Chapter 236 - Chapter 236: The Ten-Tails Has Been Revived

"Obito!"

"Grandpa Madara!"

"Obito!"

"Grandpa Madara!"

Obito and Madara called out to each other with deep affection, while Obito secretly wondered if Madara would kill him once he snatched the Ten-Tails.

The sweeter the words now, the harsher the betrayal later.

"Alright, the ritual is complete!" Obito clapped his hands and stood up. "Grandpa Madara, wait here for me a moment."

"I'm going to buy some..— I mean, grab a couple of White Zetsu."

Madara nodded, looking pleased. "Go ahead, Obito."

Obito inclined his head slightly, turned his back to Madara, and disappeared in an instant.

It wasn't long before he returned, each hand clutching a grinning White Zetsu.

"I'm back."

After exchanging a brief greeting, Obito tossed the two Zetsu into the center of the ritual. Spreading out two summoning scrolls, he swiftly formed hand seals.

"Edo Tensei!"

With a heavy slap of both hands, countless sealing papers burst from the ritual circle.

"Whoosh!"

The fluttering paper enveloped the White Zetsu, initiating some mysterious transformation. When the dense sheets finally peeled away, two figures stood within the circle.

Their hair was gold and silver, both sporting twin horns and six whisker-like markings on their faces. One of them even wore small, dark sunglasses—a typical Kumogakure ninja look.

"So these are the Gold and Silver Brothers..." Obito clicked his tongue. "Even without consciousness, they still have that punchable smirk."

[Summoning conditions: Consciousness suppressed. Pure tools for use.]

Madara observed the revived brothers with a snort. "To think that Tobirama was killed by these two."

Clearly, in Madara's eyes, only he was qualified to take Tobirama's life.

But soon, anticipation filled his expression. "Let's go, Obito. It's time to grant this hollow world peace!"

Madara was eager to create a world with only victors, only peace, only love!

Obito suddenly spoke up. "Grandpa Madara, I have a small suggestion."

Madara arched a brow, considering his grandson's words. "...In Ryūchi Cave?"

Obito nodded, serious. "Yes. I think we need to be cautious of Black Zetsu. Summoning the Ten-Tails in Ryūchi Cave would minimize the chance of him interfering."

There was logic in Obito's words, but...

Madara hesitated, then suddenly chuckled.

Hah! What was he even worrying about?

Obito didn't even have the Rinnegan—what could he possibly do to compete for the Ten-Tails?

Having reassured himself, Madara clapped Obito's shoulder in approval.

"You're right, Obito. Let's summon the Ten-Tails in Ryūchi Cave."

Obito grinned and gave Madara a thumbs-up. "Then let me take you there, Grandpa Madara."

With his Sharingan spinning red-hot, Obito activated Kamui and transported himself, Madara, and the necessary materials to a desolate part of Ryūchi Cave.

The moment they arrived, Madara wasted no time, slamming a palm to the ground.

"Summoning Jutsu: Demonic Statue of the Outer Path!"

"BOOM!"

With an earth-shaking explosion, a massive, grotesque statue materialized before them. Six of its nine eyes were already glowing. Only three more remained to be lit, and the Ten-Tails would be fully reborn!

Madara leapt onto the statue's finger, his hands forming seals as a feverish light shone in his eyes.

"Hahahaha! Obito, come and assist your grandpa!"

Obito landed beside him, mirroring his hand seals with a grin.

"Hahaha, I'm coming!"

They had rehearsed this process countless times. Within half an hour, the chakra of the Five-Tails, Eight-Tails, and Nine-Tails had all been sealed into the Demonic Statue.

There was one minor hiccup along the way.

Madara was visibly conflicted over whether or not to kill Killer Bee.

Even though he had promised his grandson to spare the Jinchūriki, Bee's mouth was just too damn annoying.

In the end, Madara decided to let him live—barely—because his dancing was somewhat entertaining.

"Come forth, Ten-Tails!"

As Madara and Obito watched with burning anticipation, the Demonic Statue began to move.

Its lotus-like hands, once raised high, slowly lowered toward the ground.

"Crack! Crack! Crack!"

The massive figure pressed its skeletal fingers into the earth, its stiff movements sending tremors through all of Ryūchi Cave.

A terrifying, indescribable aura began to brew within it. Then, in an instant, it exploded outward—an overwhelming force engulfing the entire cave!

"Hisssss!"

Countless colossal serpents, normally violent and untamed, cowered in terror, slithering deep into their dens. They could feel it—an oppressive might that crushed them at the very core of their existence.

"So this is the Ten-Tails..."

Just as Obito was reeling from the sheer impact, a sweet, sultry voice echoed in his mind.

'So much chakra~ Gulp, gulp~ I can't absorb it all~'

…Wait, that's right!

He still had the system! And the multiple-choice rewards!

Obito's mind snapped back to reality as he urgently urged his system.

'Hey, my mission is complete, right? Hurry up and give me my rewards!'

'If Madara becomes the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki in an instant, I'm totally screwed!'

The system's cool, aloof voice responded lazily. '

Gulp~ I… gulp~ I'm a little busy right now… gulp~ No time for you!'

"What?!"

Obito's face went blank with shock.

'You useless system! You believe I won't file a complaint?!'

The system snorted in amusement. 'Hah. And where exactly would you file a complaint against me?'

'Are you going to complain to the system… about the system?'

『Who stands before me, accusing this judge?』

'Damn it! Fine, you win this round!'

With threats proving ineffective, Obito could only anxiously pray.

Pray that Madara wouldn't become the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki too quickly.

Pray that he would still have a chance to steal the Ten-Tails.

Just then, Madara's puzzled voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Hmm? This Ten-Tails…"

Obito, desperate for a delay, immediately turned to him and shouted,

"What is it, Grandpa Madara? What's wrong? What's wrong?!"

"Please explain in at least a thousand words!"

Madara pointed at the Ten-Tails, his expression odd. "This… this isn't what I expected."

"Huh?"

Obito turned to look, and what he saw nearly made his soul leave his body.

'System! You drained it too much!!!'

The once majestic and terrifying Demonic Statue now looked withered and skeletal, as if it had been completely drained of nutrients.
