Lucius got home before dawn. Thanks to the regenerative power of the werewolf, his wounds had stopped bleeding, but he was still weak and feeling sore all over his body. Although he had survived in the fight with the Darach, he knew very well that he had lost. If Marriate was serious about killing him, he would have been dead by now. And he knew Marriate was right when he said that he was weaker, and without his magic, he would be nothing other than an ordinary werewolf. Scoff! What gave him the courage to think he could defeat Marriate? Marriate had been a werewolf for God knows how long. Not to mention he once said something about being the destroyer of packs. Who knows how many Alphas have fallen in his hands. "Alpha! That's it!" Lucius sprang up. That he night he got turned, there was an Alpha battling Marriate. "If I can find him, then perhaps I can team up with him and take down Marriate!" Lucius thought to himself, but then sat down again. What's the possibility that the Alpha is still alive. That Alpha hasn't showed up ever since that night. It's possible that Marriate killed that Alpha that night. "So I'm all that stands in his way now. If I can't defeat him, then the town of Gevudan will be at his mercy. Innocent people like Madame Tussaud will also die a meaningless death." Lucius clenched his fist. "I have to get stronger.. regardless of the means, I must get stronger. Monsieur Von Doom and the Madame do not know of Marriate's dark secret, I can't tell them about it now, they might just freak out and in the end I'd be implicated as well. I have to do this on my own." * Silvia sat at the tavern, she could not help but look at Argent's direction. Argent was sitting the Army commander's table. They had searched through the woods all night and found nothing except a cave full of rotten human flesh and skeletons. They had assumed that's the beast's den, thus they had guarded the place all night hoping for the beast to return, but the beast didn't return to the cave. "The only way forward is for me to find that Alpha that fought with the beast. It must have injured the beast before we came." She thought to herself as she sipped the ale. "The beast being weaker is injured and won't attack again, but that Alpha that came into the tavern is definitely worth meeting. With it's help, I can hunt down the beast, and then when the beast is dead, I will have no further use of the Alpha, besides, it's also a beast." "Hello Princess!" Argent's voice sounded behind her, she didn't turn to meet him, but rather completely ignored him. "Hello Princess. You seem so detached from the rest of us, why is that?" Argent enquired. He seem to have forgotten what he actually did to her during the hunt. He had stolen her findings and got the glory.. as one who's in need of achievements to her name, Silvia could never forget this hideous act of his. "What do you want this time, Argent? Here to steal something else?" Silvia said in disgust. "Steal? Why, dear Princess, don't tell me you are still peeved about that little joke of mine." Argent said with an innocent smile on his face. "Joke? Did you just call stealing my glory a joke?" Silvia then stood up and stared right into Argent's eyes, her voice dripping with coldness. "Let me make this clear to you Argent Gabriel, that beast is mine. I will find it, no, I will find both of them, I will kill them, and I will be known as the savior of Gevudan. If you get in my way, I will not hesitate to kill you too." Silvia then walked out of the tavern. Argent still had that evil smirk on his face. "Challenge accepted. We will see whom amongst the both of us eliminates la bete du Gevudan. Now they are two, the reward has been doubled." * "Lucius! Lucius!" "Lucius darling!" Lucius sprang up as soon as he heard Monsieur and Madame Von Doom's voice. He immediately went downstairs. He had gotten himself cleaned before going to bed. "Lucius darling. You are okay. But you did not go to work today." Madame came to Lucius and cupped his cheek in her palms. "Madame, why won't I be fine? I have been indoors all night." Lucius lied with a straight face. He realized he had to keep everything a secret from these two. He didn't want them to be implicated in his battle with Marriate. "You did not hear of what happened last night?" Madame Von Doom asked a little bewildered. "What happened?" Lucius asked with feigned surprised and curiosity. "Madame Tussaud was taken by the beast last night. She's dead." Madame Von Doom said with a sympathetic look in her eyes. "Oh no! Poor Madame Tussaud." Lucius said with a sorrowful look. He then turned around and saw that Monsieur Von Doom was carefully and silently observing him. His heart almost flew out his mouth thinking Monsieur Von Doom might actually know the truth, but then he decided to play dumb. "Monsieur Von Doom, is something wrong?" He questioned. "No, don't mind me." He replied and strotted off towards the kitchen. "Don't mind him Lucius darling, you know your father always bottles up his feelings. He is just sad at the fact Madame Tussaud is no more." Madame Von Doom assured him before also leaving for the kitchen. Lucius knew it wasn't that simple. Could it be that Monsieur Von Doom knew of Marriate's actions? If true, then doesn't it mean that Monsieur Von Doom also knew of his secret? Was that why he was silent and staring at him that way? "Doesn't matter. Either way, I have to get stronger and protect all those dear to me. I have to find a way and stop Marriate before he kills again. I am not just an ordinary werewolf.. I am the Druid Alpha."
