Chereads / I Need Wives For My Gacha System / Chapter 6 - Chapter-6

Chapter 6 - Chapter-6

Rex tried to find out a way to use the one year of cultivation he got but there was nothing he could do. He could only wait till he found out about what he could do, maybe another system function, he looked at the second gacha wheel but the price below it for each roll stopped him from thinking any further.

'3 down, 297 to go'

He slept with a peace of mind since he had found the way at the least for curing Laura.

The next day,

Waking up, he didn't really know what to do. He didn't really thought of what to do after coming here.

"I guess I can start my usual exercise"

Rex said, sitting up and stretching. Of course he didn't forget about getting close to Laura to obtain more points which was his primary goal for the time being but sticking to her all the time might not be comfortable for her. He must know when to retreat and when to attack, it was similar to warfare.

Rummaging through his storage ring, Rex took out his training suit and started getting ready for some jogging. Once ready, he stepped out of the mansion and breathed the fresh which was present. Just as he approached the gates, he saw a beautiful girl in front of the gates of it who seemed to have just arrived. Upon seeing her face, he realized who it was. Though it had been long since they met each other, he still recognized her.

She had rich, dark violet hair and her eyes were of similar colour bluish purple which seemed to take in everything around her with sharp curiosity. She wore a casual outfit which was a cropped leather jacket over a fitted white blouse paired with high-waisted jeans along with ankle boots.

"Clarissa, is that you?"

"Yes," Though the woman named Clarissa replied in confirmation, there was a small smirk tugging at her lips.

"Whew, it seems your brain's still functional if you can remember me."

As Rex walked towards the gate to have a better look, Clarissa asked him with a questioning tone.

"What's with the outfit"

"I was intending to go for a jog"

"Great, I was going to as well"

He knew she was not but she just wanted to go with him.

'Having a company is better than not having one'

"Do you have your clothes or are you gonna run around in that"

Pointing his finger at her clothes, Rex said. Clarissa also looked at her clothes and knew that it wouldn't be good for a jog. She thought for a moment before her smile brightened.

"I have it in my storage ring"

"Then you can go to the changing room"

She quickly went inside the mansion. Being a childhood play mates, she was also quite familiar with everyone in the house and has been through every room of the house.

__ __ __

Waiting at the front doors, he stretched his body and waited for her. Then a thought passed through his mind.

'Right, I can test the eye of true sight'

'I don't want to alarm her, maybe I should tell her'

He thought but denied that idea afterwards.

'I don't need to know everything, I just want to test the skill'

Before he could think any longer, the doors opened, and Clarissa stepped out. She now wore a snug black sports top that accentuated her thin figure, paired with matching high-waisted shorts that showcased her long white legs. A pair of running shoes completed the look. Her confident demeanour and natural beauty left him a little stunned. Rex's gaze lingered a moment too long.

"Have you seen enough?" Clarissa asked with a teasing smile, her hands on her hips.

"Let's go"

Clarissa rolled her eyes at him as he didn't even respond to her tease but seeing that he started jogging away without waiting for her, she ran after him to catch up to him.

"Don't you know it's rude to leave a lady behind"

"A lady? Are you sure about..." Rex smirked with his eyes directed to her chest with exaggeration but his thoughts left when he saw that it was not that small as it was used to. Though not as big as Laura, it was not so small anymore.

Clarissa's face turned scarlet as she looked at where his eyes went.

"You..... Pervert!" she sputtered, swinging her arm at him and the jog suddenly became a run instead. The road led around the lake and then towards the south forest and back at the lake again. Breathing heavily, Clarissa stopped at the bench not able to keep up with him anymore.

"Ugh, I'm done,"

Seeing that she needed to rest, Rex also stopped and turned back, sitting beside her. As soon as he sat down, she hit him.

"Can't you at least let me win once"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry"

"How about I let you win next time"

"That's about the millionth time I heard of it"

"And you never let me win"

In the games they used to play when they were young, Rex never let her win. Taking out a water bottle from his storage ring, he started to drink it and then gave it to Clarissa. Reason why he didn't gave her one before was they used to run around like this not for jogging just for playing but every time they rest afterwards and he takes a drink, she would drink from his bottle instead of brining one or even if she has one she would drink from his bottle. If he offered it to her first, she would say that she wasn't thirsty and waited for him to drink and then she would drink. He didn't understand why she would do it but it slowly turned into just normal action for the two of them.

"Grandpa told me about what happened"

"You can't cultivate anymore?"

Rex's smile faltered, sighing, he nodded. Bracing himself for pity or judgment. Instead, she smiled brightly, a little too brightly.

"So are you going to live here from now on?"

The wind blew rustling her hair as she looked at him with a bright smile. It was quite a picturesque scene.

"Yes"

"Horray"

"I mean, oh no…you can't cultivate anymore"

Rex looked at her with a deadpan look.

"I'm sorry okay"

Silence took over for a while before she continued to speak again.

"What are your plans for the future"

"I haven't thought of it yet"

"Since you are going to stay here, why not marry a wife and start a family"

She said as she looked away but her ears were red.

"Maybe" he said with a wry smile

"Oh cheer up will you, there might be a chance in the future and you might be able to cultivate again"

"Why don't you just hope for the best instead of being unhopeful all the time"

Thinking of that, he knew that he most of the time thought of the worst scenario instead of the best scenario which could happen. But remembering the Gacha Wheel which would be able to turn the fate of Laura, he knew that there would also be a chance to turn his fate as well.

Thinking back to the items on the newbie wheel, he found something. Even though he knew the information of the items, it was in like a library form, he would have to view and search it. But unlike a normal library, just with a mental command he could search for items which would relate to the topic he would think of if they had any relation with any item in the wheel and he found somethings that might help him.

"Clarissa, thank you"

"Is thanks even needed between us"

"Yes, it was my bad"

He stood up from his seat.

"Let's continue with the jog"

Giving his hand to her which she accepted and got up.
