Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: Is Blue Silver Grass Inferior to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon?

Blue lightning transformed into a dragon in midair, striking Tang San directly and causing his entire body to convulse.

Yu Tianheng seized the moment, rushing forward and landing a powerful blow that sent Tang San flying. Without sparing him another glance, Yu Tianheng turned and charged toward Meng Bei.

At this moment, Meng Bei was on the verge of defeating Dugu Yan. However, Yu Tianheng's sudden attack forced him to shift his focus, engaging in a direct confrontation with Yu Tianheng instead.

The two exchanged over ten blows, but Yu Tianheng quickly fell into a disadvantage.

"This guy… he's gotten even stronger!" Yu Tianheng thought, shocked, a mix of awe and fear filling his heart.

From the rear, Ning Rongrong provided her usual support, casting her auxiliary skills once more.

"Seven Treasures Glazed Tile! First, Strength! Second, Speed!"

Two streams of light flowed into Meng Bei, instantly increasing his power. With newfound strength, Meng Bei grabbed Yu Tianheng's dragon-formed right arm. Using his formidable ice-and-snow power, he countered the electric force without even activating a spirit skill.

With a swift upward kick, Meng Bei unleashed his spirit skill, "Snowstep Strike," sending Yu Tianheng flying.

In the Emperor Battle Team's rear lines, Ye Lingling calmly assessed the battlefield. In her hand, a pink-white begonia flower glowed faintly, its delicate petals soft and intricate.

A moment later, the petals transformed into a radiant white light, which she directed into Dugu Yan and Yu Tianheng. Instantly, Yu Tianheng's injuries healed, and his energy returned, while the ice encasing Dugu Yan melted, restoring her mobility.

The two exchanged glances and, without a word, charged at Meng Bei together.

"Thunder Dragon Claw!"

"Jade Phosphor Poison Tail!"

Both attacks descended simultaneously, and Meng Bei countered with both hands, neutralizing them in succession. However, when his left hand clashed with Dugu Yan's "Jade Phosphor Poison Tail," an intense corrosive pain radiated through his palm.

"What a powerful poison!" Meng Bei thought, immediately withdrawing and retreating.

But Dugu Yan capitalized on the opening, wrapping her snake tail around his arm and climbing onto him like a snake. Her graceful yet venomous presence left Meng Bei momentarily defenseless. As her delicate face drew closer, her mouth opened to reveal sharp fangs.

"Jade Phosphor Venom Fang!"

She bit down.

Not far away, Xiao Wu, battling Yu Feng alongside Ma Hongjun, noticed this and shouted in alarm, "Meng Bei, watch out!"

Ning Rongrong, too, screamed anxiously.

But Meng Bei, ensnared by Dugu Yan, found it difficult to break free. In the next moment, her fangs pierced his chest, injecting venom deep into his muscles.

Meng Bei felt a sharp pain and numbness spread through his body. Staggering, he almost fell as dizziness overwhelmed him.

"Meng Bei!" Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong rushed forward, supporting him from either side.

Dugu Yan stepped back, a victorious smirk on her face.

"Little brother Meng Bei, you should surrender. My Jade Phosphor Serpent Venom is one of the most potent poisons on the continent. Even a Spirit Elder couldn't stand after being struck by it."

She tossed a small vial toward them and continued, "Take the antidote and leave the arena."

Xiao Wu caught the vial and prepared to administer the antidote.

"I'm fine," Meng Bei said, rubbing his temple as he wobbled to his feet.

Although the venom had initially taken hold, Meng Bei soon felt a surge of immense power within his bloodline. The potent venom, so deadly moments before, now felt insignificant, like a small fish swallowed whole by a predator. The poison was swiftly neutralized and absorbed.

Shaking his head, Meng Bei's gaze cleared.

"Impossible! You can ignore my Jade Phosphor Serpent Venom?" Dugu Yan exclaimed in disbelief.

But the truth stood before her. The battle, which had seemed all but decided moments ago, was once again in flux.

Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan regrouped and launched another coordinated assault.

This time, Meng Bei wasn't alone. Xiao Wu provided support, while Ning Rongrong amplified their strength from the rear.

The four engaged in fierce combat. Meng Bei held his own against either Yu Tianheng or Dugu Yan, but Ye Lingling's relentless healing in the background nullified any lasting damage he inflicted.

Ning Rongrong's earlier warnings about the terrifying potential of the Nine Hearts Begonia Spirit had proven true. Ye Lingling's unparalleled support kept the Emperor Battle Team in the fight.

Meanwhile, Xiao Wu struggled. Both Yu Tianheng's residual lightning attacks and Dugu Yan's venom disrupted her movements. Her agility and flexibility, usually her strengths, were severely hindered.

In one clash, Xiao Wu's kick landed on Dugu Yan, but the latter's injuries were swiftly healed by Ye Lingling. At the same time, Xiao Wu's shoe was corroded by Dugu Yan's poison. If not for Meng Bei's quick thinking in removing the shoe, Xiao Wu's foot might have been severely injured.

"Brother San, do something! If you don't help, we won't hold on much longer!" Meng Bei shouted in frustration.

Things couldn't continue this way. Shrek was on the brink of losing.

Meng Bei had a trump card: his second spirit. He was confident that combining it with his first spirit would unleash overwhelming power capable of turning the tide. But using it here would expose his greatest secret, making him a target for assassination.

Winning wasn't worth that risk.

Instead, Meng Bei looked to Tang San as the key to breaking the stalemate.

Tang San, after all, was the protagonist of their story—turning the tide was practically his specialty. Paying a small price to activate Tang San's hidden potential seemed reasonable.

Hearing Meng Bei's call, Tang San felt a deep sense of shame. His task had been to contain Yu Tianheng. Even if he couldn't defeat him, he should have been able to hold him off.

But the reality was that he had been utterly overpowered and left incapacitated. Now, Meng Bei and Xiao Wu were in danger because of his failure.

Tang San clenched his fists in frustration.

Was the Blue Silver Grass truly inferior to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon? Was his spirit really useless?
