
Then, suddenly, the door to the room swings open, three men walk in with machine guns and gas masks, and say in the respective languages, "GET TO THE CANTEEN!"
